I found some prehnite from Bridgewater, in Orange Mountain basalt. It is often bedded in the transitional layer of green copper carbonate underlaying the basalt.

Where abouts in Bridgewater did you find the prehnite?

@@matthewd371 Chimney Rock was a hydrothermal vent. That's now prehnite was interbedded. I can't remember where in that octopus of a town I got it; sometimes quarried riprap has amazing deposits. (Currently my best specimens are on loan to a teacher doing volcanoes.) I also love diatremes-hydrothermal forced deposits in molten basalt. Have an amazing one from riprap. You also get amygdala-holes in the transitional green copper carbonate which represent bubbles (of steam, acid, eg) in the molten rock. Our basalt is considered pahoehoe.

@@placidpond wow you have a great knowledge of geology! I'll check the areas by Chimney Rock road like Washington Valley park. I'm thinking the streams might have some good specimens

Is the prehnite or accompanying minerals fluorescent? What's the chemical composition of the depisit area? What's the crystal habit of prehnite? Any elemental substitutions? Is it really good for hangovers and ingrown toenails?

The Quarry is no longer there. Did you find it in the patch of forest next to the PNC mortgage parking lot? Appears to be some large rock from google maps search
