He thought he could be a better teammate by simply adapting to whatever the spiker wanted from a set. Atsumu, being one of the best setters in the nation, naturally noticed how he just obeyed what anyone asked of him during the Youth Camp, so he pointed that out to Kageyama's face, whether for good or bad. Now Kageyama's fully realized it's a two-way relationship. Hopefully he can polish his communication skills!

His return to 'King' wasn't about him feeling like his sets were amazing, rather him realizing he could give better tosses if they told him what was keeping them from scoring when he sets for them. The goody two-shoes also has to do with him avoiding the middle because of the blockers putting pressure on him rather than challenging them. From that blockers will know that he'll toss to the wing spikers more. Making his sets easier to read because they don't have to worry about the middle.
Kageyama was covering for others' weakness with his skill, that's bad version of "goody two shoes" cuz they'll keep their problems. Now he's giving the best set he thinks they'll hit, and they need to work their setbacks.
Hinata giving Kageyama a new crown and seeing him smile made me emotional AF! This whole "King of the court" has really been something weighing heavily on Kageyama since the first episode. He's been trying so hard not to revert back to his way....but now that his skills are evolving, the urge to speak up has become too much. So seeing Hinata basically say " look, this is not like the past, you can be the king of the court here, we can handle the feedback and if you go too far we'll call you out on it". He's evolving and forcing everyone around him to evolve with him. I love this show!
Exactly!!! What hinata did there was to tell kageyama to just be himself. That it's okay to show his true self without the fear that his teammates will reject him like what happened in middle school. He can be king again but everyone on the team will still have their own opinions on things, they can follow kageyama's advices as a setter (more like orders lol) but they can also disagree or call him out when he's the one at fault. And that's all kageyama needed tbh. Couldn't be more happy for him 😭💕

Just to clarify. Kageyama didn’t actually use “damn” to Asahi in Japanese because that would’ve been extremely rude to say to senpai. He used honorific even when he’s yelling a bit. It’s common sense not to use those kind of words to your senpai in Japan.

It was dope to see how the team responded to Kageyama. But Ima be real, I did not like him at all the moment he said "then make the damn point". That was extremely rude especially towards a guy that you know shoulders the blame. That moment came about because of the other setter, no doubt; his "if they can't hit my tosses, they suck".
The easy to hit toss is not like perfect overall toss, that's diffrent for every hitter, setter must bring the ball to hitter for hitter to hit their best hit, not the comfortable hit or spike, or smash, or whatever it is And basically there is still much to be learned by kageyama
