I got a voice acting lesson from the original Lord Zedd, Rob Axelrod. He called me a natural... I wish I would've acted on his advice and gone into voice acting, sometimes. He was a genuinely great guy, and seeing Zedd come out on top over so many great characters made me smile. Rest in peace, Rob.
That's incredible! He was talented. I would never have guessed that Lord Zedd, Finster, and Lokar were all voiced by the same man. It would have been fantastic to have him back for Zedd's appearances in Dino Fury, but of course that couldn't be helped. Thanks for so many awesome childhood memories, Rob.

I’ll never forget when Lord Zedd debuted as a villain. He was a terrifying new threat and his first monster made the zords either useless or under his control without even trying. 😨
Yes - from his first moment there was no doubt that he was on a much higher level than Rita.
I would personally go with Lord Zedd but Venjix as no 1. is very badass.
Spoiler: He was shown in not only RPM, but turns out he was actually the main antagonist of Beast Morphers. He’ll travel across different worlds just to gain control of only one thing, the Morphing Grid, the source for all Power Rangers.

@@joshuawinters7644 Saban and Disney have often rewritten who the villain is or how they're portrayed compared to who they were adapted from. As early as MMPR, while we do get an adaptation of Witch Bandora as Rita Repulsa (the name being referenced in the Once a Ranger trailer with the "Bandora Protocol"), we're soon given an American exclusive in Lord Zedd as an acting protagonist as MMPR's second and third seasons, while still using Zyuranger's suits, went with Dairanger and Kakuranger's mecha respectively, giving us a blended adaptation. Other villains that don't have actual sentai counterparts include Ransik from Time Force, Dino Thunder's Mesogog, SPD's Grumm, and Sludge in Dino Fury.

Lord Zedd is my favorite villain from Power Rangers just because of how menacing and powerful he is. The first the Rangers fought him, he literally wiped the floor with them, which I had never seen happen until that point. That made him really intimidating in my eyes
Technically in mighty morphin he only fought Tommy physically the rest of the time he had his minions do the fighting
Zedd did have an intimidating presence, and Robert Axeford’s vocal performance as the dark lord was creepy, but he unfortunately didn’t do hand to hand combat until he confronted the white ranger, and he sucked at it. Worse, he got toned down in the 3rd season onward, which kinda brought the whole show to its knees, quality wise. Even after all these years, he still has tons of potential to give the rangers a run for their money.
The Rangers always take me back to when I was a kid 😂 you guys remember VR Troopers and Big Bad Beetleborgs ? Those shows were so awesome 🙌🏻

Karone is one of my favorite pink ranger being the first villain to redeem herself without having to die in battle to prove her worth

I remember those shows. VR Troopers is underrated. The Beetleborgs were also fun.

@HenshinAcademy Ivan ooze deserved his spot on the list. He destroyed the rangers in the early skirmish caused the team to go after a long shot power in order to be able fight him.

I know that you mentioned Ecliptor in Astronema's mention, but Ecliptor and Darkonda both deserved their own spots on this list. When she was a baby, Darkonda kidnapped Astronema. She was then given to Ecliptor who raised her as if she was his own daughter. While Ecliptor was a machine and was built to be evil, he still had a paternal sense of love for the human Astronema, which completely went against his programming. Darkonda then manipulated Astronema and he even forced Ecliptor to merge with him, which resulted in Darkcliptor. It was like Vegeta and Goku fusing together and the Space Rangers barely made it out alive. As Astronema began to long for the brother that she never knew, Ecliptor, despite being evil, spared Andros, once when Darkonda was trying to kill him and again when he and Astronema were escaping from attempting to find Zordon. Ecliptor loved Astronema so much that he didn't care that he was evil or where his loyalties lied. He only wanted to see Astronema happy, even if that meant sparing his lifelong enemies. Darkonda then beat Ecliptor to an inch of his life and reprogrammed him. That's when they kidnapped Astronema back and brainwashed her, as well. This second Astronema and Ecliptor were just as evil as Darkonda, who tried killing them in a sneak attack, but it didn't work due to Dark Spector, the ruler of the universe, stopping him. So now Astronema is the ruler of all the bad guys, she launches a ferocious attack on all of the Rangers from across the different galaxies, and in their final fight, she beats Andros to a pulp. It was one of the most one-sided fights in the entire series up until that point. When Astronema does fall to him, Darkonda does everything in his power to take out his "daughter's" brother. I say all of this to say that Astronema, Ecliptor, and Darkonda are IMO the best villains that the Power Rangers franchise ever created and some villains like Divatox, even though she did force Turbo Warriors into space, and even Korragg, should have just been an honorable mention to fit those two in. They were such great bad guys
Didn't Darkonda even try killing Dark Specter just to take over as the main villain in charge during the season finale?

Ecliptor 's parental bond with Astronema was pretty interesting
Ecliptor should have survived like Rita Zedd divatox and Karone did because of his willingness to protect and love astronema
@@johnpexton3614 Exactly. The only good excuse that I can think of as to why he died is because he was a machine and Zedd and Rita were at least somewhat human but yeah. He should've survived
I gotta give credit to Ransik. The Time Force Rangers never actually defeated him. He gave himself up when he realized that he almost killed the only thing he loved: his daughter.
That stuck with me after all these years.
Ransik was incredible. He was never truly evil, but life really, REALLY beat him up and he ended up doing some really awful things -- the worst of which, I feel, was what he did to Dr. Ferricks, who rebuilt himself as Frax after Ransik repaid his kindness with hatred. It was, as Frax said, a vicious cycle that never ends, but through his love for his daughter, Ransik was able to break the cycle. Nadira more than helped him along the way, but he had to take that final step himself. I am glad that he and Nadira got a happy ending in the following season.
Personally I quite like his ending in Wild Force as he would no longer suffer from his mutation.
I will go with Psycho Rangers as number one because they really were a formidable foe for the In Space Rangers and The Lost Galaxy Rangers during the In Space-Lost Galaxy crossover.

I'm so glad I grew up with the original Power Rangers. I absolutely love when the bad guys have mouths/faces that don't ever move when they talk lol
Unlike Zord Led ( pun intended ) Rita did knew how to toy with teenagers . She perverted the idea of teenager with attitude and chosen Tommy when she found a viable candidate who crippled their Zords , tore the Team Apart , took care of Zordon
Shecast a spell on Tommy and Kimberly to biker each other so that she could steal and use Saba and have some much needed fun with the rangers . She inflicted terror on the new kids locking them inside a theater and having Alpha doing her bidding . She started this entire franchise and she deserves our respect as a good Ranger villain

In terms of plot, Astronema, Darkonda, and Ecliptor should realistically take the top 3 spots. Darkonda and Ecliptor had one of the best villain vs villain fights that I have ever seen!

My favorite Power Rangers villain would have to be Lord Zedd. As evil as Rita Repulsa was, Lord Zedd really raised the stakes for the Rangers during the second season.
Rita's the OG though! She actually murked the rangers on multiple occasions she just doesn't get credit for it lol. She made Zedd a punk. It was poetic.
My Favorite Villain is Robo Rita who has no humor whatsoever just Great Performance and Very Dangerous Enough to take on the likes of Zack and Minh. Second favorite Villain Zeltrax and Miratrix just an honorable mentions

Lord Zedd is certainly one of the most memorable PR villains.
I had no idea he came back many years after Zordon's sacrifice...
He was taken out of a specific period in time by a monster that could travel dimensions. After the device used to control him was taken off he fought back and is now the main villain for this year's Power Rangers series.

@Dream Guardian it was epic! He returned and was about to kill the seasons main villains when the control collar made him stop. When he got free he defeated the rangers easily only leaving because he got bored, blew up a planet, and took on a Morphing Master (the ones spoken of in MMPR).

I expected King Mondo to be on here. Not only did he easily overthrow Rita and Zedd (not to mention Master Vile refused to go against them), but he basically forced the Rangers underground, and was the first main villain to directly fight the Rangers. Divatox too since even though she's childish, she's the only canon movie villain, and the first to actually defeat the Rangers, not to mention she's Dimitria's sister. I also thought Queen Bansheera since, IMO, she was arguably the most evil villain in the series thus far.

Ransik is a legendary villain because he has a heartbreaking backstory, isn't one dimensional take over the world character and he's the only villain to actually defeat the Power Rangers

She got lucky. She found a monster that could actually beat the Zords (though, somehow, the much-smaller Turbo RAM set to self-destruct could obliterate it from the inside). Then, because they were at the right place at the right time, her goons managed to track the Rangers back to the Power Chamber. And, Dimetria conveniently decided to up and leave them to help Zordon fight Dark Specter (and probably died or something). If not for these coincidences and the Rangers' lack of time to regroup, Divatox never would have beaten them. But, to her credit, she got a lead and didn't waste any time running with it.
The funny thing is, the battle with the phantom beast generals was called the beast wars just like the transformer series of the same name. Or at least, I think so. It’s been a while since I’ve watched jungle fury.
The first season with Lord Zedd was perfect.
Ransik, trakeena, Astronema and Master Org are my favorites, Il always liked them for having an actual backstory clear motivations and most of all being SERIOUS, they were the only villains during the Saban era that werent a bunch of cartoonish goofballs like the previous villains. And before some genious come and say "OHHH ITS A KIDS SHOW WHAT DO YOU EXPECT???" I know that! but those characters were much better written and they werent evil just because they like it, in fact some of them had pretty dark stories, something we never saw before during that time.
I totally agree with this, I'd simply add Mesogog and that's my top 5 favorite villains list..

@@MrFrostien yeah, that was really cool of Mesogog. I am so surprised someone had my exact top 4 haha. And yes backstory is very important in a villain. Trakeena may not have a strong backstory, but she had a motivation, due to her father being killed, and she also inherited the throne of her father. Also she is the only villain (before Jungle fury) who actually trained to become strong. And well Master Org, Ransik, and Astronenema have a great backstory, and are very badass.

Great list! Always happy to see the Psycho Rangers get some love. Feel like Mirloc from SPD should’ve been included. I remember seeing him in my twenties and still thinking “Dang! That’s one good villain!”
Mirloc was awesome. The way he facilitated his escape by manipulating Sky's emotions and making him cry was downright depraved. With his murder of Sky's father, it felt so much more personal than any of the other villains that season.
Mesagog is 100% my top choice. I don’t feel like I really have to explain why-due to Dino Thunder being all around a perfect season
Especially when Mesagog was a walking talking horror movie with a decent finesse to his creepiness. Also, I think it was the franchise's better take on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde than what was done in Dino Charge (I don't mean any disrespect to the season, but why make the characters' names rhyme with the classic horror literature that should have also told you something sooner?).
Mesagog is one of the few villains in Power Rangers who feels genuinely creepy, not just kid's-show-villain creepy.
I started watching Power Rangers with Samurai and Super Samurai, so I honestly prefer Master Xandred, despite the fact that for much of the series, he remained in the Netherworld while his Nighlok minions fought against the Samurai Power Rangers.
He even absorbed Daiyu's human side
I also grew with Samurai and Super Samurai. I also prefered Xandred, he actually had reasons why he couldn't just destroy the Rangers himself, given that he dried out the moment he did until his plan worked. Plus he was so powerful he nearly destroyed the MegaZord until it took all their power.
He was definitely a very powerful opponent
Samurai was the first power rangers series I watched so it always has a place in my heart Master Xandred is scary especially when I saw Arachnator planning to betray Xandred I knew he would suffer dearly if Xandred found out
Rita & Lord Zedd....I still remember how the first monster Zedd sent totally wrecked The Power Rangers.
Ransik should have been top 3 at least - his story was amazing, he was never beaten by the rangers and as a kid I was terrified of him, especially the way he pulled his sword out of his body. I’d also include Zen-Aku on the list as his story is great and he was so cool. Honestly, as much as I love Mighty Morphin, I think Lost Galaxy - Time Force was the peak of Power Rangers.
I know Megaforce is Hated but Vrak is a Underrated Villain
Zedd was a mass of metal, muscle and magic, he blew up the royal family of the machine empire then sped off in a RV. He will always be a top villain for me a close second would be Ransik because Time Force was awesome and he was monster made from circumstances, being rejected for not being perfect yet instead of going down in a blaze of glory he chose to try to make things right and all it took was almost losing the one thing he cared for more than his revenge, but maybe I'm just too inclined to see a redemption story.
Well he does get redemption in the Wild Force / Time Force crossover where he sacrifices his mutant powers to stop the MutOrgs and as a result becomes human.

How could you not put Divatox In here? She destroyed two of the Rangers Megazord blew up their command center and destroyed their power source. Heck, she was merciless too. Powers or no powers she didn't want to take any chance and was willing to do what was necessary to make sure no one stands In her way. She almost succeeded If It weren't for Dark Spectre messenger Interrupting her. She might have found the rangers.
Yeah, Divatox was dangerous and ruthless, and very funny and entertaining at the same time. Thanks to her, the turbo powers and the power chamber were permanently wiped out.
Because rita & lord zed was the two first i grew up with i consider them the most iconinc in the franchise.They were also funny and i really like to see funny big baddies most of the times in series like those!

RPM was in 2009, then 10 years later in 2019 he came back in Beast Morphers
Grey from Choujin Sentai Jetman is my personal favorite villain in the Super Sentai genre second to Gien from Timeranger(Fraxx's original Japanese counterpart).
Lord Zedd as Number 1, at first when him got married and became more and more goofy, I thought he may not make it to the list at all. But it turns out he was still a scary villain both inside and out, no matter what. I did not know he came back in Power Rangers Dino Fury. Surprising!
Yeah. I thought his return was going to be lame and sort of handwaved, but I liked how they pulled it off with the villain plucking Lord Zedd out of the past when he was at his most evil, keeping the continuity that he and Rita were purified from Zordon's sacrifice. That said, I'd say offhand that even though he got more goofy when he married Rita, the two of them actually became far more dangerous when they worked as a team. Wasn't terribly long after they got married that they destroyed the entire Thunderzord fleet, enslaved Katherine, captured Ninjor, and became major thorns in the Rangers' sides.
Lord Arcanon and Serrator deserve spots on this list Too!

5. Koragg(Look at his Design! And i love his Codex of Honor)

7. Trakeena(Love her whole arc)
8. Diabolico(His whole arc was so good. Not to forget the conclusion)
9. Imperious(Great treacherous Villian. But Deviot is so much better in this role)
10. Mesogogg(intimidating)
11. Vilamex(not really a villian but he needs to be mentioned. His character was great and i cry for him still today. Vilamex: "You learn nothing"

I love how Diabolico may look terrifying but he actually cares for his fellow demons/monsters unlike most other main villains like Sledge and Astronoma who said the body switcher monster was useless anyway when he got defeated Diabolico didn’t see Loki one of the other major antagonists as replaceable he was actually saddened 11:34

Missed out about Ransik sacrificing the mutant part of himself in the Wild Force special to become fully human, I think that elevates him up a couple places
It's only fitting that the first original Power Rangers villain stands at the top. He's even coming back as the main villain in what is essentially the first "original" Power Rangers season in Cosmic Fury.
I absolutely loved Goldar as a kid! Rita and Lord Zedd were awesome too but Goldar had a unique feeling to him! The fact that he looks like a werewolf in golden armor that can grow into a damn kaiju with help from Rita? Oh hell yeah! PLUS WHEN THEY GAVE MY MAN WINGS?!?!! My little mind was BLOWN when he got wings all of a sudden.
They made him more of a flunkey and a joke later on, but I didn't mind it. I'd rather have Goldar around rather than being written off somehow.
Also, Ivan Ooze was actually Hella fun to watch as a kid. The fact that he looked so creepy, grew an army of giant birdmen, actually entered the command center and almost destroyed Zordon and took away the Power from the Rangers? That man seemed badass when I was young. CGI aside, he was cool lol
Dai shi hands downs one of the best Villains of the Disney era of Power rangers he,s one of the few bad guys I know can fight without much weapons on his arsenal and the help of Camille🦎🦎.
You guys forgot to mention that Venjix was a part of the Machine Empire and the main villain in Forever Red. Evox himself said that he took many forms.

Though he only appeared in 4 episodes, Lokar is definitely one of the best and scariest villains. He was never defeated either. Dude was the literally satan in Zyuranger.
Fun Fact: Lokar has a nephew named Lothorn, who appear ex in Dino Fury
As far as I'm concerned, the real villain of Power Rangers RPM was the Military Industrial Complex. They allowed Venjix to corrupt the world computer network because they didn't want anyone to know the truth.
Also they manipulated a child prodigy to do their bidding.

Personally Queen bansheera from Lightspeed rescue is one of the most evil villains in power rangers plus she was actually scary. Mesagog as well.
You should’ve also included the fact that he is going to be the main villain in the next season of Dino Fury called Cosmic Fury. Making him the second villain to be the main villain for 2 nonconsecutive seasons.

Even though Darkonda was destroyed many times, I think he deserved to be on the list due to his conniving ways, like the betrayal of ecliptor when they combined and his “attempt” to destroy Astronema in the last episode.
Koragg and Void knight are similar armored villains it seems came first in Power rangers mystic force from that and Void knight was fighting for his wife to get revenge on the humans for imprisoning them in a cave🛡️🛡️.😊
I find it funny how they decided to not adapt ToQger only to bring one of the villains from that season into the Ryusoulger season

Not everyone though I still remember him from Wild force and he's one heck of an assassin and has two dangerous weapons the Crescent blade and a flute he calls upon the dark zords🐊🐊.

Lord Zedd, Rita, and Goldar: Because they're the OG.
Ivan Ooze: He really was a strong villain the Rangers faced.
Venjix/Evox: A villain that actually succeeded in his goal of conquering Earth.
Ransik: A rather tragic villain and because I like his relationship with Nadira.
Astronema/Karone: The fact that she was Andros' sister was a twist I did not expect.
Lord Drakkon: Bad. Ass.
Psycho Rangers: I loved their costumes.
Void Queen is one of the best and most memorable villains in recent history. I would have her higher on this list.

After Cosmic Fury will end. They should bring back Void Queen & set up Toqger's adaptation, because it tooks several 10 years to adapt Toqger into a Power Rangers season.

Feel Astronema should have been ranked higher, given that she was one of the villains who came the closest to succeeding in her goals: she did briefly conquer and occupy Earth.
Vrak is my favorite villain why because he’s the most ruthless heartless, power hungry villain in power ranger he demonstrate how heartless he can be because of the way he abandoned metal Alice and left her to die showing his ruthless and sadistic side a side which horrified the rangers after all her loyalty and love to Vrak he didn’t return any of it, and when he found out his own brother prince Vekar was destroyed by the Power Rangers. He called him dimwitted worthless weak and a fool and He even thanked the rangers for killing Vekar as he is now 1st in line to the armada Throne much to their shock and he shows virtually no regrets about any of the deeds he committed to get this far.
