That gutter idea is brilliant. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I have a wall like this at the side of my house and I am looking to do a lean to. Problem solved 👍
@@BuildWithAE Same here mate, the vid with the lead was the first vid I found and I thought "oh no" "keep searching". After much searching im back with an "Oh yes"
Another quality build... I love your attention to detail, I'm certain A&E are in a class of your own, truly inspirational. I'm a big fan of all your work and always look forward to watching you work... Its a treat watching your videos... Keep up the good work and high standards... your all a credit to each craft you practice.
Hi Marco P, Thanks for your kind words, Robin is a fantastic carpenter, I love his videos too. We all strive to be the best we can, and I'm glad to hear that it shows 😊 Thanks for watching. All the best, John 😊
Fantastic work. I've got a similar space down the side of our place which the previous owners covered and it's falling apart. Huge amount of inspiration from this now and I know what my next project will be!
You guys have been a timely find as I need to build the wife a green house with polycarbonate roof and walls on a treated timber frame . Now I know exactly how to construct . Cheers . PS ...the other videos are also timely for other projects.
Hi Robert, Glad you're enjoying the videos. We're gaining more experience with every video, and the whole team has been on a very steep learning curve over the past year. It's good to hear that it's paying off 😊 All the best, John 😊
really interesting! we are trying to do a side extention but trying to find an example of a lean to roof with the gutter and rafters built with in the two walls rather than sitting ontop....does this only work structurally because its a light weight roof. Would you be able to do a similar detail if it was a glass roof or solid roof?
Hi Richard thanks much appreciated it means a lot to use all. We are very proud of the project and we were very lucky to work with such amazing clients thanks for watching all the best Tony 👍 have a awesome weekend
Yet another great video with great craftsmanship I have never known a company like a&e that goes that little bit further with the attention to detail as you guys do great job take care guys.
Hi Geek Street after the brief from the clients we said it would be a shed of sheds 😂 I think we have gone overboard but we love it thanks for watching all the best Tony 👍 have a awesome weekend
Absolutely superb work as always. It's a true pleasure to see a job done so extremely well and I totally appreciate why the client is so delighted with your work. I just wished that more tradespeople were as good as you and your team are. As a client I'm happy to pay more for good quality but sadly cost doesn't equal quality as I have discovered.
What a great build, and a lot of care and skill shown, what type of treated timber do you use for the construction and if this was painted could i use this wood for an external leanto exposed to weather etc- Thank you Nick
Is the timber that the rafters are attached to on the gutter supported enough to take the with of the roof? I was looking to do similar and a builder friends had concerns that the rafters weren't supported enough. Beautiful build, congrats.
Hi Thomas, There's plenty of support for the roof. The wall plate which forms part of the gutter is securely fixed to the wall. This in turn is supported by 4x4 posts which gives support from the ground up. That roof is going nowhere 😎 Hope this helps. All the best, John 😊
Depends on the roof system, but for an EPDM or flat roof system you should be looking at a 1:40 drop which is an angle of about 1.5 degrees. Something like polycarbonate it’s 5 degrees, but I’d got with 8-15 degrees.
Hi Gavin we do go to different places but we find it’s not cost effective for the clients and there are plenty of awesome other builders out there, speak to the FMB they are really helpful all the best Tony 👍 have a awesome weekend

Those clients must have some serious cash to spare to commission that extension build, back yard revamping, and now this most opulent of sheds 🤣 you guys do amazing work. Really great channel!
Those screws are brilliant... until they end up loose from the bore being slightly too big as you experienced with that second screw! Brilliant work as always though.
Hi Mike 101 we purchased the timber from whitmores.co.uk/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0Z6iqYbZ6gIViu7tCh12_gGoEAAYASAAEgLJm_D_BwE super awesome place I love it there so different types of timber thanks for watching all the best Tony 👍 have a awesome weekend

This set of videos is brilliantly done. What did you do for the floor amd the base of the support posts? A lyer of damp proof membrane?

How to find the next video? Looks really good
Posh lean-to not a shed, amazing work lads.
What a great build, and a lot of care and skill shown, what type of treated timber do you use for the construction and if this was painted could i use this wood for an external leanto exposed to weather etc- Thank you Nick
I need to install this shed right on to a wall where there’s some pvc pipes. Can it be put together without installing the back panels?

Mint finish on the cladding
Hi robevs100ok just love cedar, thanks for your kind words all the best Tony 👍 have a awesome weekend
Awesome work as normal 👍 which concrete/masonry screws did you use please?
Awesome project. Just had a question about the timber. Is it outdoor timber or doesn't matter for framing?
Hi it’s treated C24 and the other is Cedar
Amazing video, could you share what's the cost per square meter or linear meter of the cedar cladding you have used?
Hi Artur it’s not cheap but I would shop around for the best price all the best Tony 👍
Top quality work as all ways.
Thanks for watching Frank, take care! 👍
Just wondering about the timber size used for the gutter. are they 6x2s supported by 4x4s?
Brilliant as always!
Thanks bud 👍🏼
Is there a certain angle the roof has to be at or as long as it is slightly higher?
Depends on the roof system, but for an EPDM or flat roof system you should be looking at a 1:40 drop which is an angle of about 1.5 degrees. Something like polycarbonate it’s 5 degrees, but I’d got with 8-15 degrees.
Great Contact , Any chance you’re list the materials you us Thanks 👍👊
Great vid lads can’t wait for the next one as always
Hi Lewis much appreciated thanks for watching all the best Tony 👍 have a awesome weekend
You to

do you need a planning permission for that?
Do you cover specific areas of the UK or do you take on projects throughout the UK? Your work and attention to detail is fantastic .
Hi Gavin,
Thank you for your kind words.
We work predominantly in the Leamington Spa area 😁

Thanks for watching 👍
Great video.I am a big fan of cedar but a little out my price range. Can you recommend simlar woods that cost less?
Hi Rodney,
Glad you enjoyed the video.
If you're cladding a shed, then British Larch would be a good alternative. It's cheaper, but very durable.
Hope this helps.

Is that a fish eye lense you use? Everything looks curved on feb structure when you’re close up..

Good to see what Paul Collingwood is at these days
What if one wall is my neighbours brick garage. Can I masonary screw in it? Any idea of the rules/laws around this?
Hi A Kelly,
You would have to have a conversation with your neighbours and your local building authority.
Various different authorities have different regulations, so I couldn't advise I'm afraid.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
All the best, John 😊
how did you fix the cladding to the studs? I dont see any screw/nail heads.
Hi samsamm777,
We use tongue tite screws which enables all the fixings to be hidden 😎
All the best, John 😊
If I wanted to build something similar on the edge of my house (obviously not as well made) would I need planning permission?
nice works!
