This is one of the most satisfying character arc payoffs I have experienced in anime. Just the genuine war cry and emotional impact of "that" moment when you fall in love with something is legendary 🔥
Battle of Concepts is really highlighted in a lot of ways the entire game including blockers. Shiratorizawa is very straightforward and offensive-focused team. Even their middle blocker Tendo, despite Blocks being a defensive tactic he puts it to offensive use because his style isnt just guess blocking. Tendo outright likes to shut down the blocks along with the guessing and it gives him the satisfaction of seeing the other player’s face when he totally disables their spikes. This is contrasting to Tsukki whose blocking is team focused. His classic “one touch” calls because he can rely on his teammates to recover it. Then with Ukai’s and Hey Hey duo’s coaching, Tsukki’s instincts allow him to time the blocks with the other members accordingly to corner opponent spikers into hitting towards Noya the libero. Tsukki really rounds-up Karasuno’s team-oriented dynamic play with his blocks. Him being the first in the prefecture to totally shut down one of Ushiwaka’s spikes is a big deal
9:47 the score that was shown in the ending song was a reference to season 1 when Karasuno lost that final set to Seijoh hence you saw kageyama and Hinata on the ground defeated and Oikawa walking off in triumph
They got Tsuki inner monologue breaking it down and building it up. Eye on the ball slo-mo. He's got his own version of Vegeta's piano theme playing. Still, they thought he lost the point..
I think this is like top 5 hypest moments in Haikyuu. For me 1. Oikawa's set from out of the court and the talent speech (and that whole rally) 2. Hinata and Kageyama's joint block (won't say when) 3. Tsuki's block 4. Hinata hits a nice high bump to slow things down 5. Oikawa tells Ushiwaka not to forget his pride and that a murder of crows might be coming for him. oh and manga spoilers (Hinata and Oikawa as beach volleyball partners and then Kageyama seeing the picture while with his new teammate (Ushiwaka) PS that's as far as i got in the manga might want to wait for the anime to watch the last game.
The break between set is balanced with the sport itself. If you stop for too much time it will break your body. I mean american football breaks are crazy long, you can have a shower, go home, sleep, wake up, come back to the field and play another match.
