    Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! Well done video -- love how you point with your figures to show what to pay attention to. Gave me the confidence to take mine apart, then pull the wire connectors off the broken On/Off switch and solder them together. Now my coffee grinder works again😀

      😆 literally just did the the same. I normally don't have problems taking things apart, but the knob and button didn't come to mind.

    Thanks so much! We used this guide to disassemble a wilfa wscg-2 coffee grinder that had a stone stuck in it. The guide made it a lot easier!

    I'll add my voice to the chorus: thank you so much for making this video. As you said, it applies perfectly to Wilfa grinders as well... and it's a life saver.

    Hey thanks for the nice disassembly. I was stuck at getting the assembly out then saw that the knobs had to come off. So thanks for that! There's a few "gotchas" in disassembling these machines. The button extender can fall out and get lost. The grinder cone has to be seated correctly to be able to go up and down. "I figure that the bean bowl turns a ring inside, but I cant see any mechanic change between the grinders.." That assembly has to be installed correctly to allow the cone to engage the helix that makes it go up and down as you turn the bean hopper.

    Many thanks for this. Have. Wilfa that got a stone trapped in the teeth. Looking at how the grinder teeth was supposed unwind I gave it a gentle tap with hammer and the end of an adaptable screwdriver. Came loose immediately and works a treat now. Thanks again.

    Thanks a ton for this helpful video, I referenced it a few times over the years.
    Want to add a small hint: when re-assembling the case, the outer casing (the metal part, the one that comes off at 4:14) needs to slide back inside the plastic "base" all the way and on all sides and corners. The outer part is not great at holding its shape and so it's real easy to put them back together "wrong", which means you then get a few milimeters of play that should not be there, could open it up for dirt/dust/moisture, and may even warp the frame (I suspect this is what happened on machines where people are experiencing the loud screaming noise when turning it on).

    Thanks for the video - this completely applies to Wilfa grinders too, because for some weird reason they completely share the design.

    Many thanks for posting this dismantle video. The largely superfluous rocker power switch on ours finally completely disintegrated - having been loose since shortly after purchase, eons ago - and I had to bypass it, as spares are not available anyway. I was having a problem wondering how to pull the grinder apart. Subscribed!

      hi, I had the rocker on/off switch break too. Emailed Breville direct, after a couple of emails back and forth, the new rocker switch part is on its way. They must have found one in the back somewhere. Give that a try if you still require this part. Contact Michelle Robinson at Breville askus@brevilleusa.com "part number SP0010081, the On/Off Switch. It is $5.59, plus tax" Good luck.

      Hi what do you mean by rocket power switch? Pls

    • @edberney1162
      @edberney1162 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ram-qs6ed: many thanks for the offer, but I hardly used the switch and fear that a replacement will likely follow the same failure route and finish up inside again. With a bit of soldering and some heat-shrink tubing I just did away with the switch.

      @@KevsGuide: it is the power on/off switch (as opposed to a switch) which is at the opposite end to the ground coffee output bin. It is not absolutely needed since the grinder is activated by a secondary timed push-button switch.

      @edberney1162 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KevsGuide : that should have said "it is the Rocker power on/off switch (as opposed to a Toggle switch) which is at the opposite end to the ground coffee output bin. It is not absolutely needed since the grinder is activated by a secondary timed push-button switch." (You Tube apparently does not accept underlined words).

    Thanks so much, worked perfectly for my Wilfa CGWS-130B! Could you also put Wilfa model in the description so that people can find it more easily?
    While taking off the case at 4:12 be extra careful, the upper part that goes off is a plastic part wrapped in big strip of metal. They've come apart and I had a lot of trouble putting it back together and cut myself badly coz' metal is very sharp :D. Otherwise awesome disassemble video!

    When I put the bean hopper back on, it only rotates the wrong way, meaning the settings spin away from the fixed line on the front. Any suggestions on how to fox that?

    Easy video to follow but it stops just as it was becoming most useful, ie. how to get to the lower burr grinder to remove stuck coffee grounds. The lower burr grinder cannot be unscrewed so there must be a way to get to it from below. You point out the screws but not what happens after you remove them. Wish you could complete the disassembly.

    I have this model and need parts. Here is what I found when I visited the Breeville web site: "There are currently no parts available for the BCG450XL, Conical Burr Grinder™". So, buyer beware.

    Hi Alexis, I´ve just bought a used wilfa grinder, but I cannot get to grind anything else but coarse. Any suggestions? I have the same problem too. Have you found what was the issue ?

    • @tangowood
      @tangowood 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pieuvre42 thanks for asking. I can't remember precisely, but I believe the problem was the top grinder (see 0:37) which is embedded in a plastic frame. That frame has two pointy somewhat flimsy plastic spacers, one which was broken off.
      I tried to make some modifications, but without long term success.
      You can order the top grinder unit, I chose not to, because of overall cost and that flimsy design. Instead I send the grinder to enternal rest. I must admit I still dream of a Wilfa, they are neat to look at.
      If you have better success, let us know 🤓
      Good luck!

    As I see from the video, they are not meant to be home repairable. What a pitty for such a good grinder. Knowing this I would buy baratza encore.
