I love seeing this. The Birria Tacos looked very tasty, and the portions look big. I definitely want to try these. I am glad you made the distinctions when ordering. The people in Puerto Vallarta have it made. Thanks.
Thx you guys, I actually did check out Tio Toño on your recomm and it became one of my go-to places to eat. Although my top fave birriería is that one right next to Lay's in Cinco. Here's an idea for you, should you feel up to it: a carnitas/tacos de carnita tour! I'll start: there is a super-hopping place right next to the stadium, just off the main drag. I hear they just expanded from being a very literal hole in the wall with chairs out in the street to being a sit-down place.
Thank you :) We've been to the one behind Ley's a few times (where the parking garage is). There is actually 2 and we've been to both - they're both great. Carnitas would be good! I already have 5 in mind we could show lol. I'll check out the place near the stadium.
Enjoyed your birria video. We usually arrive in PV around noon if driving through Mascota, so we usually our first stop is Tio Toños for birria or Pepe’s Tacos for al pastor. Will have to try out Manas and Robles in Pitillal in a couple weeks. Can’t wait! We also like La Matona taco place next door to Tio Toños. If you order the ‘La Matona’ you need to share it with someone. Machuk2 Tacos in Versalles also good.
BIG SCREEN COLLEGE FOOTBALL ALABAMA vs LSU, SATURDAY NOVEMBER 9th Kick Off 6:30PM, Torteria del Puerto, Brasilia 274 (acroos the street from The Sheraton) Great Tortas! B.Y.O.B.
I also thought Chanfay was just ok. Perhaps because there are not many Birria places in ZR, they get a bump from that? When they told me they didn't serve it with cilantro that was an automatic -1 point. Great tip for getting fresh tacos by ordering medio!
Honestly we had to wait in line to get in and order and that’s always a red flag lol I think that’s why it’s popular there they might not have as many, they were doing food tours when we were there!
This was a great video to watch. It showed us that the places we might walk past, might actually be the Best places.! Easy to watch and entertaining. been watching and subscribed for a long time... First comment. Congrats!! The channel is Growing.
This is the 2nd video I've watched today that has mentioned El Tio Tono! The first one was by a guy in Mexico City and now MLD has it in their video. Must be a pretty well-known place!
I haven't been to any of the Birriarias you have been to. I would like to try them. My favorite is in Versalles. Birriaria Don Pancho cart with sit in tables. Corner of Viena and Niza. They were my first and I haven't liked any I've tried anywhere else as much as Don Pancho's. I think they put cinnamon or anise in it, just a touch, but makes all of the difference. I order them blandito with onion and cilantro and of course the consomme. With a nice aguas fresca. I hope you check them out. I just subscribed. 😊
Going to be back in PV, for our 2nd time, in February (for a whole month). The apartment we are renting is right around the corner from taqueria mana, so for sure we will try it. I'd also like to try Birrieria Robles 'El Lic' in Pittial, and it looks like we can hop a bus near our apartment to easily get there. 3 months until we arrive, but already salivating ! I tried birria once on our last visit, but not sure if it was the best place. I appreciate your tip about dorado vs medio dorado; I didn't know about that. But 2 questions I still have: 1. Am I correct in assuming that birria is just for breakfast or lunch? (in other words, these places close early afternoon?) 2. I understand birria can be goat (more traditional) or beef. If that is correct, do these places offer both options, and if so, which would you recommend?
Mana and El Lic are must try top 3 for us so far! You’re right typically it’s breakfast food - a lot of stands will go until they sell out which is typically noon - sit down places will go until a little bit later. Traditionally it’s made with goat which is the absolute best but not always offered. Definitely opt for the goat at El Lic and they also have it at Tio Toño the place we shot the video at!
Hello in Guadalajara the beast birria is the goat is more delicilious i am mexicican and i recomemded if you going to pv ,visit Guadalaraja. it has menú crear foot that yoi must taste

When I make tacos I make them medio dorada. Just slightly crispy. Didn't know that's what it was called but now I do!
I like to mix it up! 2 dorados and 2 medios 😊
