I see where Shiko Nguru is coming from in terms of buying a land....l would gladly be ok if the plot involves both parties BUT would have a problem when a man buys a land in secret under his name not once /twice n never disclose to the wife, but comfortable telling friends out there...why the hypocrisy ???

I've enjoyed the discussion. Shiko is right in some way. We women like the finer details too much. Besides our Kikuyu men have been known to keep things to themselves leaving us to deal with big betrayals in later years.

The thing we need to understand is how we're used to operating & making decisions as independent individuals, will drastically shift once coming together as a couple/family unit. I think when it comes to major purchases (cars, land, houses) partners, especially married couples need to keep their significant others in the loop, just so that each party can feel included & give their input.
You may come home with a title deed of land you purchased for us in Lamu, then it gets dismissed probably coz there was something better she had spotted in Tigoni with a higher R.O.I.
Then everyone ends up catching feelings chini ya maji 😩 which could have been avoided through simple communication
