Canon EOS 1Dx Mark ii - Top Dial Replacement

Had the top dial on my Canon 1Dx Mark ii start acting up (skipping randomly, going backward when scrolled forwards, etc.) so I decided to replace it myself.
Note: in hindsight, you might be able to get to the top dial without taking out any of the front screws.
