hi! just wanted to clear the air on something:
i totally understand that rec room can’t just go back to how it used to do things. for starters the community is much larger and a tight knit connected community is just unachievable in modern rec room. i also understand that they likely aren’t going to change their current plans for the future, although it is nice that they finally told us and came clean about it on the AMA. all i ask from this video is just to throw the community a bone and make us feel a little less neglected. anyway, just a reminder rec room, we still love you and always will

As a player since 2018, Rec Room is not the same game I fell in love with, and it is growing further from what it one was every passing update. They began as a social vr platform that welcomed all people and have now become a rehashed brainrot Roblox clone. I believe if rec room wishes to succeed in the future, they need to rebuild that wonder and distinct sense of identity.
There's no community anymore. Been playing since 2017, 99% of the people I played with are gone. It's all toddlers and players on mute now, old players are a dying breed.
as a game developer, my dream game is to recreate the feelings and vibe of pre-microtransaction rec room

Rec Room is probably gonna suffer the same fate as "Roblox", when it comes to moderation and well quality control when it comes to rooms on the top page, and another thing is that the creative freedom that rec room had is gone when it comes to how some rooms on rec room get taken down for some absurd reason or if its some weird game that barely has any visits but gets taken down no reason at all, but a room that lets you timestop and have the invincible cheat on for you is still not banned from what i know, its just sad how Rec Room is so neglectful of their game and community to the point eventually, the community will probably just ignore the Rec Room Staff forever because of these new changes that keep making the game worse, or sometimes changes that were never needed.

I’ve officially quit the game and deleted all my videos on the game because rec room dosent care for the community they never listen and just do stuff nobody asked for
I wouldn’t mind if there wasn’t an update for a MONTH if the optimisation of the game was WAY better and probably would have a bunch of new content.
If rec room gave us a bunch of more community meet-ups and events i would be a lot more happy. The community and creative team could manage a lot more events for us man!
If instead of doing a new RRO they would do a bug-bash, it would make alot of players happy especially with ones playing on launch day headsets or crappy computers. (PSVR needs it the most)
Token prices compared to earn able tokens, lack of personality in recent projects (make it to midnight and my little monsters are exceptions for sure), lack of consistent updates for new rec room originals *cough* my little monsters *cough cough*, as everyone says it just feels their focus is solely number based now. Meeting quotas, making enough to profit… there’s no soul in the game anymore. Back in 2017-2018 idk if it was because of how small knit the community was due to limited VR access or what, but you could just feel the love in the game back then. Every little thing had care. Ever since the maker pen got introduced their motto has become “we don’t have to because we made the tools for you to do it now!” Even though they KNOW those tools can’t compare to what they are capable of. They’ve already admitted making rec room originals like quests is not a sustainable business motto, but it’s what created the community to begin with. It’s what the original players of rec room LOVED. Paintball and Laser Tag. Golden Trophy and Isle. Games like these are what represents Peak Rec Room. The love and personality resonates in those games. But nowadays we get half assed “quests” like the TMNT stuff. Which is just a buggy mess of an advertisement for more profits… it just sucks. We need the heart and soul of the game to return. And that lies within the focus being put on RRO’s. But that doesn’t mean 2 RRO’s a year with little to no updates. Shit give us one amazing RRO every 3 years. JUST MAKE IT REPLAY-ABLE WITH CONSISTENT UPDATES… I want to love this game like I used to but they’ve pushed majority of their hardcore fans away. Which sucks because of how loyal of a community it’s been…
As a representative of the MP creator community (4000+ hours + many involvements in contests/events/clubs), there isn't one anymore 😄, most people have moved on since MP is very neglected & those who haven't have moved to RRS, removing that whole aspect of players & experiences
I 100% agree, one of my main motives for quitting the game was the advent of rec room studio as I knew the skills I built up would just be overshadowed by unity asset flips being present in rec room
@@blockheadhilger9626 for me, I think most of my current work looks better then most unity projects, just there are no updates to MP art & it takes sooo much longer then a simple asset flip
Another issue that I feel like isn't talked enough is big creators and makerpen teachers abusing their power to pick on other people. I won't get into it as I already told some other people but basically my friend got bullied by a group of well known makerpen teachers, technically one but that teacher influenced his friends/fellow makerpen teachers to turn their back against my friend and they all bullied him to the point where he quit rr this year due to mental health issues. They only bullied him because they didn't want him to be friends with me. But still...
And the worst part is, we had no proof. Even if we did makerpen teachers and big creators will always be backed up by rec room so the chances of being able to report them or at the bare minimum take their status as makerpen teachers away from them are pretty slim.
I'm not here to s**t on the makerpen teachers entirely, I have 2 friends who are makerpen teachers, one of them actually knows the group and they weren't really nice to her to say the least. But I do think it's an issue that should be spoken about more often.
this is why i'm self-taught with the maker pen, because it allows for you to make your own style while actually improving overtime without some teacher telling you whats right and whats wrong, instead self-teaching with the maker pen gives you more freedom to learn.
some creators and higher up people are immune to punishment sometimes because theyre bringing in recroom money
theres been a few situations that came out which recroom has had that information and have done nothing about (likely because those players made them money)

@@RecRoomFocused actually, they did. They mentioned that they were only switching to the new unity just for psvr2 support. Kinda. They were gonna do it at some point but they did it sooner for it. They said they were rapidly working on it. But then they just stopped

It’s all about passive income. It’s sad, but it’s true. I guarantee when UGC starts becomes self sustainable, they’ll downsize the team and limit/stop content creation. Game maintenance and player support will be their only addition.
Idk... i still feel that the community is just being overdramatic about everything... yeah RR wants to focus more on UGC but is that really a bad thing? the community would answer yes. but i'd argue that its quite the opposite... Yeah they can do a better job at some things, but i need to be real... The weekly system kinda sucked... It was just Grind fest after Grind fest and it wasn't that fun... i do wish they would've kept it. but i never really liked the system anyways... yeah it brought so many players together... but i feel like it didn't serve its purpose well. back on to UGC stuff i feel like the ability to create whatever Is Amazing! the only real downside is Bugs & Optimization... Which i hope is dealt with more than, wE WaNt A NeW QuEsT! I care alot about RR but i need to be real the Community has been actively ruining the game for me and even my friends... Yeah RR aint perfect But dude, ITS A GODDAMN FREE GAME!!! I COULD HONESTLY CARE LESS ABOUT IF THE PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS OR NOT! but idk i personally feel that the community has hurt the game more than anyone... Is it all the community's fault... no, Is it the majority of the community's fault... in my opinion yes... Great video, but I see a lot of people using the TMNT sets as an example of high-pricing when I think people forget that that game and those sets came out 8 months ago.😅 Rec Room has definitely changed in that time and it's undeniable that there is a much broader token range within storefronts now. Although I do still agree that it could always be better.👍
ty! i totally see your point and thank you for the criticism. a common writing technique is using extremity to emphasize an idea or a point and that was the purpose of using the TMNT sets :)

Bro I had the same issue I think they released an update that ended support for quest one because the specs the quest one has are not strong enough for the new graphics
