    "Not something you'd want to eat on its own" I've come back to this video so many times making these onions, literally just to eat the onions. Lol my plan is always to add them to a dish but I end up eating most of them before I even get to making the dish. They're just so good.

    My great grand daughter who is 3 1/2yr old loves to watchthe demonstration of your recipes.She says "yummy" she keeps asking me your name and I told her I will find out( I know it ) because she will feel thrilled when I show her your reply and read it for her She can't read yet.She likes to watch your recipes and grand father's kitchen and Paatti's preparation . Patti is the oldest Indian chef lady.Thanks for having patience to go through my mail and reply

    Thanks for the idea. I found it is most effective way with less amount of oil compared to others. Outcome was perfect as desired.

    Wow, that was nice, I usually did it by frying them in huge amounts of oil like you fry fritters. This looks more controlled. I will definitely try it next time. Thanks.

    Chef you first fried the onions on high, covered it until the moisture started coming out, then once you take out the lid you put it on low. When the onions turned brown the stove was still on low, when you took out the onions was the gas still on low. Sorry for asking so many questions

    I know I should do this; I have 40 lbs of organic red onions. Gonna take forever but it will be so fabulous to have them on hand in the freezer. These look amazing!

    I m surprised to see that u did it using so less oil!! Too good👍. Can u share a tip how to make them crispy. The onions that I fry go limp after some time. Any tip please

      Fry it in medium flame and let it cool down well after frying. They can be limp after frying but once they get into room temperature it shall be okay. 👍

      As soon as you see that golden color immediately take them out from the pan as it keeps getting darker with the residual heat even when taken out of the pan . Do not wait for it to turn too dark in the oil. Once the onions soften down and start clumping up reduce your heat to the lowest possible mark & keep stirring as chef showed.

    Tried with 1.3 kg onion in cooker vessel and result was amazing . In between I felt it got fkd up . But at last it was brown and crispy ❤️

    I didn't know that birista can be made in this way! I used to heat a lot of oil and fry finely sliced onions in batches. It used to take time & of course, care.

    Finally! I've been asking around my Muslim friends how to do this....do they add rice flour or sugar do they take away the core of the onion...multiple queries and suggestions. I'll try your way...simple and best. I hope it comes out well for half the quantity. I don't want a lot.
