Today, my good friend Jordan joins us to demonstrate his Bikram yoga practice while I narrate/ teach the sequence. Jordan is an avid Bikram yoga practitioner, a style of yoga we've never explored on the channel, so I thought it would be fun to have him on the channel to share his practice. Let me know how it goes for you.
What a fantastic yoga experience this was! I have explored different Bikram-style classes over the years and this was the one I've most enjoyed, by far. You've managed to capture the wisdom and beauty of the poses while removing the almost aggressive, super-intense approach that so many seem obliged to offer. I had a fabulous full-body stretch, strengthening, while feeling relaxed and calm. Your narration was excellent, clear, and informative. Thank you so very much for this and for what will be many a return visit!
In all the years I’ve been practicing I have never done Hot yoga I didn’t realize that we are really talking about inner heat, muscle heat. It was fantastic ! I felt a deep connection with my body that I have not had before. Thank you so much 🙏
I would prefer you to announce that in the video-head-line Tim please - before we start the class- so we know the set-up in advance please. But hallo to you Jordan of course ☀️.
Thank you, Jordan and Tim! I was putting off doing this practice because I thought it would be too challenging, but I was wrong. It was just right. It was different from Bikram I did once in the past where the pace was really fast and I couldn't keep up. This pace was good for me, even with all the transitions from knees to shavasana. It was different from Tim's daily practices but it was a pleasant change. I feel very warm and open now that it's finished. Namaste and happy New Year (almost).
Thanks. this was very different with all the resting poses in between, it was after a while hard for me to follow it and force myself to rest, great challenge. Thanks for throwing something new at us.
Hey Tim, great video. I really appreciate when you let us know what is the primary focus of a pose, it helps to quiet the overthinking and allows me to concentrate more on the physical body.
Avoided this a few weeks ago like a wuss as thought at 54mins it would be tough, how pleasantly wrong I was, informative, calming and humbly liberating. 🙏 Thank you.
The practice I did not realize my body was missing. I practiced Bikram consistently a little more than 5 years ago. Can't wait to get to the mat tonight 😊
Hard to know how to advise because I don't know anything about your yoga, health or fitness history. But I would advise people to take at least 1 rest day a week even in peak condition.
@ Thank you, Tim. Listening to my body I think I’m gonna need one or two rest days a week, at least for now. Thank you for guiding this sequence so well 🙏🏼
On the Conscious Movement Community I have my exact strength training routines that I use (1-2x a week depending on the waves) in the strength and resistance training course. Here's a link to join: www.timsenesiyoga.com/consciousmovement
@yogawithtim I found the class to be less challenging but just as effective. I find that going through the vinyasa flows put more pressure on my shoulders and upper body but deliver a more well rounded experience. The Bikram style takes breaks between movements and doesn't flow as well. I find the vinyasa flows feels better than going into schwasana several times in one session.
I post 1 hour videos every week for members. You can join here and access all of the longer classes and courses: www.timsenesiyoga.com/consciousmovement
I wish we could change the name of Bikram yoga to anything else to stop celebrating and sharing thename of a predator. Maybe even shorten it to Bik Yoga or Ram Yoga. He hurt a lot of people, it would be nice to not continue his name and therefore some sort of 'celebrity' for him.
I have to be honest, i really didn't enjoy this. It was too much stop start and not much challenge for me. Glad i tried it, but not one I'd want to repeat. Miss flowing vinyasa and challenging postures.

Thank you James

From London, thanks Tim, was different but I enjoyed.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks Isabel
Tim I've been wondering for a while. Is your physique and this man's physique achievable just through yoga? Or do you do other things.
On the Conscious Movement Community I have my exact strength training routines that I use (1-2x a week depending on the waves) in the strength and resistance training course. Here's a link to join: www.timsenesiyoga.com/consciousmovement
This was a very different feeling in terms of a class. How does Bikram yoga differ from the one you teach tim?
quite a bit different. What would you say?

Thanks Tim, but I much prefer your usual style.

Does Jordan have a TH-cam channel, Instagram, or Twitter? I’d like to see more of his work.
He does not. He’s an auto mechanic and doesn’t do any online stuff.
Thank you TIM🙏

The full 90 minute is true Bikram yoga. This was “Bikram Light”.
Gotcha. Thanks Michelle
