Finally an install video for the 2.0L K motor! I've been hesitating to install a CAI because the part is not that cheap and mechanics hourly rates are really high where I live, but this convinced me. The install doesn't look too hard, with the help of your video I think I could do it.
Thanks man! Yes it is totally possible to do this on your own as long as you have the tools. Obviously I ran into issues in the video so now you know what to avoid. I’m glad this video helped you 🙏🏼
I’m getting mines in a few days got all the proper tools watching all you. I got ktuner 2.0 already and getting invidia exhaust.and down pipe.Cusco full suspension, fiberglass hood, trunk, front & rear bumpers/fenders. Hopefully they get a track header or I going custom one cheeeeeeeeeeeee
Explaining how you did something just by ghetto wrecking it is exactly what people need to learn because people who are just starting out don’t have all the extensions deep socket etc.
It definitely gave it a more punchy acceleration and an pretty good overall power increase. Nothing too crazy but definitely made it more fun. Combined with the RV6 Downpipe, it reacts a lot faster which is something I didn’t like about this car cause it is not the best when punching it full throttle. But definitely made a huge difference. My friend has an LX and when I gave him a ride along he definitely felt the difference and instantly wanted to mod his car
Thank you bro for the video, I want to do that on mine and put also a downpipe any suggestion for downpipe and I have a question, do any of those changes make the engine warning light come off? Edit. I read comments about it. Lol suggestion you can give me for downpipe ?
The intake won’t trigger any engine light. However, the downpipe will eventually give you a check engine light unless you have KTuner to disable the O2 sensors. There is only one company that makes Downpipes for this car and it’s RV6 Performance. They have the catless and Catted one. I have the Catted one
@@fonzysgarage7857 thank you, i was checking the website for downpipe, first time doing this mod work in a car, I hope my experience is as good as yours, I'm driving a 2017 honda coupe 6 speed manual transmission.
Hey man just wanted to thank you because your video help out so much I have the same car Honda civic lx 4dr 2017 automatic. I do want to ask you more tips but not sure how I can reach you.
It sounds better when your driving cus Tht huge filter gets the air in needs when it’s sitting it’s wayyyyy to big for that little bit of air that filter is too big even for a lambo 😂
What did you do for the left hand top hole on the intake frame? The part that has the annoying rubber grommet? I could not get this original air box off easily because of the rubber grommet. Every video excludes this
The whole grommet Has to be removed. Try to pry the air box off first, if not then try to pry it off together and then the helmet should be easy to remove off the box. That Grammy is super important because you do need to use it for the new frame
@@fonzysgarage7857 thanks! Does the grommet just slip over the “helmet” metal part completely? Mine almost doesn’t move at all (brand new car only a few months old). Maybe I’ll try lubing and removing later. Currently my CAI is held in place with the two main bolts and that’s it
@@fonzysgarage7857 thanks man, I got it earlier today actually. Once the car was warm it slipped right off. All snug and good to go now. Enjoy brother!
Yeah man I’m not too savvy with the carb legal stuff man I just know that this intake is not CA carb legal. It says so on the website right before purchasing it.
Ventus Hearts You’ll be fine as long as you don’t get pulled over for something like exhaust cuz then they’ll inspect ur car. As long as you don’t get inspected basically. And when you’re gonna smog it just swap back to stock intake it’s pretty easy to do after you’ve done it once. Always keep stock intake, downpipe and muffler just in case you get reffed or something
Not after the intake at all. But with the RV6 Catted Downpipe I got the check engine a couple days later and it kept turning off and on until I got Ktuner and disable the sensor
Why is that filter so big that car doesn’t have enough power for a filter that big that’s for a diesel truck 😂 when he reved it you can hear it’s way too big it’s lagging sooo bad take that thing off go to advance auto get the smallest size they have you’ll be good
I never really liked civics tbh but at the time it was all I could afford. I’m a Nissan guy. I had a 300zx and it was clean but I needed a daily so I had to get rid of it. All these mods are for fun and just me being productive through this new boring lifestyle 😂
C B Nah tbh I didn’t even know the anything about the 10th Gen civics. I didn’t know they made like 8 different models lol. I just needed a reliable car that’s all I’m saying. I got this civic at a really low price so I went for it. It wasn’t about choosing it over the 1.5T. I didn’t even know there was a difference. If it was really my choice and and I wasn’t on a low budget, a civic wouldn’t have been in the picture.
i know i’m super late but i am curious on your thoughts of the new civic only having the 2.0, not sure why the c2 gets so much hate tbh it’s so reliable
I’m not the smartest when it comes to that stuff but I would say yes. Since the intake will suck in more air and the MAF basically will do it’s job. Basically tells the car how much air it’s intaking so how much fuel to send. More air, more fuel, more power. So I’m sure it does burn fuel more fuel but this is just based off of my little bit of knowledge so don’t quote me on that lol. Good question tho
Fonzy's Garage awesome do you hear like a whistling sound or hear the air intake when driving ? And is it super loud since you have the muffler delete ?

Buddy thank you for making this video. I got most of it done solo but I was super nervous til I found this
Thank you for doing this. Mine is supposed to be here next week. It's nice to see all that I need to do and what tools I will need.

Yeah I took advantage of the situation bcuz it could happen to anyone on their first time for sure!
about to get this exact intake has me excited! turbo will be my next mod 😅
You gained 15hp probably with this intake i suppose? Did u feel a diffrence in terms of speed after the installation
It definitely gave it a more punchy acceleration and an pretty good overall power increase. Nothing too crazy but definitely made it more fun. Dyno tune is needed for max power gains like if u add headers and cai without tunning u can gain a bit instantly sure.

Instagram @fonzys.garage brotha!
Did you hear the wwshh sound when you let off the gas?
I have automatic 2.0 I’m going do intake hood it sounds good
I’m going to buy an intake for my Honda Civic 2018 LX but first I need feedback. What made you go with AEM intake instead of the K&N intake?
K&N are trash, Better to go with AEM, yes there $40 more expensive or $30 but it’s worth it, there good manufacturers
Injen or aem?
Any tips on cleaning the filter like and easy way to get the filter back on?
unscrew heat shield is easiest way to get filter on and off
Is this worth getting on a cvt transmission??
Did you notice any increase in the mileage gains?
What’s the website you got yours from? Was it a certain website or straight from AEM
at the beginning when the fluid shot out, what was it and how to fix it because that happened to me too
Well you’ll just need to put the hose back on and add more coolant. No biggie
is this more better than prl air intakes? i have the same car and i dont know which intake i need to get.
More bangers fam 🔥🔥🔥 super clean
Thanks broski! 🙏🏼

Nope! Never got a check engine light or anything!
@@fonzysgarage7857 Alright man so unless you recommend otherwise i'll order one this week :) Thanks!

Not after the intake at all. But with the RV6 Catted Downpipe I got the check engine a couple days later and it kept turning off and on until I got Ktuner and disable the sensor
Would you say it’s worth it for the 2.0?
I would say it is pretty worth it man you can feel the difference it’s a lil more punchier
Are you from california??? Are they legal like CARB legal
I can’t take the elevator music dude. Also let’s get a engine bay camera angle so we can see better please
i disconect the batterie now have some codes any help .. ?
Not sure bro I’ve never had issues like that😬
Is your civic lx automatic?
No it’s the 6speed manual
Is this intake legal in Massachusetts?
I have no clue but it’s illegal in California and I have it lol
is it super loud
It’s not loud at idle nor while driving normal and staying around 3k rpm through gears but around the 5k rpm range it has a nice loud growl to it👌🏼
Is this intake legal in California?
No, unfortunately it’s not
Karl I got one which is carb exempt for 2016 civic lx
@@html7773 which one is it???

I got mine and it has a carb sticker. You can also go to the AEM website to verify which products are CARB exempt
