The Chinese Type 62 light tank is pretty much just a miniature version of the T-54. It's quite a bit of fun, and there's even a rare version in the Soviet tree.

The typ 62 used to have a 500hp engine, but it was nerfed down to 400hp.
Its historically accurate, but man, these 100hp really make a difference...
They also fixed the gear ratio, but it is still slower. Should be in 6.3 br.

With you enjoying unconventional tanks, I think you should give the Mk.5 AVRE a try. The reload can be painful, but playing with the exact opposite of the playstyle you enjoy it works great!

You would think that a tank that has such a long reload and requires so much skill to aim at longer ranges would be rewarding when you hit something, but I hit roof shots that do absolutely nothing with it quite a lot

Due to you liking light tanks and having it mentioned in a video before you could try the BT-7A. Oneshooting, great mobility and a roof mg for maybe anticas.

not sure if Ive seen a request for it yet, but I think the french SK-105A2 would be an interesting tank for a video. It has thermals, darts, and a laser rangefinder while still having an oscillating turret and is extremely capable for its br
Yea, no.
The top-speed and acceleration are worse than 90% of its MBT counterparts, it has no reverse gear, isn't stabilised, has no gun depression and the suspension is absolutely awful. (8.7 light tank btw, same BR as the Object 279).
Yea the gun's pretty okay, but it's of no use if the platform it's mounted on is incapable of getting to where it needs; other tanks at this BR or even lower in other techtrees have the same autoloader while on much better platforms with comparable main armaments.
If we strictly talk about France, the Mars 15 is at a lower BR and better in most aspects; the reload is 1.5 seconds longer and lacks thermals, but the mobility is miles better, has a reverse gear and the suspension is stable.
The AMX-10 is flat-out better in every aspect except the autoloader, while also at a lower BR.

I think Gaijin messed with the HEAT shells because I've noticed they have been working nearly the same way as HE shells oddly enough. This includes ATGMs too. Secret overpressure addition to other fuze sensitive rounds?
I dunno, was playing my IKV 103 today and a Sherman ate 3 of its 105mm, 1.41kg TNT equivalent, HEATFS rounds (1 into the engine - understandable - , 2nd and 3rd to the side of the turret) before someone else finished it off.
@@corsairsofnarshaddaa Overpressure doesn't really effect closed top vehicles in War Thunder. When talking about open top, then yeah, HEAT does seem to overpressure now. Most people don't bother to bring HEAT at the BRs where you actually find open topped vehicles, but it is very effective these days

The Type 62 is really neat idea, basicly a lighter version of your MBT for use in swampy/mountanious terrain. To bad it did not really work that well irl. Would be really nice if gajun could move it down to 6.3 to fit into a chinese lineup.

Could try the KV-122, it's a KV bottom with an IS-2 gun. Sits at 5.3. Very funny to kill panthers. Little frustrating because of the bad armour, but can be very fun if played correctly (hit and run).
Reverse and angle turret and players can either risk shooting the turret which will bounce or shoot just the engine

Yay, finally! I’ve wanted this tank to get some Spookston love for a long time! I got it back during the original event years ago and decided to bring it out some more in the last year after finding out how much it’s worth on the marketplace. I have REALLY enjoyed rediscovering it, and have even dropped a nuke with it. Tons of fun for light tank enthusiasts, being that it’s a fast little gremlin version of a T-54. Just gotta learn to work around the Wolverine-level turret traverse speed 🐌

@@ragoon7798 there are two versions, one event, one tech tree. The event one is in the Russian tree, added years before the Chinese tree existed. Spookston is playing the Russian version IN the video, dude.

You should play the Pbv 302, a dinky armored box with a top attack missile sitting at 8.7. Oh and it has a 20mm but that’s kinda useless for anything heavier than a light tank :D
I remembered back in last October? ish time the type 62 has a bug on its turret armor, making it virtually impenetrable even by rounds like DM53s and 3BM60s, it was fixed after sometimes, gives an indicator of how much people actually plays it bruh
Same thing happened with the T-64A (not the B for some reason)

14:00 I love spookston but its such a classic youtuber thing to sit still in the open in the most obvious spot possible right in front of an exit from enemy spawn, tunneled on someone half the map away, while losing the match badly, and then complain that your teammates didn't defend you.

Its not bad. Like at all. Its a but slow but the gun is holy hell steong at its BR. With decent depression you can use it extremly effectivly.
@@robertharris6092 for me personally with the slow speed and paper thin armor makes it a giant magnet for CAS, i have definitely died more times to a plane then to an actual tank

Any half competent player tend to die to cas as opposed to tank.
I hate that thing. AP and ahpe usually pass straight through. HE some times does not overpressure correctly.
In return it just sling a lolpen round aim at center mass.
The only problem with the Waffentrager is the fact that, whenever the Americans are in the game, the sky is packed with P-47s and anything open topped gets shredded in 5 seconds

So, this was my fave Scout premium in World of tanks. Chinese scouts get a bad wrap but it was pretty strong for how limited it's view range was. it's 85mm made it punch through HP of targets from basically activate camo. great memories nice to see it in warthunder
This is one of those tanks you don't see often but I really enjoy playing plus bullying German mains with HEAT-FS is fun.
Also (day 20 asking) You should try the Japanese STA1/2/3/Type 61 (they're all kinda the same), decent mobility, good gun and great sight magnification makes them pretty fun to play.

5:40 that’s something I call as a “prediction”. If someone is capturing a point, you don’t have to put arty on that point since the enemy’s position is known. You should guess where other enemies will be hiding. Calling an arty can spot out his/hers position if the enemy is actually hiding there.

hey spook, i realized theres a tank i dont think ive ever seen in a match before. The italian Celere Sahariano, it seems kinda fun to play, its at a low br that you would enjoy, the APBC has terrible pen but the explosive filler is really potent. Also its pretty funny looking

So i grinded the Israel line and i am amazed from the Merkava 3 *"Turms slayer"* - has m322(556pen) which paired with good speed and actuall reverse and some kind of survivability makes mk3 the best hunter of premiums. Its amazing at 11.0 and I think it would be nice to give it a try(it got way more things since it was 10.0)

Hey Spookston, You can set the Crew voices to follow your game language, so even if you're playing on lets say germany, your Crew still talk in english

Could we get a dedicated video on US WW2 ammo design? Their HVAP was pretty unique, getting 240mm of pen out of the fairly low power 76mm was a unique achievement really only exceeded by the Brits developing APDS (and even then it wasn't a straight upgrade really)

I think HEATFS got a stealth buff recently, because the past couple of days I've been doing absurd damage with 8.0 HEATFS. I shot the front right corner of a leopard and the entire crew died (no ammo detonation).

Spook, BR-365A is the only AP round to use on the 85mm. The others are noob traps - their minor performance boost doesn't justify the downgrades in normalization or filler.
(The 906 and ASU-85 with the very high-power 85mm of course are the exception, but they can't use BR-365A anyhow)
