One thing that the subsequent Paper Marios never kept was either the audience, or the overall theming of the combat as being a stage play. Which I think is a key part of the overall Paper Mario formula for the first two. I get why Super didn't have it, because it didn't have turn-based combat at all, but it really should have come back for Color Splash and Origami King.

This mechanic was probably the best one in all of the games. They looked cool, made you feel good and rewarded you for being so good at the game, you knew how to show off.

And then the GAMECUBE stopped working. And then the GameCube that was broken for a long time In a closet magically started working again. And then I got a new copy. And then I didn't play it for like three years. And then I played it and beat it. I just wrote an autobiography.
When I first got the original Paper Mario, I got stuck on Chapter 2 because I wasn't able to read very well at the time. It wasn't until a few years later that I would come back to it and be able to beat it.
i played this game at 10 years and didnt care for story so i mostly got stuck when the game gave key points on what to do for example i got stuck in the locked locker room in chapter 3 because i forgot goombellas ability i got stuck figuring out Doopliss' name because i skipped when Vivian said you could use her ability to listen in on birds aaaand finally my stupidity got me stuck on the part with the red and blue statues at keelhaul key because i didnt know that Flavio's song was a hint. . . thankfully ive beaten the game but my 8 year old gamecube finally died last year so i cant play anymore

Hopefully we'll get a Paper Mario game like the original ones again. But apart from non-generic Toads, you know what else I want? Mario's voice back. to be completely honest i was ten years old when i first played ttyd then played sticker star at 13 and got bored of it about half way through and im 14 now and am never gonna even think of purchasing color splash because in my eyes paper mario is going down a bad road. . . of in game purchases ok nevermind thats just a joke on games these days or is it but for real BRING BACK FUN AND ORIGINAL STORY (putting the game back on console instead of 3DS would be nice to but i dont think that will happen)
Yeah the only two good ones were 1 and 2. I liked 2 way more simply from the fact you could play if after the final boss, and it even had extra stuff. If they literally make a copy of TTYD with a different story and characters, that would be perfect.

Hopefully we'll get a Paper Mario game like the original ones again. But apart from non-generic Toads, you know what else I want? Mario's voice back. He's not exactly talkative and maybe I'm misremembering things but I don't think he even has vocal effects in Sticker Star and Colour Splash. Bring Mario's voice back!

to be completely honest i was ten years old when i first played ttyd then played sticker star at 13 and got bored of it about half way through and im 14 now and am never gonna even think of purchasing color splash because in my eyes paper mario is going down a bad road. . . of in game purchases ok nevermind thats just a joke on games these days
or is it but for real BRING BACK FUN AND ORIGINAL STORY (putting the game back on console instead of 3DS would be nice to but i dont think that will happen)

Yeah the only two good ones were 1 and 2. I liked 2 way more simply from the fact you could play if after the final boss, and it even had extra stuff. If they literally make a copy of TTYD with a different story and characters, that would be perfect.

Seeing Mario do backwards somersaults after using a tornado jump was so cool! Mario is just like “yeah, you’ve probably seen someone spin multiple times in the air, but have you seen someone roll backwards in rapid succession? Observe.” Man, I wish I can play this again.
It's like someone took the taunt mechanic from devil may cry and put it into this game. I always loved doing these moves!
