    • @someguy2385
      @someguy2385 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

      I didn’t understand the to young argument at all. He already had made the finals, he was an mvp, and he had back to back 60 win seasons in his prime. He was more than prepared to win he met all the qualifications he just kept choking in the playoffs. When he was losing 2007-2011 he’s to young, ever since he got on the lakers he’s too old and can’t be expected to win (yet when he does anything he’s the goat because what he’s doing at his age is miraculous ig) then when he loses on his second stint in Cleveland he didn’t have enough help and he went against an unbeatable team that actually could’ve been beaten. This dudes whole career is a massive excuse. I just don’t understand

    • @someguy2385
      @someguy2385 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @@enamuossuoTbh the fact they have to make this many excuses for Lebron is proof enough he’s not the goat. We don’t have to make excuses for Jordan, Kobe, Magic, Kareem, Bird, Duncan etc because their successes outweighed their failures and they overcame adversity. With Lebron is genuinely debatable if his success weighs out his failures since there’s so much failure to choose from with all the quitting, team hopping, colluding, excuse making, choking etc. If you have to make an excuse at to why he failed so much throughout his career then isn’t it apparent that he simply wasn’t that good?

      This whole thing really highlights how stupid Lebron's fans are. Using the excuse that it was the 55th pick. Bronny still took over someone else's spot. It doesn't matter if that dude would have stayed in the NBA or not, the point is the opportunity to do so was stolen. That is why people hate nepotism, getting hired for reasons other than meritocracy. This doesn't even need to be explained but Lebron fans are a bunch of half-wits.

    AOH, thanks for the content. I can't believe Gilbert came on saying Jordan is the GOAT but, all the while before this moment, disrespecting Jordan's accomplishments and era that he played in. He also stated that Kobe was his favorite player and that no matter what Lebron does, he'll never be number 1 over Jordan but number 2. Gilbert was making excuses for Lebron, especially when Robin called out the steroid allegations. Gilbert ran around that question so fast.

    • @Christo_Trismegistus
      @Christo_Trismegistus 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He only said that because he was on this platform. On Gil's Arena, he has called LeBron the Goat plenty of times and glazes LeBron over Jordan every single chance he gets. I like Gilbert back when he was battling LeBron in the playoffs in the East but it's just sad to see Gilbert and other media personalities just became Klutch dick sucking LeBron cry babies now. Never in the history of sports has there ever been an athlete with fans like LeBron fans that go to such extreme lengths to hype him up and shit on other players. Jordan fans never shat on the legacies of Magic, Bird or Kareem. No Kobe fans ever hated on players like TMac or D Wade. But LeBron fans do nothing but hate and praise LeBron for hitting a goddamn free throw. I can't wait till LeBron retires and people stop caring about him as much as they do now

      It's crazy because Jordan fans, Kobe fans, Bird fans, Magic fans, none of them ever started anything. LeBron declared himself the GOAT and started this war and hate on other players. Basketball talk used to be actual conversations between sensible fans and now it is just "if LeBron isn't your GOAT, you're just a hater" or "if you think Bronny shouldn't have been drafted, you're a hater that supports the nepotism of white people for years and the oppression of the black family trying to build wealth". And now the war continues like a goddamn PSYOP because Klutch has paid all these sports media and TH-cam bots to flood the masses with headlines of Jordan cheating for steals and false DPOY or lack of talent and expansion teams in the past. It's frustrating And sad

      The whole world is a stage and LeBron is one of the biggest storylines in sports right now, but it don't make sense because NBA viewership has been down for years so giving LeBron all this power doesn't really bring more fans. Maybe it's their way of making LeBron into a generational Icon like Ali or tiger woods or Babe Ruth, but history will never remember LeBron fans favorably as any of them. They can write all the narratives they want but people and NBA players alike know that LeBron is not on the mt Rushmore of sports.

    "Kareem is the G.O.A.T but nobody is as fun to watch as Magic, he's my favorite".
    Then there's the hometown heros. Regardless of who they thought was the actual G.O.A.T, absolutely nobody loomed more large for folks in Chicago than D.Rose when he was there. That's the case in countless other places.
    "Jordan is the G.O.A.T but Kobe is my favorite" is probably the most common version of it I've ever heard everywhere I've lived and from people I've known from all over the place.

I would like to see it have a more free-flowing discussion, instead of an awkward pause, silence, followed by a "hey, 'so-and-so', what do you think about xyz?". Feels like a Q&A instead of a natural conversation. Admittedly, it's hard to have a conversation with so people on a livestream. But some adjustment can still be made.

    • @Christo_Trismegistus
      @Christo_Trismegistus 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Great comment. LeBron has never won a championship as the closer on a team ever. Every single ring was never due to him just straight dominating. The year Miami beat OKC was expected and the heat overall played well it wasn't because LeBron did anything extraordinary. When they beat the Spurs, that was pure luck when LeBron was saved by Bosh and Ray Allen to win. Against GSW, he never would've won if Draymond didn't get suspended or if Kyrie didn't make one of biggest shots in history. The bubble title was against an overmatched Miami team and Anthony Davis was the real Finals MVP. And that adds to your point because LeBron has never won a title when he is dominating with crazy 2K numbers. He is at his best when he is asked to not carry the offensive load and do what he does best which is facilitate and play good defense and drive to the basket. That sounds crazy because he is all time points leader but if Jordan or Kobe would have played 20 healthy seasons they would have the record too. No one looks at Barry Bonds as the greatest baseball player of all time for hitting the most home runs so scoring the most points don't make you no GOAT

  • @opentagramignis2826
    @opentagramignis2826 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The biggest problem with LeBron probably started in his teens when everybody started telling him he was going to be the next MJ and not LeBron James. It is wrong for whoever his peers were at the time to get into and blow up his head like that because of the energy he has to put into carrying that weight and not just playing basketball. If everybody around him at the time would've just coached him into being his own player and developing excellence at fundamentals, character, leadership etc. he likely with his physical abilities would have been one of the all time greats. He needed a role model honestly.
    For example, if those things would've happened and he was drafted by a team that had all of those things already, like say the San Antonio Spurs from that time, we would all be seeing a much different player today and one with a lot more prestige and respect from everybody. Nobody from the Spurs organization would've allowed him to flop and roll around on the court like a dying fish.
    Jordan's greatness is realistically unreachable. The guy was like a God on the court and everybody used to say "I wanna be like Mike" because they weren't. Kobe was the closest thing and even he fell short in my opinion and he never had that kind of attitude to say: " I am or am going to be better that MJ" because of it were true it wouldn't need to be said in the first place.

    number 2 could be way behind number 1, that would just mean the gap between #1 and #2 is huge. totally feasible.
    also, favorite and greatest are 2 very different things, though often related. my favorite player growing up was earl monroe on the bullets, then walt frazier, i would never say either of them was the greatest. sorry but that sounds like an absurd assumption, that someone's favorite player must be the #1 or #2 greatest. favorite is completely subjective, greatest has at least some "objective" measures to look at.
