@@kinsine Uh, I actually am a percussionist. I'm just not a good one, nor a knowledgeable one. I don't see a reason for your comment really, especially since it was wrong.
@@dark-san. You maybe play marimba from school and call yourself "percussionist" becausea like, how tf do you work with rythms and music figures and not know what a 32nd note is. Dude, wtf
Hey bro, nice vid! Hope you dont mind I suggest a fun switch up for this exercise. Play the variations with 1 hand between the transitions. Example FOR 8TH NOTE RLRLRLRL | RRRRRRRR LRLRLRLR | LLLLLLLLL Etc
Is a harder pad better than a pad with more rebound? Sometimes I use both simultaneously , but than I switch to the snare drum and have to re grip to accommodate the head’s rebound
I would say, if you’re trying to mimic the feel of a snare trying to use a pad that isn’t extremely bouncy. There’s always going to be a weird transition when you go from pad to snare.
They're not even the right hand sounds more dominant & better 2 practice with the sound off the strobe will sharpen ur eye hand coordination 100 percent this is definitely the Old School way of all the true Masters that have paved the way. So Drop'em in Da' Pocket! And just another suggestion you need that sweet old Traditional Grip!!!
@@SkinnyGeorgedamn sorry you had to read through that grammar 😅 He does make a valid point about the consistency in hit sound. It's the most challenging part, and there aren't many vids on it. You probably already practice this, but notice how different the dynamics are compared to 8th note at the start and then your 32nd notes near the end? Also, I do agree, but it sounds like your right hand is playing noticeably louder than your left. Exception is your 32nd notes. The dyanmics were perfect there. Timing is great. You can tell the pitch of the two hits before the 32nd are different though I practice this by switching from singles into doubles and making them sound exactly the same. It took me about 3 years of practicing 2 hours a day to get to a level I'm mildly content with.
Ugh, traditional is so out dated. I wouldn't even advocate traditional grip to jazz drummers nowadays. Moeller + push pull technique alternating between a German and American grip is far superior to achieve speed + power. Problem with traditional grip is that it sounds incredibly underwhelming
@@fcarmelaca2910 for sure you can. Just start at a tempo that works for you. And make sure to focus on each one separately until you feel comfortable. You’ll killing it in no time.
