A great uncle of mine’s name is on the Town Hall War Memorial plaque, killed September 1918, age 19. What a waste! We have his cigarette case with broken clasp, a photo and a token he sent to his mam.
I was very interested in watching this video as I used to live in Greenfield for some years so used to shop regularly in Holywell. How the place has changed !
Grew up in this lovely town. Moved away 6 years ago and every time I come home for a visit it gets worse. Most shops closed and just seemed to be takeaways an hair salons. That have tried many times to open different kind of shops but unfortunately don’t stay open for long as they just don’t get the customers. Used to be a thriving town but everything has changed for the worse unfortunately 🥹
Not a very accurate reflection of our Town Centre! Many of the shops are shown with the shutters down and that would infer that the shops are permanently closed and this NOT the case. Many of the shops pictured with the shutters down are trading successfully. The video also over emphasises the closed and empty premises ! Ideally the video should be either taken down altogether or retaken at a more favourable time of day when the vast majority of shops are fully open. The footage should also be rebalanced with regards to the empty buildings.
No No No . This video will not be taken down because you do not like what YOU see . This was my film on that day and that time . The camera NEVER lies . There was a great vibe here when i was recording this video . I WILL be coming back .
