Zest is okay, it is just annoying how Artosis fawns over him. It is a good win though. As much fun as it is to tease Protoss, it is good to get a Protoss victory. Cycling all the tourney wins between Serral, Dark, Rogue, and Reynor (and Maru for the occasional Terran win) gets a bit old.
That game 7 was art man. In 2018 Zest was doing these DT Archon drops against zerg every single game and when I saw the DT/Archons coming out after the gold base it was hilarious!
What amazing finals, and what an absolute treat of a game that last one was. Damn, I am so happy for Zest, crushing Maru and defeating Dark which looked unbeatable in all of his other games so far this season, must have felt great.
That last game was just beautiful from Zest. Takes gold base. Makes zerg act aggressively. Hard counters aggression by stalling with DTs. Zerg can't break main. Because of the stunning simcity at the gold base, it survives and is perfectly positioned for a rush that takes advantage of the extra minerals. He pretty much set a trap-if Dark had decided to tech along with Zest, it would have been a different story.

I was rooting for Zest the entire series (though I like both players, it has been more time since Zest last won it). That last game was CLUTCH! I was at the edge of my seat the entire game! Zest brought something new and most importantly, HE WON.
Zest last build was fire. But also so refreshing to see microbial shield and mind control defeat a 200/200 sky toss army multiple times. Great play on both sides.
The only thing worse than spoiling the finalist player names on the frickin' thumbnail is showing the champion holding the cup on the frickin' final match's thumbnail. Maybe next season. Seriously though, it can't be that hard to hide the names and faces of the semi-final winners; it's only two matches after all. I clicked on the channel for the semi-finals and booom, there goes the final thumbnail spoiling the outcome of both semi-final matches in an instant. To make things even better, the final match's video has been uploaded before the individual semi-finals! XDDDD Poor micro, guys. Patch this please.
I really like commentator Park But man, what a tournament! From game 1 where Bunny eliminated Rouge untill this very final, so many upsets, so many exiting games, this has really shaken up how I’ll see player’s chances when they meet in next tournament.

Spoiler , , , , I just want to say.....Zest has matured as a player in a very meaningful way. Three years ago, and in my earlier memories of him, he was always Mr. Midgame Timing Attack. Now he's applied his precise mind to macro and Skytoss lategame and is one of the best late game players, while retaining his elite early game, mindgames, and defensive play. And he's still getting better. In my opinion his ceiling is much higher than that of Trap.

As a longtime SC2 fan that just fell out of touch with the game and assumed it was dead, I was stunned after watching this. What a final game, unreal how far the meta has evolved.

They came out so fast after the carriers popped that everyone realized that they were queued up before the fight as the finishing blow. Love how they zoomed in on the warp in. Tastosis should've spent some more time talking about it.

Never has an incoming chargelot attack been so exciting!!! I wish the battle lasted a little bit longer in that last game. Zest overpowered Dark with so much force he dropped like a bat with clipped wings.

I went to watch the semi finals and this video was displayed next to the semi, so now I know who wins. This significantly takes away from the fun of watching knowing that certain players’ risky strategies will fail or knowing that the comeback they’re seemingly forming is just going to fail anyway
I was trying to explain to my wife the risk and the balls to use a gold base for an expansion. Only because of impeccable defense did it work. He made the right units and used them the right way and once he has 3 sentries on top he could block the ramp forever.
The three maps that Dark picked are the same that I as a Zerg player usually ban! Now I am most considering ZvT but can it really be true that you want the complete opposite in ZvP compared to ZvT? Small maps with few expansions that can be split in half, is that really what you want as Zerg vs Protoss?
GSL Code S size is slowly shrinking, sad to see the Korean scene slowly dry out, but at least we still have games like Game 7 here and lets just treasure it while it lasts!
In game 6.. dark neuraled the mothership zest was sending to mass recall to the main and recalled his army into a surround.. happened so fast no one caught it had to go back several times and look at the mini map.
Honestly I have no idea why more zerg don't just do what Dark did in game 1. If protoss is all void/carrier, you can just wipe them out with mass corruptor, then suicide the corruptors to take out their buildings while backing it up with roaches. Zerg players seem to really underestimate how powerful corruptors are.
i dont know masters and above but at diamond1 when i go skytoss, i would love to see mass corruptors as zergs response. 2 archon is enough to zone out entire flock. i belileve variety is really key point at sc2. mass nothing is 'that' good. especially at this lvl.
most zergs can't handle skytoss. And that includes pros. Storm and then templars morph into archons can zone out corruptors. And another thing, if zerg gets a large enough flock of corrupters, Protoss can switch to stalker army as remax to handle both corruptors and push the ground. Spell casters are the key to winning ZvP lategame, and need some Serral godlike micro to handle that army. Only Serral, out of all Zerg pros, will intentionally go into late game ZvP.
Because mass corruptors is awful. Even if you win in the air, which you won't because voids melt corruptors, then you're left with a useless army when the toss switches to immortal archon.
@@TheAgavi Voids really don't melt corruptors though. At least so long as you don't sit there and engage fully charged voids. You just pull back your corruptors where they enable prismatic alignment and you're set. Besides that, corruptors do very well. They can just focus damage easy on one void because of their burst damage and win by numbers. And you're not switching to anything other than stalkers because the corruptors will be wrecking your buildings.
