this is the only E-kit I've ever seen or heard that's even come close to making me want one. those hats and cymbals are amazing- fast, live, real time response and perfect actual cymbal/hat sounds. unbelievable.
The EFNOTE5 feels & plays great, but have you also checked out the drum-tec Silent STudio Sessions yet:

Kind regards!
I must be crazy because this sounds obvious to me that the same exact sample is played for a good chunk of the velocity range and no round-robin type solution is being applied, it still sounds very fake to me, especially on the toms. That comes from the module of course, I'm sure the pads are great, but compared to a quality VST or the 2box modules, this is not great.
I do admit that the samples themselves sound very nice! Also, @drumtecTV it seems that the snare drum pad responds to palm muting?? That's insane if so
@@Alphare33 that's true, I feel the same. Which is a pity... Because the sounds are very natural, the reaction and response seems to be very realistic, especially with HiHat and Cymbals. It seems feeling realistic when playing. I'm wondering if this could be even more important than the missing round robin...(?) - If EFNOTE would now implement an effective round robin, we could have the perfect solution...;-)
Dare I say it... I actually prefer the sound of this electronic kit to the Roland's version. Brilliant!
Cool that they have a snare-off sound, that's overlooked in most e-drums.
Yes this actually was one of my personal favourites when doing the demo :)
found out that you can overlay other sounds onto each other, great possibilities for sound creation. Have to say like it a lot
sounds quite lovely, but what really impresses me is the response of those cymbals, very realistic, wonderful kit it looks like.
This kit looks like something I would definitely buy. It sounds decent enough and is compact enough for gigs.
Kit 03 resonance sounds inspiring... w/ Ralf´s creative application (as always!) even more so. Fantastic cymbal sounds, too!
Here for Ralph! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Thank you very much Saverio! :)
Beautiful looking drums especially the cymbals and that gorgeous sound of the last kit, a worthy opponent for Roland.🖤
This affordable set sounds fantastic! Especially the cymbals!
On a side note: "What do you actually do all day, Ralf?!"
Every time a new video comes out, you play even more beautifully than before! An impressive development! All respect!
Thank you very much Markus :)
2.8k affordable?
@@wm1573 yes, for example in comparison to drumtec pro with a Roland td30, which plays in a similar league.
This kit actually sounds pretty good!
The drumming is out of this world. WOW. Very inspiring. Thank you.
Thank you very much! :) you can find more drumming/music & sound demos on my private channel too if you like:
th-cam.com/users/digitaldrumming
Kind regards!
I have tried all the e kits and modules. This is my favorite realistic sounds and feel
Wow these sounds are something else.
wow look and sound 10/10!
Ralf is the best salesman ever- I bet the number of sales his playing is responsible for is through the roof!
Thank you so much! :-D
Back for a second comment. I honestly think this is the nicest looking and sounding e-kit on the market.
:-D
Holy shit these sound good!!!
The stock sounds on that module sound really great.
Your unboxing videos are the only ones worth watching! Thanks 🤩
Thank you very much, that's great to hear!
add brushes and I'm in... I'm playing on a 1964 Slingerland kit w a Ludwig snare and I have used Gretsch, Yamaha, Rodgers, Ludwig kits over the years and this EF NOTE is amazing. I still gig and do session work and brushes are a must. You can do this!
Still after all these years only Roland support brushes
Very realistic. I notice a little machine gunning on the snare rim but hardly noticable. I really dig the 8" splash.
Incredible kit!
Beautiful sounding kits
I need these in my life
Kit sounds great! Super demo playing as well.
Thank you very much! :)
Really Good Sounds. Also the drumming was great at 4:30
Wow, this is the first demo I've seen where they sound really good. That's a lot of kit for the money. The hardware doesn't look cheap either.
Thank you Robyn!
I have this kit. For the money, it is incredible. The sounds are very realistic and ACTUALLY sound good, unlike so many modules that manage to only sample trash ass drums. The dynamics are very good. The cymbals, especially, are surreal tbh. There is minor machine gunning, but having played the kit for a month, it really isn't that noticeable. The touch screen module works great, and the set looks really sharp.
It's amazing to me how Roland can charge $60,000 for their high end drum sets. To tell you the truth, THIS SET IS BETTER. Straight up. It's better. The sounds are better. They actually name the exact drum and cymbal being sampled in the module. And, what do know? They actually recorded nice, dry, modern sounding cymbals and tight snares that crack. Not some tingy, brilliant bullshit cymbals and weird cheap rock snares. The feel and playability is just as good, if not better. The module is like a kindle, instead of some giant box full of buttons like it was built in the 90's. The kit actually looks nice. The sizes are a little small, but EF Note will be releasing larger sizes. They also offer updates with the module, to constantly introduce new sounds. It's just a better kit. Period. And a fraction of the cost. This company is like ATV 2.0.
Can you add more pads to it ? Does it look strong enought for metal drumming ?
@@lightz3201 Yea i think you can add an extra tom or 2 and 2 or 3 extra cymbals. The sounds are pretty versatile, but suited mostly for jazz and funk. You could always get drum software, though for metal.
can you play with real brushes?
First time hearing this brand/model and I'm totally shocked. Totally thinking about recommending this to churches/rehearsal studios that is looking for e-drums
Wow, those cymbals sound better to my ears than anything in that +/-500 price range. The snare however is a little more machine gunney than I hoped for. But overall incredible value for the money.
Just learned that this the E drum that I have found that fully simulates SNARES OFF and its amazing :D
Sounds is great! but the hit hat is 😍💯.
I'd been looking forward to that, so I'm happy🤩
im going to wait for the part outs and buy the snare and module! maybe the cymbals too!!
The pads/cymbals/module are already available from drum-tec separately (we ship internationally) :-D

Looks enormously good!
that's one sweet sounding electronic kit - now just to convince the wife to let me buy one lol
:-D
Cymbals sound very real but the toms and snare have the machine gun effect. Not as good as the TD-17KVX. IMO. Looks better though
@@lotusmanb3832 this kit also has 8 channels of USB audio simul with full USB midi. 4 ch analog out. 360 degree, 3 zone cymbals. 3 zone snare... there’s really no comparison there. All of the new sweetwater vids on the new VAD kits have machine gunning in the toms as well, and even snare at times. It’s how you play them.
@@listener84 That all being true , I personally don't care for the sounds or the tracking of the snare or toms. The cymbals are amazing,. Maybe it 's just this particular video but I always like Ralphs presentations. Just not this one.
Great sound, great playing - good to have many brands to choose from!
Great sound
Very, very, very good. Unfortunately we did not find these brands here in Brazil.
Hey Luis, we ship internationally :)

Kind regards!
This guy makes drumming look so easy
Thank you! :)
Very nice!
Yop. I need one. Close your eyes. I finally can imagine this is not electronic drums “feel” that much as I do for the others
Great job on this!
Thank you!
come here just to mesmerize the sweet grooves...
Thank you very much! :)
It is kinda unfortunate they decided to no longer stick with having a 20” ride cymbal but the kit looks amazing and hard to beat for the price, amazing playing as always as well.
Also really like they have a snares off kit, seems like most companies don’t even bother with having a snares off option
I think it might still be on the table with the upcoming EF Note 7 series.
uuf what beautiful sounds of this module, those kind of companies could beat Roland if they release more accesible drum kits like the Roland TD 17
hey Rex, we will also be uploading a demo of the EFNOTE 3 kit shortly, which is the "smaller brother" of the 5:
www.drum-tec.com/efnote-3-e-drum-kit
Nice play
Thank you Jabez! :)
Amazing sounding kit and nice image as almost a natural set!!! But at these price levels who waits something different???
Stupenda complimenti al Batterista comunque
Mille Gracie Roberto! :)
amazing!
Wowo, great sounding. But the first kit seemed to machine gun a little. The "Maple shells" kit sounds like Tama.
14 inch hi hats. Check. Real drum shells. Check. 18 inch ride (bit small but checkish). Sounds superior to everything Roland has ever put out? Check. Annnnnnd a 12 inch snare and floor tom. Dang. Maybe the pricing is reasona... :(.
So close guys. You were so close. Fantastic playing as always.
Thank you! :)
Hey sounds like Ralph has been working on some Benny Greb grooves ;)
Hey Brice, not on purpose actually, but thank you very much! Benny Greb is a great drummer :)
Geil! Gefällt mir.
Nice! The ATV lineage is pretty obvious.
If I get back into drumming. This will be my route. No deviation.
A couple of reviews have said that it lacks decent eq, compression. But if it can be multi-outputted via usb, surely, while an added expense, via a USB into Digital mixer (eg Behringer XR18 or RCF M18) you could achieve this. Plus you'd have better eq and effect controls. Now that would really bring it to life! Perhaps an idea for a future video Ralph?
Hey Stephen, as far as I know the EFNOTE5 module has built in 8out/2in audio interface functionality, so you wouldn't even necessarily need a mixer to get the signals into the DAW for further mixing/processing, but might hook up the module directly to your computer. This is a nice feature for sure when working in the studio/at home, for live use you'd still be depending on the onboard eq/fx though. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV yeah I’ve just realised what I’m suggesting I don’t think is possible. The 8 out/2 back is really for use with a DAW and not a digital mixer (with an interface capability) at least I assume so.
Wonder how this HH compares to new Roland's digital HH...and to ATV'S HH, which seems to have very similar design
Great paly and sound!! How difficult is assemble the drum, and how silent in teh drum when you play with headphone, becouse i want to practice in a flat?
Wow, nice. This could really give ATV a run for its money, it’s cheaper than the Artist series and you get some nice acoustic sounds. How durable is EF Note’s gear? Can you tweak sounds inside the module? But the real question here is when are we getting Ralf jamming on the Roland TD-50x?? We all want to see it!!
I really liked the little EF Note kit actually :) and I'd love to do some demos on the new Roland kits, but unfortunately until now there are no kits in Germany sadly. Kind regards!
That's what I'm waiting to see too.....Ralf getting it in on the new Roland VAD 706 set!!!!
Will the cymbals be available seperatly some time soon? Would love to add that 8"-splash to my set
Hi Björn, I guess we will be offering separate pads/cymbals in the near future from www.drum-tec.com! Kind regards
Have bought one of these and love it. Can I use it as an acoustic kit without having to remove the trigger loop?
Hey Michael, no that's not possible, acoustic heads will do harm to the trigger systems. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV ok
Ok I did wonder. Thanks for your expert advice.
Very nice. Are there enough inputs to add a second crash to that setup?
Hey Scott, you can find more info on the kit & module over here:
www.drum-tec.com/efnote-5-e-drum-kit
Kind regards!
Hi, thank you for this video! Will you sell the EF Note 5X as well?
Hey Gerard, yes as soon as it will be available here in Germany! :)
and not a single bad note was played that day...
:-D
What I love about this E-kit is that it has a 14’ Hi-hat which makes it feel very natural compared to the other 12’ hi-hats - 9’ inch
Hey Raul, yeah the hihat is nice! But also Roland has the new VH-14D now and there's the ATV 14" hats too, so lots of great options depending on your sound module. Kind regards!
Rhino ROV / Evo Slider. Viele Grüße!
Some kits sound very acoustic, realistic. The 8" splash is a nice and welcomed addition to the ATV cymbal family... oops, I mean EF NOTE 😉 Are they available separately for purchase?
I guess that separate pads & cymbals will be available from drum-tec in the near future, you might get in touch through service@drum-tec.de to get more info. Kind regards!
Is this recorded with 2 analog outputs?
That thing sounds very nice actually...but then again it´s Ralf playing it
;-D thank you!
Nice kit but I bet Ralf can make even cardboard sound great. These drum samples are superior to anything else on the market right now. Clean and punchy.
Thank you Paul! :-D
Una super batteria
It’s 2021 and time to make all edrums as acoustic design and and have multipe zones...and of coz at a reasonable price from cheap to expensive options as an acoustic drumset
You are absolutely right, and there already are tons of options! Have you already checked out our website www.drum-tec.com? Kind regards!
Le flood tom n'est pas terrible en revanche un bon travail sur les cymbales bravo.
Hi. Are you planning to sell pads or cymbals separately?
Hey David, yes I guess at some point in the near future drum-tec will be offering separate pads/cymbals too. Kind regards!
You play so good, Ralf! Nice sound!!! Are the Efnote cymbals compatible with Roland modules(analog mode)?
Thank you very much Eduard! As far as I know, all EFNOTE cymbals are fully Roland/ATV compatible, except the hihat, which has a different sensor/connector. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV danke!
Why Roland VAD 706 is more expensive?
Tönt super! Wie wurde das aufgenommen?
Hi Jochen, stereo out aus dem Modul direkt ins RME Interface / Macbook Pro / Logic Pro X. Du hörst im Video die original stereo Spur ohne weitere Bearbeitung, viele Grüße!
Does this kit have the variable hi-hat compression sounds? (when you push harder on the pedal) I think the td50 rolands have it.
Hey Justin, you can find detailed info on the kit & module over here:
www.drum-tec.com/efnote-5-e-drum-kit
www.drum-tec.com/modules/efnote
Kind regards!
I am not impressed with the drums they seem to machine gun but the HH seems great. Is it as good as mimic or roland cymbals?
Hi Steve, the EFNOTE 5 module unfortunately has no alternating round robin samples, hence the slight machine gunning on rolls. The hihat plays great, but currently is only compatible with the EFNOTE modules, because it has a different sensor/connector than Roland/ATV etc. The other EFNOTE cymbals are 100% Roland compatible as far as I know:
www.drum-tec.com/cymbals/efnote
Please feel free to get in touch through service@drum-tec.de fior further info, kind regards!
Hey Ralf - Is there really a more realistic hi hat on the market? I don't believe so...
Hey John, the EFNOTE hihat plays great, but unfortuntaley is not yet compatible with other sound modules (because of the different sensor/connector). The new Roland VH-14D plays/feels great and the 14" ATV also is a nice option in my opinion, if you are looking for a sturdy pop/rock feel hihat. The triggering / dynamics of all those is depending on the module & settings a lot too. Kind regards!
we can use any hi-hat stand right?
We can't guarantee, that every possible hi-hat stand will be working, but there shouldn't be any problems with conventional hi-hat stands.
Hello I just want to know if this module can to put on isample sound downloaded or bye from music stores? Thanks
What?
@drumtecTV Is superior drummer compatible with this?, tbh if not I reckon in the next year or so.
Hi Oli, the module has midi out, so you can trigger external sounds with it too. Not sure about the mapping for EFNOTE modules inside Superior Drummer though, I haven't tried this yet. Kind regards!
Wow
Is it strong enought to play metal on ? There’s few e kit able to survive this genre !
Hi, I wouldn't recommend this kit for hard rock or metal drumming. The feel & sizes just wouldn't quite feel right :-D you might check out the new bigger EFNOTE 7 line (demos coming some time soon) or the 100% Roland compatible drum-tec diabolo / pro series, which you can pair wiuth a sound module of your choice:

Кухня блеск мечта всей моей жизни
Sounds fantastic! But who wants a 16" KICK???
Anybody that needs to haul their kit around :) Although I would have loved to see a 14/12/14/20 setup myself.
Although it's small, it plays great :) kind regards!
Nobody. To me it ruins the whole look of the kit. I think newer versions are bigger.
Great. And the price is......??
www.drum-tec.com/efnote-5-e-drum-kit
Kind regards!
Hey, is it possible to purchase this nice 8-inch splash lifter separately. What if you do not have a 6-inch electronic splash lifter?
Hi, yes you can usually get all separate pads & cymbals from www.drum-tec.com, but the EFNOTE splash is currently out of stock. You might check out the 10" ATV splash as an alternative:
www.drum-tec.com/atv-adrums-artist-cymbal-10
Or you might get in touch through service@drum-tec.de and receive an info on when the EFNOTE splash is available again. Kind regards!
Will the Roland modules work with it also? What is the retail price
Hi Karen, you can find more info on the kit over here:
www.drum-tec.com/efnote-5-e-drum-kit
Please feel free to get in touch through service@drum-tec.de concerning compatibility questions! Kind regards
My cymbals and hihat doesn’t sound like this. Kinda struggling on tuning them. Will someone help me? Also i wanna know how you record the sound directly as you mentioned. Hope you’ll respond.
Hi, the audio was taken directly from the module's stereo output & recorded in Logic Pro X on a Macbook, no further processing. So you should be able to get these exact sounds, kind regards!
Is ATV back? It really looks like them. Even the website looks like it.
It's been reported that the engineers behind EF Note came from ATV. I'd believe that - the similarities are striking.
@@o0m0j They came from Roland, confirmed at the show(NAMM), when I checked them out at their booth..
is there any way to add more cymbals/pads on this module ?
Hey Axel, you can find more info on the kit & module over here:
www.drum-tec.com/efnote-5-e-drum-kit
Kind regards!
What is you rolling camera? Been trying to find one...
Hey Mario, well not the camera itself is rolling :) it's 4 motion slider units that are in use around the kit. Kind regards!
Got it.. thanks!
Why there only two toms?
You can check out the other kit configurations like the FNOTE 5X for example:
www.drum-tec.com/efnote-5x-e-drum-kit
Kind regards!
Sir I want what is the price of this
www.drum-tec.com/efnote-5-e-drum-kit
Kind regards!
I sounds better then the ATV AD-5 module, a little bit of machine gunning, but less then the AD-5 module.
Hihat sounds amazing and is very responsive. Cymbals sounds are amazing too!
Toms snare and kick could better.
They did not have enough layers...
Just like ATV....
So overal its sounds a little bit better then the AD-5 module.
But its not perfect.
I'd say most of the tom and snare sounds are not amazing, but there are a couple that are really damn good.
Is this a new video, the old one had a lot of machine gunning, this one is sounding better but still a lot machine gunning on toms.................. and 12"snare and 12" floortom looks more like a toy drum to me (I guess Ralph is not a very tall guy ;-) )
Hi, well I consider my size pretty "standard" (it's 1,80 meters) :) In the end it's how you set up the kit to make you feel comfortable. I agree that the kit might look a little funny with a 2 meters drummer sitting behind it though :) kind regards!
