Great Video Jordan!, I had one of these Admiral 9' B&W Sets a few years newer "1971", It had the instant on where the Tubes stayed parcialy lit when it was off, Used that set until 1980 when I got another Admiral Color set then sold it still working!, I'll be watching for the rest on this!, And thank you so much for fixing the Maggie 300 and doing the Video's on it!!
If the horizontal frequency is way off, then it's possible the high voltage is also low because the circuit is completely off tune. And that would also make a difference in brightness.
If you stand the tube with those corroded pins immersed in distilled vinegar for a short while the green corrosion disappears. Thanks for another interesting video!
My mom had one like that. I inherited it and tried to hook my Atari up to it. The bottom of the screen was folded over on itself so videos games looked weird on it lol.

You're welcome.
This the same tv we had in the kitchen ! My father and I watched the moon landing on this tv !
Was my first television in 1968. Watched through college and several years later.
Love these sets! Had one and got rid of it because of a washed-out picture. I didn't have the patience to troubleshoot the video amp circuit.
Another great video Jordan, I love your trouble shooting techniques very educational! Im dying to see part 2 buddy, when will you release it?
I used to own one back in the 70's. It was a great little tv.
A delightful set. Shame the picture tube is tired. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
You and shango066 both posted videos dealing with that dual diode today...
Super high failure rate part.
I lived off of University near 72nd from 1976-1980. Sure miss San Diego!
Ooh I got one of those, and it still works.
A lot of older those glues/coatings will absorb moisture from the air and that's what causes it to become corrosive over time.

I used to repair that tv set alot it works poorly. Not a great model people loved them it was small. Is it worth fixing
I think so
It still has some life in it.

Cute little set. It is so cramped in there. Only thing worse is those 1960's 5" Sony b&W's or my next project an 1968 Symphonic 3" set. Tiny.
That's a nice little set.
"Six ways from Sunday" , Not one i have heard before :-D
Gotta love that knob

Bkack & White- Set very cool
As it's a portable you would think they would fit some sort of retainers on the tubes.
It's not a TV but a can of worms. Tuner dial is double the size it should be so it makes the set look smaller. A definite multi-
part series.
The cruzbot lives.
You got that right😂
The cruzbot...thats funny! 😆
Admiral, Admiral Kirk! Kahn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very few bad yokes on this channel JP!
Beware the clear caps !
LFOD
Having a multimeter with a low test current is good, but those diodes need a few million amps lol.
