+lacook19 It's not like we discredit her; I think Kristen has a "so what" attitude and she brings that to each role she plays. Her look is very striking, so we all want to watch her, but when the camera rolls it records her just kinda "walking through" the scene. It's difficult to accept the reality when an actor is being like that. In some of her roles, it matches very well: Like in Adventureland or Twilight 1, the character is caught off guard by what's going on, so her portrayal fits.. On the whole, though, role after role, it's annoying to watch. But that's my opinion. --wtf do i know.

Read a lot of times, is not a garanty of acting well everytime, Juiette is a sensitive actress recognized in the whole world.

I have noticed that since coming out Kristen comes off 10,000 times more sure of herself and confident. I did not even recognize her body language in this conversation compared to the internalized, kind of shy and awkward Kristen from a few years back. What a confidant woman.

It's funny how the media makes it seem wrong in everything he does , and not smile all the time bla bla bla ... but in my opinion it is the most humane actress there and this makes it perfect because it does not seem to be a robo in an expensive dress she looks like someone with whom you could sit and talk and you do not feel that this disturbing the perfect life it .. most magazines and gossip programs make it seem poorly interpreted but love Jennifer Lawrence has similar attitude then why hate Kristen and love Jennifer ( talking about one of them and not acting ) for me Kristen is genuine and a real person who is not acting like a princess of hollywood

I liked her in The Runaways too. That movie could have told the story better. But Kristen and D Fanning played the lead characters pretty well.
I knew from panic room, into the wild, the messengers, speak, zathura and catch that kid before I saw her in twilight. I think a lot of people are the same and that’s quite a few films, people knew who she was before that yet that’s all they talk about. they never talk about adventureland.. I never get why people say she’s a bad actress.. they obviously never saw her newer films after that or before, that was how her character was meant to be.. she’s a good actress

I'd say it's a matter of taste. Kristen Stewart and Juliette Binoche are both great actresses. Their approach/they are very different. Juliette is 53 and Kristen is 25. Juliette has a lot more experience at doing the work (60 films or more).

+SCharlesDennicon I don't think it is so much Twilight, for many that was just fun. Rather, it was the infidelity with a certain director that everyone saw as wrong.
+charlize841 is funny how it is considered I fidelity when the director and his wife were going to divorce in the first place. She moved out of the house before the news came out, a month later she had a boyfriend. Their marriage was already over. The only reason it was consider as infidelity was because he was still "technically" married. but if you look at it in a society perspective, when you are dealing with divorce paper before the scandals, then his relationship was already over. The director and his wife use kristen for the blame and fame. After the scandal was out, the director and his family got so many movie deals and media notice.

I just watched this movie this past weekend. Kristen Stewart is really a talent. Put aside the Twilight movies. She was very good in Ask Alice but she held her own against Juliet Binoche. I forget she was also in Panic Room which as a young actress showed her acting talent.
I always wonder why some people still think she plays herself in every movie,,, do you know why?
Before this movie Kristen was pathetic,always without expression in her face.
The only one and good perfomance i remember of her was in the panic room with other amazing actress,Jodie Foster.and in this with the unique Juliette Binoche. Maybe they both help her in her performances.

The Cake Eaters, The Yellow Handkerchief, Adventureland, The Runaways, hell I even credit her with Snow White and at least the last two Twilight installments Breaking Dawn parts 1 and 2, Camp X- Ray, Still Alice, this film Cloud of Sils Maria, American Ultra, Equals, Café Society and the recent Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk. She was great in all those. never mind in some cases, she is co- starring with people I normally don't like (i.e Kristen Wiig in Adventureland or Steve Carell in Café Society). As matter of fact, I did not like your beloved Juliette Binoche until seeing her in this movie with Kristen. As a teenager and into young adulthood, I always taught of Juliette Binoche as this one- dimensional sex-starved or love-starved puppy dog in everything she's in. But I liked Binoche in this movie but Kristen and Chloe Grace Moretz a little more. Maybe that's because Binoche's love- starved puppy dog typecasting worked for this movie. My point is Juliette Binoche is just as much a typecast as Kristen Stewart or any other young actress out there. Don't be so heavy handed in your opinions.
austin yearwood I have my own opinion as you have your own, Kiristen was very bad in several movies.for example Snow Whithe, The whole Saga of Twilight and others. after she has been acting better, And is not only my opinion is the opinion of a milllion thousand of people around the world, now I thing she is better, but a great actress never, beautiful very much, is a good acrtress, not great ¡¡ I understand you are a fan of her, but she is not great.

So I guess that's one of the keys to her realistic acting--she prefers to react to a script after the first time she reads it so she act more on impulse than reacting to premeditated thoughts as most other actors do it.

C F It's all about substance. There are people who are well rehearsed and speak clearly but it is still b.s. what they saying. Kristen's fumbling on screen as you call it makes her more real. @@nimimerkillinen It's hard to pick a top 10, as she is great in everything and has done over 60 movies. My top 10 would be (not in any particular order): Three Colors: Blue, Both Sides of the Blade, Certified Copy, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Chocolat (the 2000 film with Johnny Depp), The Lovers on the Bridge, Let the Sunshine In, The English Patient, Clouds of Sils Maria, and Paris (not to be confused with "Paris de juteme" as she is in both) - but the Paris (2008) movie by director Cedric Klapisch. I am also tempted to put How to Be a Good Wife in my top ten, as her performance is spot on and it's a good satire. I also enjoy "Dan in Real Life" - one of her few attempts in an American made movie, a light hearted rom com and she is totally charming in it. There are so many great performances by her.

Loved the movie although it left me confused. Like wth happened to Kristen character, she just disappeared in the clouds..? And expected the ending to be with the bigger sense of closure, so that was also surprising. But phenomenal acting by Juliette and Kristen, their chemistry, just everything blow my mind, I enjoyed it all SO much! :-) Btw I must tell that I am truly impressed how Kristen's confidence in real life developed through the years :O just amazing! and the way she explained ,,I'm addicted to the first time...''what an artist, this is pure artisty!

Wow. So many of you who have no idea who Juliette Binoche is. French icon. Classic beauty and uber talented actor. Kristen is great, but not even close to being in the same league as Juliette. The skill of being an actor is in part being able to create freshness and spontaneity even after twenty takes. Juliette has it all...in spades!
