About "Legato - The World of the Piano"
A new generation has made the piano popular again: pianists with a passion for virtuosity and a willingness to expand their repertoire. In addition to the usual classics they perform formerly scorned works or they discover neglected composers. LEGATO is a series dedicated to presenting some of this new movement's most fascinating pianists - their individual approaches, their fresh ideas and their music.
Montréal native Marc-André Hamelin is internationally renowned for his musical virtuosity and refined pianism. The Times described a performance as “Ultimate Perfection”.

The left hand at 27:13 😂
uploaded in mono sound :(

What does that mean?
Complete and utter noise. Sounded like an etude instead of a deep Byronic poem.
I've never liked Hamlin's Chopin. He is best in Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev and the like.
I’m always impressed with Hamelin’s incredible dexterity in everything he plays, but I don’t always like his interpretations. Same goes for Argerich. They are absolute gods of the modern piano world, but sometimes are too talented for their own good, if that makes sense?
Katsaris also gets into this@@orlandocfi
