Onana to me looks like he’s made of glass, goes down easily whereas Barkley is very strong in possession. Wolves were good first half and we looked disorganised defending our goal, a more clinical side would be out of sight by half time. Carlos might be good against a big striker but his passing cost us the goal and vs Young Boys he did the same. A word on Ollie’s movement to get that chance - world class!
For most of my life as a Villa fan (since the early 90s), we’ve been the Everton or the Wolves. Playing against a top 6 side, getting ahead and then crumbling when the other team hasn’t played that well and looking back thinking how are we losing these games so consistently? It’s so refreshing to be the other side of it and just shows exactly what Justin said - patience and quality. And we know at the moment one goal changes the game. Carlos just has this lapse in concentration at least once a game and its annoying because its always punished at this level. Hoping mings can come back and full on tax that role as RCB. That first half was hard to watch. Only thing good about it was that we were only down 1-0. Sloppy play, even Tielemans wasn't on his game, which is rare. Ref was shockingly bad as well. Second half we got it right, Unai's swap for Ross the Boss was on point. Another one for super sub Duran. Can't remember the last time we came from behind two league games in a row to win, been a long time I think. Hey Justin, sent a message to Luke a couple of weeks ago and said "A clean sheet would be nice" we are conceding way to many goals for a team that finished forth in the league. It just amazing that they can find the resolve to keep coming back, however, against the other top teams that is going to be so much harder. Looking forward to Mings coming back, when him and Konsa were in the centre of defence we were like a fortress at the back. Mings got injured and it just hasn't been the same sine. I am sure you will correct me but we do need to keep clean sheets, teams will then fear us especially with our front line. UTV.

Our midfield costs about 57m for Onana, McGinn, Kamarra, Barkley and Tielemans. Thats insane when you compare it to other Premier League teams. In fact, its about the same as Wolves paid for their three starting midfielders today, Andre, Gomez and Lemina.
Safe Luke, i saw at 70mins we was 1-0 down. At that point i said i would take a draw, but when we went 1-1 i had a feeling we could win it 2-1. 3-1 great win, if bthis goes on watkins and duran could bag 20 goals each this yr. I think you’re right about McGinn but for the wrong reason….he is great there WITH an attacking right back, someone to hit the space he creates, with Onana and Konsa or Bogarde it doesn’t work….maybe Cash would be a touch better but in that system I think we’d need Nedelcovic to be good enough to start or Matsen to be able to play right back

Games are decided over 90 mins, but if we keep giving away cheap goals and putting in mediocre performances in the first half then a good team will hurt us. We gave away the first goal to Arsenal and we struggled to get back into it. I'm just glad that the team has that grit and determination to see through a game and dig deep to get a result no matter what. Unai has the winning mentality we have been missing for absolutely years and I am glad he is our manager. We will be in a great position with him in charge. UTV!
Have to say Like, I thought the ref was pretty damn good first half. I'm not sure what happened in the second half, but he made some odd decisions (or lack of decisions in some cases). But yeah first half I thought he managed the game really, really well.
Diego Carlos is a lucky man We weren't great today at all, felt like the palace win last season. Carlos is a liability and needs to f off out this team. Again he costs us a goal. Bogarde had to start today I don't care what anyone says We were lucky today but showed good character to comeback again but a clean sheet is long overdue
Wolves were like the stubborn Bournemouth O'Neil side in the first half and in parts of the second. I dont think Villa were dreadful first half, off the pace a bit but Wolves just blocked villa out of their game. Second half was just villa going up a gear and Wolves could not cope. Look at how many yellow cards wolves ended up with, very physical approach. This is a very good villa side, a couple of players off challenging for the top perhaps. But we aren't far off right now. We really showed resilience/grit today in coming back from behind again,i thought Barkley did very well when he came on,aswell as Ian Maatsen,Leon Bailey & what about our young head banger Jhon Duran who's been doing fantastic & seems a much better player alround this season & appears to be happy getting his head down with an improved attitude which is great to see,both our strikers are firing & Villa are getting the wins even when they're not playing as well as they can, exciting times & great changes from our elite manager King Unai Emery..... up the mighty Villa!!! 😁⚽💪🔥✌️

Example is the utter bollocks of Wolves running around for what 15 minutes in the first half after they scored due to a Carlos blunder. No idea that Villa were letting them run themselves into the ground it was hilarious. Great win and as for Carlos well that's what you get when the guy never gets to start a match.

Don't think the analysis has to go much further than, everyone who started against Young Boys started today, except Bogarde. And Carlos looked tentative. Three matches in 7 days... one the CL and another a derby. Not something Villa is used to at all.
I think maybe it was the wrong starting lineup tbf. Bailey and Maatson could of started. Who am i to question the god Emery though. Just feel maybe he needs to rotate the odd player here and there and make more use of the great squad we have. I know that will come naturally with injuries but why wait for that?
