US Marines' Only Aggressor Squadron "Snipers" in Action

- Marine Fighter Training Squadron 401 (VMFT-401) at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, is an Adversary (Aggressor) Squadron of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, flying the 11 single-seat F-5N Tiger II and one twin-seat F-5F FrankenTiger fighter aircrafts.
The squadron known as the "Snipers" is the only adversary squadron in the Marine Corps, also is the first and only reserve squadron in the Marine Corps tasked to act as the opposing force in simulated air combat.
All "Snipers" pilots are air combat tactics instructors and most are graduates of the Navy's "TOPGUN" or the Marine Corps' Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course.
The U.S. Marine Corps plans to activate a second adversary squadron, the Marine Fighter Training Squadron 402 (VMFT-402) will be activated in fiscal year 2023 at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, and is scheduled to be airworthy by early 2024.

What’s up with the missing panel just forward of the M in Marines on the port side and S on the starboard side?
Not a missing panel. There are louvers that open to provide more air for the engines when it is moving relatively slowly (like on take-off) and not enough air is coming through the main intake. If you go to 5:48 you can see the louvers in the closed position on a parked F-5.

アメリカはパイロット多すぎて、こういった部隊との訓練の順番が年1回も回ってこないのではないだろうか。
海外の基地に派遣されている部隊も多いだろうし。

WTI excercise. Best crews from all units participate and take those updated lessons etc. back to their parent unit. I did 2 WTI's in 1980. Good vids of Yuma WTI.

Although you provide great footage of US Military mite, it is not used to protect our soldiers from Iran or other terrorist acts. So what’s the point in showing this if it isn’t or won’t be used to protect us.
