    For this scale, i agree going with cm's is the right way to go.

    Another good Video. Related to the different tables for artillary the interpretation of my group is that the rules are based in the French and British starter sets that only include 6 an 9 Pound guns. When they say light smoothbore guns we think they are talking about the 6 pounds and smoothbore are the 9 pounds. The horse artillary comes only with 6 pounds that mach with the 36" of the light smoothbore. when they talk about the 9 pounds Foot artillary, that mach with the 48" of what they call smoothbore. So the 6 pound foot Artillary will be the same as the 6 pounds horse Artillary (36"), the expansion of the imperial guard that come with 12 pound Guns that is not considered on the Book. That is only our interpretation but we solved that already.
    One of the changes to the rules that we made was to reduce the number of bases of each unit (4 to 3) because most of the regular units have only 3 dice when shooting and 3 Stamina points. A small unit have 2 bases and so have 2 dice when shooting and 2 Stamina and so one. Related to square formation we only use that 3 bases to represented, also because each face only can shoot one dice for the total of 3 dice that makes useless the 4th side of the square. Also like that we are saving 1 base per unit and in total we can have more units with the same total bases :) like that we can also take advantage of the 10 Brigadiers that otherwise (some of them) would be useless due to the shortage of units. The starter set include 10 additional flag standards that we can use for the additional units to make the command base of the unit. That is not even a suggestion is only what we are doing. Sorry for so long comment. Keep up with the good Videos and thank you for them.

      Keep the suggestions coming. They are really great ideas. I do think the game will probably be tweaked as we play to iron out certain bits. I don't want to guess too much until I've played as i could be talking nonsense 😂

      @@midlandergaming7319 Other thing that don't make any sense on the rules and also related to this vidio is a unit in a skirmish disposition. How can a unit in skimish have the same number of bases (same front size). Or they have big front size or they should have less figures for the same front size which means less fire power. But that is an issue to discuss in the future 😄

      I've been thinking about my French being 3 bases and using spare Eagles to make the 2nd Battalion Unit of the regiment

    Nice video! Are you all doing Pike and Shotte epic in the future? Greetings from Virginia USA!

      Hello Nick. I'd really like to, but I went in so much with waterloo I still have loads left to paint. Is it the same rules set too? If its exactly the same I'm not sure it will feel like I am playing a different game. Unless maybe they amend the unit stats to be more unique to that game. I'll probably get a few sprues to try painting first

    I am coming to napoleonic from acw. We've been halfing our ranges. It works fantastically. It provides form mobility early in he game to culminate in musket fire exchanges mid game to end in a big push at the end. Quite dramatic and appropriate.

      Thanks for the feedback. Good to know.
      How do the 2 different rule books compare?

    • @nikolaistarkweather5313
      @nikolaistarkweather5313 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@midlandergaming7319 acw comes with the normal rule book and a basic acw book that is a distillation of the Glory Hallelujah supplement. Napoleonic comes with a rulebook Integrated with the complete Albion Triumphant supplement. I have all the aforementioned books and supplements to compare to. They are literally cut and paste copies of each other.
      That's not a complaint at all. The two rule books are identical with epic scale examples and nothing but napoleonic in one and generalized 28mm in the other. But the rules are identical in all respects.
      The ACW book is serviceable and mostly cut from Glory Hallelujah. But I would suggest getting Glory Hallelujah to further augment the game.
      The napoleonic book, as mention, has all the rules from the basic rule book AND everything from Albion Triumphant. It's a more complete set.
      Acw is serviceable and complete, but not like Napoleonic. Get two starting sets of napoleonic and you are off running.
      Maybe I should make videos about this...lol

    Are you also using cm for firing distances and shoot through gaps?

    • @midlandergaming7319
      @midlandergaming7319  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good points. I'd leave the gaps as inches. But shouting is also cm.
