I just took my Chesters off yesterday and put on the Oneup composites I bought from y'all. Haven't ridden them yet, but I felt like the Chesters were a little small for my size 12. Never had issues with them though.

I use the Chester’s when I’m not running clipless pedals. I like them a lot but would like to try the one up composite pedals just for fun. I don’t think you can go wrong either way

Kudos to that :) Chesters are not a bad option by any mean but for the same price One Up offers much more.
The only missing feature is the wide colour variety which the Chesters offer.

These are great pedals for the price. I've had the chance to ride these on a few demo bikes and have no complaints. Enough grip and they get the job done, plus they come in a variety of cool colors.

I ride with chesters, came off of clipless pedals. The difference is insane! I feel so confident hitting jumps and turns, it's awesome.

I ride them and I love them! The other day I smashed the pins full speed into a rock which should have broke them easily, but they’re totally fine now. The pedal itself is also great, I ride a lot of tech, and it has a good amount of grip and very durable. I actually like the composite over metal because I have a lot of pedal strikes

I bought a pair of these with my new bike about 3 months ago because I couldn't decide what pedal I wanted and these were the cheapest they had at the shop. I have been super impressed and I have decided to just keep these on the bike.

I have run Chesters before on a couple bikes. For the price there is nothing better. There are some other good options like the OneUp pedals but still, Chesters are bullet proof and I just trust them.

  • @9909surfer1
    @9909surfer1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Also like to add that Chesters come in a wider range of colors and are slightly cupped verses the one-ups where the spindle is slightly raised I personally like it cupped

I rock these on my santa Cruz Bronson and just got a pair for my girlfriend, we both wear vans with them and they are super grippy. I can bunny hop with ease. She's not there yet but at least she'll be set up for it when she wants to learn. Really awesome pair of pedals.

I've been using them for a long time and they hold up just fine. I like them I'm not into clip pedals these are good all-around pedals. I commute on my bike and ride probably 100 miles a week sometimes

Cheers Guys, I used a set of Chester pedals on my old bike-they were Pretty damn solid, but now on my new bike I am using a set of OneUp Composites...in my eye they are even better as the Plattform i a bit wider an bigger, but the Chester is really solid, too.

I agree, it's a great budget composite pedal. After riding Race Face Atlas ($130 granted), I didn't find the Chester to be quite as concave and grippy. mbr magazine (UK publication) Jan 2018 gave great reviews to the HT PA03A (35 pounds) but I haven't tried them.

  • @LifebyBertie

Deity had really good ones made out of composite, very nice green color with that real nice old logo on it! I believe they stepped away from that, parts and jersey’s with the old logo are hard to come by sadly enough but I loved there pedals. Running DMR’s now, great set but more expensive, should have gone for Chester’s!

    Great video, Jeff.
I'm using the Catalyst Pedals by Pedaling Innovations (James Wilson). I really like these, and I feel that their performance is in line with the company's claims.
Before that I was on Race Face Aeffect pedals, which I also really liked, but I prefer the longer platform on the Catalysts, especially when standing.
I also have a set of Crank Brothers Mallet DH pedals, but haven't used those in over 18 months because I prefer flat pedals.

Another sick deal is the HT PA03 Pedals or OneUp Components. These 2 are more concave and have a few more pins for riders who like even more grip.
I have had cheaters but now ride with HT PA03 pedals I bought from worldwide cyclery for $49. They still look new after a year of smashing rocks. And they have rebuild kits too.

  • @gogomtb1

looks like a worthy opponent to the OneUp pedals. I ride Brendogs DMR since years and love 'em. But, believe it or not, they can become a bit too wide for non-DH shoes from time to time. That's why I'm highly considering these or OneUp for my Enduro. Thanks for the details! : D

I bought my pair last August. I've ridden on approx 20+ rides with them. They are ok, but was shocked have them go bad so quick. The seal went out in one of them at the beginning of the year. I just ordered new bearing set. I do like them but the are not that reliable. The kit is expensive, $23, and that's just the bearings. Hopefully this fixes it or I'll have to buy a different brand.

I guess just an issue of pedal shots, but wouldn't have expected them to deteriorate this quickly. Would alloy pedals help me out with pedal shots? I ride a lot of technical / rocky terrain.
