This is beautiful Ryan even with the little inaccuracies. I wish I’d known you were after a vintage cone knob. I sold about 3 of them in the past few months. If I find another I’ll let you know. What’s the chemical you used to darken the booster?
Thanks man! Your cone knob was actually the one I missed out on 😂 For the booster section I just used aluminum black but for the pommel I used a mixture of lye and hydrochloric acid to get more of a dull grey tone out of the aluminum
I should probably add a disclaimer, I don't recommend mixing chemicals like this. The fumes from hydrochloric acid alone can do major damage to your lungs and eyes. You have to wear a respirator rated for gasses, and goggles. Aluminum black is still a good option, I just wanted to try something different
