It's amazing how many aircraft are sold off in this to other country the dash 8 was regular for mesa air and horizon air and frontier airlines

@@colinshaw4592 Majestic are making one apparently (they made them on fsx/p3d) but don't expect it any time in the near future
I'm dying for it to be released for MSFS (no official release planned as of yet) so I purchased X-plane 12 just to fly the FlyJSim one while I wait.

A bit less than 10,500.
Each PW150A is capable of delivering 5071 SHP, but only in the case of an engine failure on take off, and once MTOP is triggered. In normal circumstances, it's limited to 4580 SHP.
Nonetheless, I'm a Q400 pilot myself and I absolutely love flying it.
Sad that these were replaced by CJRs (and similar) on many short routes. I miss the room, amazing engine sound and advanced technology.

an oddly quiet cockpit to be honest. was expecting more communication such as "rotate" or "gear up" "positive climb". I guess other airlines have different sops
Hey, they said all this calls which you are normally hear. But it was very loud in the Cockpit so you only were able to hear the calls only with your Headset. ✌️

regardless 1020 rpm still no matter the torque setting, so it still sounds like mad even if 89%, ntop, 81%

That's called "Sterile Cockpit Protocol". Once up to cruise, they can talk a little bit more freely.
Co-pilot's attitude is too bad. Terrible handling of switches, throwing away checklists.

@@jamespetersen8954 Yes, but the ice detection spigot on the windshield wiper arm is used as the primary detection source for ice accumulation, which is now out of view. Leaving the wiper in the up position will also maintain a constant overstress on the spring, this could lead to spring replacement sooner than expected.

The wipers themselves make an excellent ice detector.
