Amazing that Don Rickman is still going strong. I bought a BSA 500cc Shooting Star from the shop in New Milton, Hampshire, he ran with his brother Derek back in about 1964. At that time the pair of them were very well known scrambler riders and produced their own machine called the 'Metisse" . This was fitted with various engines and gear boxes, Triumph, Matchless etc. Sadly Derek passed away in July 2021. There is quite a nice piece about the brothers on google.
The reason is to stop the numbers traders. Anyone can invent an early type old number and sell it for upwards of £100.000. People even sell old buff log books on ebay for people to restamp stolen bikes or bitsa's. These wont get you a V5 either anymore.
Wonderful. Great to see Don Rickman and the Minerva.
Jim is such an unsung and unassuming Genius!

120 yr old bike , can you believe it , amazing .
How great is the Ariel. I bet it would get along pretty quickly on the flat. Hills are obviously another thing.
I love motorcycles too!
The DVLA are completely stupid when it comes to using original registration marks. Good video!

I remember the old Rickman works in gore road, when Sammy started out with his museum. Before this palace was built.
