Looks like a much better use of the tanares system than adventures. Always like the tanares hit/miss effects, make it stand out among crawler combat systems
There are ten sort of mini campaigns by sounds of it. So 10 x 4 encounters I am guessing? Plus whatever sea combat ends up adding. Very interesting game to me as someone who loved Jaws of the Lion and Adventure Tactics this seems to take the best of both worlds. Seems like it will be easy to table too! Which is a huge plus.
@@OneStopCoopShopyeah I feel like they have underplayed it saying 10 encounters! When in reality they are split into from what I can tell sets of 4? I almost passed on the game because of the 10 number!
I really love the quest book and health tracker. By looking at the campaign page I'm worried there isn't enough story/quest variation there for me personally. The value vs amount of missions seems a little skewed. Also this game makes me wish cats of mont saint michel was shipping sooner haha.
The first red enemy should have targeted Dorro instead of Krog, as he was farther away. You rolled a 5 and Dorro's defense was 6. He was flanked however so the attack should have hit him rather than missed Krog.
I'm wondering if the timer will become an issue on harder missions. I dont love timer games. I dont like setting up and feeling rushed to get through a campaign. Seems great otherwise.
Roguelite? Pirate? Boardgame? Will it use the unique constraints of the black powder era in interesting tactical ways or will the search continue as it treats black powder guns like all other guns? Lets see!
All these characters have either swords or magic attacks, so the game leans into the “fantasy” side of things more than black powder from what I’ve seen
I liked Tanares but the story was so poor and eventually it just got too repetitive. I think I made it through 3 game weeks or so. This could be the perfect answer - a much smaller, tighter version (everything in Tanares just had too many HP), and the missions, while very clever, just went on waaaaay too long. I'll be watching this with interest. But with Lands of Evershade on now, and Enormity in a couple weeks (both are insta-backs for me), this is really going to have to have a strong campaign to convince me to part with even more money.
From what I can tell this is trying to be a quicker version than any of those with a short campaign. I’m playing enormity now and it looks like it’ll be BIG
@@OneStopCoopShop After the experience I've had for the last 2 years with Aeon Trespass, Into the Unknown is instant gameplay all-in on whatever they release. As far as I'm concerned, their game design, miniature design, art and writing are all simply unrivaled and perfectly match everything that I have ever wanted and will ever want from a board game. So, yeah. I should probably just sell everything else and play only ITU games.... But still, I need a light game every now and then!

Sounds like a nice level of content!

Ugh! Dragori and Awaken Realms just keep feeding my FOMO and destroying my finances.

And this is also a variable timer based on luck. Some games you’ll have 8 or 9 rounds, others you’ll die at 5 or 6… definitely something to consider
Marine, it’s Marine!!!!!
