You all did some work! Also I love that you said oh don’t worry I will fill this 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You inspire me so much to can I’m so excited this year to learn 🎉
Thank you so much Courtney! Hahaha...I have so many projects planned but I really think I need to clone myself. Between my job, Etsy, TH-cam, Canning, Cleaning, Gardening and all the things I am not sure if I can get it all done! LOL
It is a great way to adjust your stockpile based on who you have living in the house and save money at the same time. I am sure you have plenty to last you awhile although cheese is essential to happiness 😊 Good luck finding the deals on what you need going forward.
Yes...it is definitely so strange to not have that teenager eating all the things he always had. LOL! So funny that we barely use ketchup without him home!! LOL
WOW! Y'all are doing great! One good thing about having a well-stocked pantry is that you go to the store and only need to buy one or two cans/boxes of something instead of 12 (unless there is a great sale 😊). I used to wait until I was nearly out of something ... or completely out ... and then have to spend extra money that week to fill in the gaps. Sometimes the item wasn't stocked or the store was low. And, of course, everything was more expendive.
My family is condiment people to. I’m so over my door and shelves full of various condiments 😂 my pantry is no where as big as yours I love how you wrote the dates on everything I’m going to start doing that. Such a small thing I never thought of we do rotate pretty good but still good to have it written big and up front ❤
Love it! Since you’re big ice tea drinkers you might be interested in canning sweetened ice tea concentrate..I just remembered I did this 3-yrs ago😇..I will try it real soon but thought I would mention it.. I can’t wait for next month when while hams and corn beef goes on sale I will be canning a lot this year..WE love it..I will be canning corned beef hash which is another favorite of ours..I think I will try canning a few jars of corn beef with cabbage and potatoes to see if we like it..
Wow...I have never heard of canning a tea concentrate! Interesting!! Hmmm...my husband loves corned beef hash, me not so much. LOL...do you have a certain recipe you use?
I was worried about your pantry challenge because your store is so expensive except for sales. You did great! I bought a car and other things in December, so I have been doing low spend (deep rotations) since. Limited best by 4th quarter of ‘23 still to go.
Our store is so expensive, but I think we knocked this challenge out of the park. I am going to try to do another pantry challenge again this year to ensure we use up the items in our pantry!
I having been building this pantry for years...I do not spend crazy amounts at the grocery store. When items go on sale I will purchase multiples for my pantry. Living in a small town with one grocery store means there are times when I can't even buy some things locally. For this challenge you saw that I spent very little money for food.
You did an amazing job!! I'm the same about the best buy dates. Some items you can't even tell the difference. ❤ What does Moose taste like? Also, how did you learn how/what to can? Have you thought about coming out with a Marlene cookbook? I have so many questions. Lol🤗 Wanna send me some apple butter? Lol It's too expensive to buy and I really enjoy it. 😂
Hey hey Toni! Thank you so much!! Ummm...moose tastes like moose. LOL...it is similar to bison and beef. So yummy! Oh no time for a cookbook. For canning, I learned some of it from my grandma. But honestly, I learn a ton from TH-camrs. Love watching canning challenges and canning videos! You should make your own apple butter! It really is easy...just need some time for the apples to cook down!!
💪🤗💚. I'd love a video of how to can 🍄. Canned from the store are so expensive. Bone broth is one of the best ways I get my nutrients. My husband has a "shot" of chocolate syrup every night. We can rarely find the big bottles. It's interesting what items are easier or harder to find depending on where you live.
Im a seasoned canner but love to watch other people can up yummy jars of food. . Lol.. Broth is very easy to can.. You can make your own copycat version of Hershey's chocolate just thought you should know.. I found many copycat recipes that most wouldnt think of such as corn syrup, jiffys corn bread mix, Dream whip to pumpkin pie spice.. I make sure to print out a copy of the recipe so I always have it..
@@Fritz0616 Thank You for letting me know. Unfortunately theirs not a lot I would be able to can. Our daughter is picky, my husband doesn't like a lot of things and I can only eat 1/2-1Cup of food at a time. 98% of my diet is liquid, so most everything has to be fresh or frozen
I actually have footage of me canning mushrooms! I plan on putting the footage into a video one of these days. I buy the big bottles of Chocolate syrup through Sam's Club.
@@SnowGardener I can't wait to watch and learn. I've been freezing zucchini, yellow squash and 🥕. We accidentally ran out of olive oil a few days ago. Bought them and didn't realize we're out. 🤞 they'll taste alright cooked from frozen. I don't care if they'll mushy. Hopefully easier for my body to digest.
U have enough to feed an army only chocking your. Kids need to visit u more often and shop at your pantry and freezers that would help u out a lot and them
My kiddos live 100 miles away so they don't get to shop the pantry as much as they would like. Hahaha! The pantry is getting better as far as amounts we can use prior to best buy dates.

So true! Yes...I definitely try to only stock up when items are on sale. I hate paying full price!!
Your pantries are amazing! You're doing a good job keeping everything organized and stocked.
Thanks so much! 😊
You guys did so well working through the pantry/freezers!
Thank you so much Becca!
Nice job!!
Thank you!
Marlene, this was so awesome to see! ❤🎉
Thank you so much!!

Thank you! You too!
Omg ! You can skip the stores for the whole year !! Such amazing job.
Hahaha...I hope to never have to skip the stores for a whole year, but it is nice to have a stocked pantry.

Also I need to Marinate and freeze meet this is genius I bet it would make meal planning and prepping a thousand times easier
Oh the condiments are outta control! LOL...yes I love having those dates where I can read them from across the room! LOL
Marinating and freezing meats saves so much time and yes it helps make meal planning so much easier!!
@@SnowGardener I’m still new to this channel do you have any videos on marinate and freezing? I’ve never gone before so I’m anxious
Looks like you could do a low money challenge for the rest of the year but I’m so happy you don’t need to🎉
Yes, Charla!! LOL...it is nice to not have to be on a low money challenge any more.

Iced tea concentrate is on my "to can" list! I ran across the recipe a few months ago.
I've made strawberry lemonade concentrate, too. So good!

You might be able to buy the missing drawer for your fridge, I’ve been able to buy a shelf for my ten year old fridge when it broke
Crystal, the fridge wasn't supposed to have a drawer, I just couldn't believe it didn't have one. LOL...I need a cheese drawer! LOL
