Actually kind of feel sorry for the guy in the story, clearly has schizophrenia or psychosis and needs help. Michael did pretty well handling him, making sure he wasn't a threat, keeping Lindsay away, acting normal and keeping him calm etc
Yeah, I was kind of put off by how they jumped to the whole "lmao he might try to murder us" thing... I imagine psychosis is terrifying and he was just trying to get help. :(
CodeDarkBlue or he could’ve been an addict tripping balls who the fuck cares if they’re being insensitive this stranger is seeing people make a spaceship just call the cops and gtfo
Plot twist: 5 or 6 guys got high on every drug imaginable and were trying to make a space ship by robbing some apartment, and one of the guys chopped the head off of another guy thinking he was against the other guys
My "side with the lunatic" story came when I was walking along the Vancouver sea wall at Stanley Park and had to maintain a conversation with a guy that I found out was a methhead.
Just realized mine was with someone who I believe was a c0ke user. Unfortunately for me, I had just gotten out of a therapy session. The building was on a Main Street in a relatively busy yet smaller city, and I ran into a woman with a dog outside the building. I love dogs, so I asked if I could pet her. She said of course, then launched on a pretty homophobic rant about how there were two gay guys trying to take over her apartment while she was still living there. She kept making it seem like it was a bad thing they were gay, if they even existed lol. I just listened and knew that even if this crazy situation was actually happening, I would be stressed as well, so I tried my best to empathize then got the hell out of there. I should’ve turned around and gone back to therapy.
The untold part of that story: There really were people in that guy's apartment, he was just tripping balls at the time, making him think they were building a spaceship and that one had no body
@@Peglegkickboxer Sure thing, had that happen to friends and acquaintances on multiple occasions, where they got paranoid or really anxious, when they were hitting it too hard (sometimes paired with alcohol, though)
Mike the cop had a video that showed the dispatcher putting this call on the response list it’s funny. It was this call or something very similar with someone calling about people having no bodies.
I was in the middle of class the first time I watched this podcast episode and I lost my shit in the middle of class. It was the best fucking thing ever.
Michael is scared his neighbor is gonna kill him but before he dies he will eat at the same time 12 lava cakes a monster mac a giant gummy bear 12 mcribs then drink a bottle of barbecue sauce
eh. it's possible, although there are plenty of disorders that can cause delusions and hallucinations, I obviously can't say anything for certain, but from the story in sounds like the guy might have had a paranoid variant of something, although if it is hallucinations then they must have been kind of severe, in most cases it's just hearing things, not seeing straight up, full formed people. one thing I will say, is that while Michael did a good job dealing with the guy, keeping family and friends away while talking to the guy like nothing is wrong, from what's shown I don't think the guy would've done anything violent, that's the thing most people misunderstand about these kinds of mental illness, they people who suffer from them generally don't try to hurt people unless they aren't actually seeing the person as they really are, since the guy was talking to Michael as if he was just an ordinary person, I doubt he would've done anything dangerous.
Theory: the intruders were from the future, using tech to actually turn the couch into a spaceship, and they were being led by a futurama style head in a jar
I wonder how much Gavin shudders listening to this particular tidbit now, considering he and his wife's own close shave with a psycho a couple of years ago...:/
@@sparknazo If I remember right, the guy in question was an obsessed fan who’d been stalking the two of them online for years, in particular because of an apparent desire to be with Gavin. He was somehow able to weasel out their personal information and home address online, one thing led to another, and the police wound up finding the guy dead in their home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound while the two of them were hiding in the closet, terrified as hell. Pretty fucked up, all around. :(
@@sparknazo It was my impression, from what I heard was that he had a mega crush on Meg and was jealous that Gavin was with her or something like that. He managed to get their information/address and drove several hours to their home with a gun. He shot into one of the back windows or something along those lines, thankfully hitting no one (maybe he thought they were away or something) because he decided to wait in his vehicle in their driveway but ended up shooting himself in the head and killing himself by the time the police arrived on the scene.
No offense to Michael, but I feel like he says he's from New Jersey more than he actually acts like it. He says all the time that he'd just default to being a complete asshole in certain situations, but judging from what he actually says and does during the scenarios versus things he says he _would_ do seem to be quite different.
Just go to his channel LtMikella or something like that and watch his early videos and you will see the Jersey seeping out of him, he's just changed over the past 4-5 years
Not trying to rain on the parade but this story does show a worrying stigma towards mental illness in our society. Specifically, the attitude that the mental ill is dangerous to people around them.
+eric kelly Cause Michael's from Jesery and they're all friends. Shit, my friends like to joke with me about me being from Brooklyn. It's what friends do.
That twitter post at the end was actually pretty dumb. They had a guy with no body so nobody could have flow that spaceship with gasoline. If anything that was an extremely well thought out hallucination.
"Significantly". Where do you get that statistic from? The "mentally ill people are dangerous and unpredictable" is mostly a myth perpetuated by the media.
I'm sorry but you could say that about literally anyone, people you don't know are unpredictable in general because you don't know them? I don't think the person you encounter having a mental illness is a variable that should make you instantly question or fear their actions, that's a huge part of the problem.
If that's how you define it, then that's a very loose term. Not everybody with mental illness is out of control of their actions or are defined by their illness itself. It's kind of a one label fits all mentality. "Mental illness" is a vague term that applies to a several different disorders with varying degrees of symptoms, and it doesn't equate to being dangerous or out of control of their actions. Hell even 1/4 of the population has some sort of mental illness. Even if someone tells you, "Cthulhu stole his cat." That shouldn't be a warning sign of that person being scary or dangerous to your safety. If that person was known for having violent behaviour towards other beings, then that's an obvious warning sign. It's very rare that a mentally ill person is fine one day, then out of control in a dangerous fashion. It's significantly more likely that they'll be a danger to themselves than other people.
This story proves that Michael is a nice guy underneath the Rage face. He was more worried about Lindsey and Gavin getting mugged
+goldosprey Everyone has a nice personality.
And also rage quit was very funny but it was his job to get mad at a game .

goldosprey Lindsay has said that the rage is all real so you shouldn't piss him off but he's actually a really caring guy underneath all of that.
I think I saw something that he was the angriest Teddy Bear. Especially with Iris

Either way, I hope he's okay now.
