Sort of random, but I did an interview with a fan for his blog if you'd like to check it out! =D 31filmtalk.tumblr.com/post/111216103393/interview-with-mike-matei-of-cinemassacre If anyone wants to do a written interview with me, shoot me an email Mike@Cinemassacre.com Thanks for watching! - Mike
Nice video guys! Also, ya'll should start banning/muting these people making dick comments. It is getting old, and the whole comment feed is covered with them. It looks bad and degrades the channel.
Should've included the part where you scream "Who the fuck is John Maplethorp!" My favorite I think it's the Atari video where you ask James "have you ever tried Diet Rite?" That was funny to me.
AVGN is awesome, no doubt, but I think I like JMM better because of these real reactions you guys give to these games, no scripts just a couple guys hanging out playing games like we used to back then. Keep up the great work Mike and James!
Thanks! Of course I love both shows, but I also think that's what makes J&MM great. You get to see our real life reactions to games. Yes, sometimes we suck. (We can't be experts at every game.) But there are a lot of games that we kick ass at. James beat the famicom transformers, which is insanely difficult! And I've gotten to Ganon in Zelda with no sword. Sometime this year I hope to do a Zelda episode of J&MM! If you want to see me do the Zelda swordless run check the following links! First Quest cinemassacre.com/2013/08/04/the-legend-of-zelda-nes-first-quest-swordless-run-with-mike-matei/ Second Quest cinemassacre.com/2013/08/05/the-legend-of-zelda-second-quest-swordless-run-by-mike/
Cinemassacre Yeah, for sure these games are hard. I watched the Silver Surfer run through that Bootsy did and I thought I'd give it a try since it at least looked doable. Man, I lasted 5 minutes even with the turbo button cheat! Zelda would be an awesome JMM episode for sure, and I'll check out these vids too, thanks. I didn't know you could get anywhere without the sword so this should be interesting. Thanks again!
1:46 This is probably the best scene on that couch ever. Bootsy like "Hey, I beat it." with a big smile, and James and Mike just stare at the screen in awe and disbelief, like they are really asking themselves "Is this a dream...?"
1:25 I like how after all that Mike goes "good." Reminds me of Zelda in Wand of Gamelon. Loved this video! One of the reasons why J&MM is basically the only good series of let's play videos out there. Also I thought Pilotwings 64 would be on the list.
Yeah I've seen the vid, but there's too many people, and he can't properly concentrate, the gamepad keeps getting passed around. In ideal conditions, I'm sure he can pull it off.
The Sonic '06 one had a lot of funny reactions. One that stands out the most is when James gets game over and the game reset to the beginning and Mike's like "WHAT!!!??? THE WHOLE FUCKING GAME?!"
Haha, I think I broke my back falling off the chair crying with laughter at 2:07! :D You guys are awesome, I love the James and Mike mondays episodes :) Keep up the good work!
Cinemassacre I'd have to go with Batman and Shadows of the Empire. Batman because of the look of pure joy when James beat the joker, and Shadows because I used to be so good at that game but it took a LOOOONG time to get there, even as a kid!
Cinemassacre Batman episode. I got up to the joker thanks to the glitch James found on that boss before the final level. I use that every time now lol . By the way, I'd love to see you guys give another shot at Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde but this time with Bootsy!!
Cinemassacre Mike yeah oh my god im so glad you said Rondo of Blood! That video was the shit. And I said on that video that when you are playing anything Castlevania related the show is, for some reason, even better.
Looking forward to AT LEAST 10 more intense moments, fellas. One of the many reasons why I really enjoy this series is that feeling of intensity and accomplishment that a lot of these videos have. Beating the Joker, Tyson, the Turbo Tunnel, etc. is exciting stuff, and I get the sense that your excitement is genuine. It's also great to either get farther in a game than you ever have or to re-test your skills and see if you can still tackle a tough game after many years.
This is a great way to celebrate an awesome series. I know there are a lot of people doing "let's plays", but this takes me back in time where I would go to my friend's house and play on his brand new NES and take on the latest Blockbuster rentals. The excitement is so genuine! Thanks guys.
This really shows what I love about this show, it's casual and funny, but sometimes it also makes me feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack. Also, I love that moment on the batman episode when James is fighting the Joker and he says something like, "I pretended that the Joker really killed my parents!!!"
So awesome! I was just thinking to myself, "I'm already having nostalgia for the J&M videos..." so I'm glad to relive some of these moments! I think you were pretty spot on for your top moments, Batman as a whole was a pretty epic playthrough. It's even a blast watching you beat these games and I'll be happy to continue tuning in. Thanks, guys!
seeing the looks on their faces while they are watching each other during intense gaming moments reminds me of my childhood playing NES with my buddies, we had the same looks of worry and excitement on our faces as we neared the end of a difficult game. Really great video guys!!!
Its such a great thing that video games and James and Mikes's passion for them connects us through time and space through an orgy of human creativity and design.
I know you guys have other creative interests, but I really enjoy James & Mike Mondays. I wish there were more than one episode a week. If anyone has earned their right to be a "Let's Player" it's you guys.
I like James Mike Mondays more that recent AVGN as well, but I love James' Monster Madness and other film reviews more than anything else on the internet.
jktomas Same here. I prefer the two of them. Even back when many hated on Mike, when it was new, I liked them together. But anything James does about vintage monster and/or horror films is high up on my list too. It's clearly where his main passion lies, tantamount even to retro gaming perhaps. And I'd love to see him make a film like that instead of the one he made. Or what'd really be amazing would be him & Borchardt collaborating together to make one.
The moment you beat the Turbo Tunnel is the most intense moment of the series. I remember watching this episode and as you had beat it i freaked the shit out like mike does :) . I really appreciate your hard work , and i really like you guys! Greets from Germany!
Such a great Top 10, guys! :D Totally brings back tense memories of this series... I know I'm not alone when I say J&MM is so freakin' fun to watch! ^_^ The epic, screenshot-worthy faces in James & Mike Mondays history at... 0:43 / 1:46 / 2:08 / 3:19 / 3:42, 3:48 and 3:52 / 4:18 / 4:43 / 5:02 / 5:27 and 5:32 / 5:47.
That Castlevania 4 clip hate to be the best for me; I assume you guys edited the music to be so cinematic over the footage and it all just climaxed so well at the end. Probably my favourite multi-part episode you guys have done because you two love the game and spoke so highly of it throughout. Keep 'em coming.
Thanks, that helps clear this up. I'll have to buy this game and try my best to beat it. I'm cranking the music at the end though. Castlevania has to be up there with some of the best music in video games.

You guys need to do more battletoads, you shut it off at the ice cavern...
Cinemassacre Lol omg, do you realize what you have done!
We all knew that battletoads would be one and punch-out number two
Cinemassacre I'm looking forward to Mike Matei's Top 10 Inches
How about that intense moment in Flowers of Robert Mapplathorpe video?
I actually almost included that as a gag #1 ;)
-Mike
Lmao, everything gets intense over flowers.
Cinemassacre So hot ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
XD
Should've included the part where you scream "Who the fuck is John Maplethorp!"
My favorite I think it's the Atari video where you ask James "have you ever tried Diet Rite?" That was funny to me.
I think thats why this channel is so popular because you can see they actually enjoy the games their playing, not just putting it on..
AHeroAlmost Not anymore
@AHeroAlmost What do you say now?
@@peanutmansemporiumofrandom7472both guys still immensely enjoy video games
Jesus.
Bootsy's hand is transforming into it's own turbo controller.
"I beat the Joker...your mother!" hahaha
I love how James says "Pretend you'll really die ..that's the way you gotta think!"
Nintendo hard really was its own difficulty back then

James and Mike top 10s?
I approve.
*****
i rather not, i prefer smaller female parts... at least smaller than 10 inches o_O
zeddicus4444 I don't think you know what spam is.
5:01 is the best part of the entire video. "I BEAT THE JOKER..."
+Mystic Vee Gaming YOUR MOTHER
James and Mike Mondays is my favorite series on TH-cam. Please keep it up forever.
XDisintegrationX Glad you're enjoying James & Mike Mondays. We plan to keep doing it for a long time! -Mike

Nothing beats james face during punch out lmao

Agreed. I can't stand other let's play videos but I look forward to a new J&MM every week
Check out HC Bailey vids if you dig RPG's like I do
James' reaction to the Battletoads level was freaking glorious!
Damn Bootsy beat Back to the Future 3 AND Silver Surfer? Has he ever beaten Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?
Nah, but he was pretty damn good at it !
He needs his own let's play series
I wish he was there more often for sure. The "James & Mike watch BOOTSY BEAT GAMES" Show. i'm sure he could beat Jekyll & hyde

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Team Showdown - James & Mike Mondays

"You gotta pretend you're really gonna die; that's the way you gotta think." -James playing Double Dragon
Man, that battletoads video was too fucking awesome.
I think that and Castlevania Rondo of Blood were probably the best episodes to date. Have any favorites? -Mike
Cinemassacre A Symphony of the Night episode would allow me to die a happy man. Especially with the rumored 'spiritual successor' on the way ;-)
Cinemassacre I'd have to go with Batman and Shadows of the Empire. Batman because of the look of pure joy when James beat the joker, and Shadows because I used to be so good at that game but it took a LOOOONG time to get there, even as a kid!

This pretty much covers why video games are awesome. Those moments that mean nothing to anyone else, but are incredible personal victories.

I love the sound of buttons being pressed.
@@gurvmlk Those shoulder buttons, right?
J & M Mondays are easily my favorite things to come from this channel. The longer the videos, the better. Keep up the work!

It would be cool to see more Bootsy in this series. His skills in games are really high.
lmao the last one when the mic falls over, way to go! :)
That Battletoads moment always puts the biggest grin on my face. That episode had the best ending.
I love their faces when Bootsy saves Clara lol
I still can't get over how awesome Bootsy did in the Silver Surfer! That man is a king among men!
"I beat The Joker!... Your mother!" XD
Numbers 1, 2, 5 and 6 are my favorite James & Mike Monday intense moments. I look forward to the next one. Just a reason why I like Mondays.
Omg! I had no idea bootsy was such a beast! I want to see more of him please!
This is what makes James & Mike mondays so awesome :D
seeing the looks on their faces while they are watching each other during intense gaming moments reminds me of my childhood playing NES with my buddies, we had the same looks of worry and excitement on our faces as we neared the end of a difficult game. Really great video guys!!!
It may be cheap but dam is it rewarding when you beat it!
“DUH! DUUUUH! DUHHHH!” Was probably my favorite J&M moment. Top 3 at least.
Its such a great thing that video games and James and Mikes's passion for them connects us through time and space through an orgy of human creativity and design.

i actually like james and mike monday more than avgn
they're both great but I really look forward to mondays for these vids too.
I kinda feel like AVGN ran it's course. New episodes will always be appreciated but I'm fine with J&MM as the norm from now on..
I like James Mike Mondays more that recent AVGN as well, but I love James' Monster Madness and other film reviews more than anything else on the internet.
Joyful Amoeba - it depends. Some AVGN episodes are spot on. What I love about this series is that it's not scripted. Just pure gameplay here.

We tend to forget those precious moments indeed ! Thx for bringing those up again!
It's great when a James and Mike Mondays episode is tense. It's like an exercise in masochism just to watch! lol
Mike & James - Thanks for this awesome series and a ton of epic retrogaming moments :)
omg! that look on james' face when bootsy beat back to the future :D
I love when shit gets real on these videos, when you feel the frustration and the anxiety and the intensity.
This video is why I love playing hard games: You feel like such a hero when you finally win.
It's an honor and a privilege to watch Bootsy work.
This is great guys. Would love to see more top 10s of James & Mike Mondays moments.
10 reasons why this is my fav thing on youtube
The last three were THE BEST for this entire video, with Shadows of the Empire as runner-up.

There was nothing better as a kid than playing NES games in a pitch dark room with your friends at 2AM
I don't watch a lot of let's plays but when I do, it's James & Mike Mondays.
Mike's reaction to Bootsy winning at BTTF III is priceless haha!
Never thought I'd see a countdown for the James & Mike Mondays, well done. Btw, love Bootsy's hat!

Probably my favourite multi-part episode you guys have done because you two love the game and spoke so highly of it throughout. Keep 'em coming.
It actually is all from the game. They might've edited the music to be more clear, but all the music that is there is supposed to be there.
Thanks, that helps clear this up. I'll have to buy this game and try my best to beat it. I'm cranking the music at the end though. Castlevania has to be up there with some of the best music in video games.
Agreed! Each one of them has fantastic music.
i gotta say i am enjoying james & mike mondays
After killing Dracula...
James: Oooh you stepped on him!
Mike: Good.
Lovedit guys! Specially the last to one!!! Thanks for sharing that moment whit us!!!! It was awesome!!!!
5:04 I beat the Joker!.....Your mother! 😅
Love the sound of those NES buttons getting hammered.
The Turbo Tunnel is more intense than the final boss fights of most games.
I don't know why but seeing these guys reactions are priceless.
Great job on the videos.
Definitely think shadows of the empire was number 1. The faces you guys made, the moments of intensity. One of the funniest things I've ever seen!
That "so far" hurts so bad...
Dang, that's a lot of swearing for a victory over Dracula. Haha. love it. This was a fun compilation to watch. Keep 'em coming.
This was the most awesome video ive ever seen
this had to be like 8 controllers breaking in the process LOL
Bootsy kicks ass playing hard videogames!
much to my surprise, great clip, great editing, good job!
the part when mike died playing contra had me cracking up. took me back to my childhood days....
How was Mike running the gauntlet in Batman with only one bar of life not number one?!?! "I'm Batman! I'M BATMAN!!!" My heart was racing!
Cinemassacre has become my most favorite let's play channel.
I have almost spilled my morning coffee guys...
:)
I love mikes reaction when he gets back up in punch out 😂😂😂
you guys remind me of my childhood when hanging out and play famnicom games. keep up the great work, I'm a fan of your channel
There's something so genuine to these. Love it.
I still get goosebumps when the Nerd beats the turbo tunnel lol
Oh god, James' laugh on the Contra death.
Pride isn't misplaced here. Great job you guys, every time :D
This video was just like camping.
In tents.
great video. i like these better than the full episodes
I think everyone's required to do what Mike did at 1:10 of Super Castlevania. It's like shooting the dog in Duck Hunt.
This was great!! Good selection
There for every second of it. Can't wait till next Monday.
I remember watching all these moments so long ago so amazing
Best show they have on Cinemassacre right now besides Monster Madness. Seriously.
Great number 1. Congrats guys!
It's a tough call between the Turbo Tunnel and Bootsy beating Silver Surfer. They both are pretty damn intense, but I want to say Bootsy's was better.
Excellent, so much emotion! You really feel it, and reminisce.
Oh god, I remember that Double Dragon vid... so anxious for you!
