For some reason parental abusers are only punished by having the child taken away. It's unbelievable. Also, mental abuse is still not officially considered "abuse". Also also, Venus has publically stated that there was a lot of physical abuse as well, she just does not want to talk about it. Also also also, Manaki apparently turned out to also be abusive? At least, Venus has claimed in a now deleted video that she fell in love and got married to an "abuser" because abuse was all she had learned from her mother.
it's so sad to see Venus struggling with alcohol addiction today, but unsurprising. Her mother essentially destroyed her life and social network. I hope she is able to get back on a safe path soon.
I went through this with my ex. The funny part is, a lot of our mutual friends fell for it, and at the time I was so hurt I didn't fight against it. It was just too mentally & physically taxing. From what I have observed of all the Venus controversy over the years, I wonder if it was the same for her. I'm so glad to see her improving, even if it's slowly.

And now: July 30th 2022 it seems she’s had a fiancé, but broke it off (?) and was chasing host ‘boyfriends’ and making them fight over her. And the last I saw on her instagram story was that she was going to attempt to get help at one of Japan’s institutions? I don’t remember where, but she said it is one of Japan’s best institutions.
This is so heartbreaking to me, because as she was escaping her mother, I was doing the same thing! My mother is manipulative and abusive and also tried to isolate herself and her children by moving to a different country. I was so lucky to receive help from my boyfriend's mother, who arranged for me to move in with my grandparents back home. Where would I be without this help?? Margaret used her daughter and when her usefullness expired she left her all alone in the world. How can mothers turn out so cruel and spiteful?

it makes sense that she'd have breakdowns, when you go through trauma like that the brain doesn't tend to register or unpack that shit until you're *safe*. her breakdowns likely just mean she's finally safe enough to go through and deal with all she went through before
This is a pretty fair take honestly, when you’re in a fight or flight mode 24/7, your mind and body just does what it can to help you survive but not really process, it all comes down when you finally TRY to live without being in that guarded state for the first time since forever, you’re forced to basically live with the effects of something you haven’t even processed fully.
All children deserve parents, but not all parents deserve children. I'm just happy that this story has at least a happy ending for Venus. It really seemed like it was going for a really dark turn, when the knife was brought up. Plus with that kind of upbringing, it must be hard to deal with all the drama just out there on the internet.

BTW, Margaret moved to the US in 2022 and started a visa scam marriage with a methed up trucker, which ended in under three months because Margo is crazy - too crazy even for a methed up trucker. So she filed lawsuits against him for abandonment in multiple states. Then, she legally changed her name to Laurel Bay using a women's shelter she'd been scamming off, claiming she was a DV victim. Then, she scammed an elderly woman in Queens by illegally squatting in her house. Margaret got caught by the neighbors in July 2024 after only a few days, and she's currently facing trial for burglary, illegal trespassing, and illegal possession of the personal information of dozens of people for the purposes of scamming.

As someone who grew up under a controlling thumb.. it sets you up to adulthood under an abusers thumb.. but.. with time and good people (therapy especially) you CAN recover and rebuild yourself.. Some things there’s no way to go back and do them again.. but with a healthy outlook and a positive mindset, you can start over.. it took til my 30s to shake off the worst of the controlling abusers.. but.. being older and wiser meant that I was able to enjoy the daily life things that to many others was routine or mundane.. and that when I did pursue something, it was because *i* wanted to.. not because I was TOLD TO.. and it’s meant that I’ve had a decade of life doing things I truly enjoy and appreciate in between the typical ups and downs of life and responsibilities.. I hope she finds her feet and discovers her strength as an individual.. sometimes those of us who have had to fight for it and dealt with extremely difficult and manipulative people, are the best judges of character and are able to eliminate people who don’t bring back to us the joy we give others.. it makes for a much less difficult life when you can CHOOSE who effects you I hope she gets all of that peace and perspective.. that comes from self worth and control of our own life.. ❤❤

I remember in the craziness of all of this manaki, who was usually very quiet in videos with Venus and just overall on social media, said he didn’t care if him and Venus didn’t work out, he just wanted to her get out of that relationship and I think that was when everyone realized that manaki and Venus were in the right and her mother was insanely abusive (because at the time no one really knew what was going on, her mother said Venus stole things, Venus was being quiet, it was a lot) manaki is a huge hero in this story. Not only to “save” Venus but to really show light to how abusive the mother was.
Actually they got married and live together for some time, but they decided to divorce because they saw each other more like friends. If I'm not wrong they still talk but they are no longer togher.
What makes Venus' Story even more tragic is that from what I know she still continues to experience so much trauma nowadays. Her mother may be gone now but more keeps coming toward her and everyone myself included are very worried about her.

xXJaxon_PlayzXx I think there is a slight difference, but they are very similar. Mental (phycological) abuse tends to be more when someone is manipulated so much that it distorts their sense of reality. Emotional abuse causes people to have emotional and self-esteem issues. Idk if that helped?

So she filed lawsuits against him for abandonment in multiple states. Then, she legally changed her name to Laurel Bay using a women's shelter she'd been scamming off, claiming she was a DV victim. Then, she scammed an elderly woman in Queens by illegally squatting in her house. Margaret got caught by the neighbors in July 2024 after only a few days, and she's currently facing trial for burglary, illegal trespassing, and illegal possession of the personal information of dozens of people for the purposes of scamming.
UPDATE: Her mom is now trying to sue him for this video.

As someone who grew up under a controlling thumb.. it sets you up to adulthood under an abusers thumb.. but.. with time and good people (therapy especially) you CAN recover and rebuild yourself..
Some things there’s no way to go back and do them again.. but with a healthy outlook and a positive mindset, you can start over..
it took til my 30s to shake off the worst of the controlling abusers.. but.. being older and wiser meant that I was able to enjoy the daily life things that to many others was routine or mundane.. and that when I did pursue something, it was because *i* wanted to.. not because I was TOLD TO.. and it’s meant that I’ve had a decade of life doing things I truly enjoy and appreciate in between the typical ups and downs of life and responsibilities..
I hope she finds her feet and discovers her strength as an individual..
sometimes those of us who have had to fight for it and dealt with extremely difficult and manipulative people, are the best judges of character and are able to eliminate people who don’t bring back to us the joy we give others.. it makes for a much less difficult life when you can CHOOSE who effects you

I remember in the craziness of all of this manaki, who was usually very quiet in videos with Venus and just overall on social media, said he didn’t care if him and Venus didn’t work out, he just wanted to her get out of that relationship and I think that was when everyone realized that manaki and Venus were in the right and her mother was insanely abusive (because at the time no one really knew what was going on, her mother said Venus stole things, Venus was being quiet, it was a lot) manaki is a huge hero in this story. Actually they got married and live together for some time, but they decided to divorce because they saw each other more like friends. If I'm not wrong they still talk but they are no longer togher.
What makes Venus' Story even more tragic is that from what I know she still continues to experience so much trauma nowadays. Her mother may be gone now but more keeps coming toward her and everyone myself included are very worried about her.

xXJaxon_PlayzXx I think there is a slight difference, but they are very similar. Mental (phycological) abuse tends to be more when someone is manipulated so much that it distorts their sense of reality. Emotional abuse causes people to have emotional and self-esteem issues. Idk if that helped?
