- Did you know some of your favorite animated characters have been voiced by the same actor! While some of the most famous actors in the world provide a ton of on screen entertainment, it’s their talents behind the microphone that elevate their craft to a whole other level. Stars such as Stephanie Beatriz, Tom Holland and Zendaya are just a few actors who have lent their voices to multiple animated characters, some of which are extremely popular. Just because we don’t see their faces, doesn’t mean these actors should get any less credit for their amazing performances.
Voice acting isn’t easy, which is why it’s very impressive when an actor attempts the medium, and nails their part. Popular animated characters such as Mirabel from Encanto, Raya from Raya and The Last Dragon, and Bruno from Encanto have been voiced by big name actors. Some of these actors have more voice acting experience than others, but in all cases they shine in their roles and breathe life into their characters. Voice acting brings a whole new set of challenges to actors. We’ve seen Tom Holland's impressive acting range before in his live action roles, but his one weakness when voicing a character is his inability to do a convincing laugh. And some of these actors faced challenges when forced to record their lines from their homes. Working remotely is never easy.

I would argue that she's tied with Frank Welker. Though, Tara Strong is more likely to voice a human or child, and Frank Welker is more likely to voice a grown man or animal.

although Lea Salonga didn't have a character herself, she sang two Disney princesses songs which is pretty impressive, singing high notes while in two different voices is not many can do.

Alan Tudyk taking non-speaking animal roles in disney films, but being part of Ice Age as a talking animal is funny to my brain.
Grey Griffin is a powerhouse of voice acting. She played Azula, Daphne Blake, Vicky, and countless others

Tom Holland has only voiced a handful of animated projects, mostly movies, but he does have one cute-as-can-be piggie commercial he voiced once upon a time. He’s done voice acting in both his own British accent and American, depending on the project. Despite the importance of authentic accents in Spies in Disguise, it was important for his character to have an American accent. He also used his American accent in ONWARD
He doesn’t change his voice that much tho. I really like it when voice actors can do multiple types of voices, not when they sound the same

I'm surprised that Robin Williams isn't on this list! He has voiced so many great characters - Genie from Aladdin as well as several penguins in Happy Feet & Happy Feet 2... and those are the just the ones off the top of my head! I'm sure if I looked, there are other voices he's done.

This is a good list, but I feel like its been made with the stipulation that it's showcasing generally traditional actors who have voiced multiple characters in animation. There are SO many Voice Actors who only do voice work, and rarely appear in live action who have FAR more extensive voice careers than many of the ones you chose. Frank Welker, Tara Strong, Jim Cummings, Grey DeLisle-Griffin, Dee Bradley Baker, etc...
The same lady that played the voice of Malificent is also the same lady that played the voice of Lady Triemane.

This is just a list of famous film actors who did a few voice roles. For a real test, do specialist voice actors. They are incredibly talented and do not get anywhere near enough credit for what they can do. Someone like Matt Mercer or Liam O'Brien could voice multiple characters in a movie and you'd never tell they're the same person and it saddens me that incredibly talented voice actors are continually overlooked for someone "known".

Animated Sinbad movie was from 2003…not 2013. I watched it in theaters when I was in high school and I was not in high school in 2013.

Ben Schwartz also voices Dewey in the Ducktales reboot, and i personally think that's bigger than Sonic, but mostly because Roger Craig Smith is (in my opinion) the official voice of Sonic.
Jack Black is obviously Bowser in the Mario Movie, but that was recently announced, so i guess that's why it's not mentioned.
Did you know that Tom's actual debut was an animated movie/anime movie? And that was the Ghibli movie Arriety where he voiced Sho in the UK dub.

Chris Pratt voiced Emmit in both Lego movies, and Barley in Onward.
Anna Kendrick voiced the sister in Paranorman and Poppy in the Trolls movies.

Awkwafina was definitely my favorite. Those three characters she played as are my favorite characters in the movies. Also, her voice when she’s acting is amazing and it is beyond words how I describe it. She is by far one of my favorite voice actors.

As of 2023 She is another Actor to portray multiple Disney characters. She voiced Scuttle in Live Action Little Mermaid. After voicing Sisu.
Idris Elba did Knuckles in Sonic 2, the sea lion in Finding Dory, Shere Khan in Jungle Book, and Chief Bogo in Zootopia and others. Makes me wonder if he and his family get free passes to Disney World.
FUN FACT: King Candy, Alister Cray and Duke Weasleton in Lithuanian dub was voiced by the same voice actor as well!

Cree Summers is one of the best voiceover actors of all time and it’s offensive that she is not mentioned on this list you need to do your research all of these people book these jobs based off of their notoriety as an actor not because of their skill as a voice actor Cree has brought to life over 101 animated characters from Penny in Inspector gadget to Susie Carmichael in the Rugrats this black woman is a legend and should definitely be mentioned among this list in fact you can do a whole special on her alone

One of my favorite things is discovering a voice actor did a certain character, I know Alan Tudyk as Clayface and Joker in the Harley Quinn TV show but to hear he did all those Disney characters too? Talk about RANGE
Alan Tudyk also voiced Ludo in Star vs the Forces of the Universe, Green Arrow in the first 3 seasons of Young Justice (unsure if he still voices GA, the character isn’t in season 4) and played Wash on Firefly/Serenity.

Ik this is based on actors who also do live performances, but i would have loved it if it included those who are just voice actors. Like Frank Welker: Fred, Scooby Doo, Abu, Megatron.....he ranges a lot, even with live animal noises.

Chris Pratt is one of my favorites, he voiced Emmet and Rex from the lego movie, Owen Grady from Lego Jurassic world, Cooper Daniels from Ben 10: CD, Jake from the 2004 Batman show, and Barley in Onward. He's also been cast as Mario for the Smash Bros movie coming out, the iconic lasagna loving cat in the upcoming Garfield movie, and he has officially signed on to play Goku in Dragon Ball Super's return after Sean Schemmel played him for 20+ years. Not to mention his characters Andy Dwyer from Parks and Recreation, Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy, his amazing work in the live action Jurassic World series, The Tomorrow War, and MANY MORE. I' a big fan as you can see, like where they filmed a scene outside of a bunker in JW was in Hawaii when I went on a trip, I stood where he stood and fell in the mud cause it was raining XD, best day ever.
