I liked Throne of Glass I LOVED ACTOAR (COMAF is still one of my fav books of all time) I am OBSESSED with Crescent City. Bryce is far and away one of my (if not my most) favorite characters. The world was a little weird at first since I’m used to high fantasy from SJM, but it very quickly became cool as heck. I’ve been discouraged by all the negativity about the book, but this review made me feel so much better about loving sjm books and especially this one. I highly recommend getting this book if you even kinda like sjm, and don’t let other people’s hate for her or her work bring you down!
Ikr there's so much hate :00 But I agree; ACOMAF was also one of the best books I've ever read. When in ACOWAR Feyre reunited with Rhysand and the other Night court people I got so emotional because it was written so sweet.
I finished this book yesterday! This is my favorite book I have read this year! It was so good! I felt every emotion possible! This was my first Sarah J. Maas book to read, but I will definitely be picking up all of her other books!
“Best 800 pages I have ever read” guuuuurl I have purchased every book finished acotar and was making sure it was worth while you said the best 😭 I’ll let you know if I hate you are love you babes
I have been putting off reading this books, mostly because I came across so many not-so-positive reviews. And if I am going to invest in 800 pages I want to be sure I am in it for the long haul! Your insight inspired me to pick it up. 🙂
I've been struggling to read lately so I opted for the audio book... And... Well... Those last couple of hours (presumably those 200 pages!) were intense! I just sat listening non stop absolutely NEEDING to know what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to re reading through the physical book before the release of the next one 😊
Just finished this one! What a mammoth read but well worth it. It is the first Sarah Maas book I've read...so intrigued to find out what you recommend for the next one. Can't wait.
I loved ACOTAR series but ended up stopping at Queen of Shadows and never finished Throne of Glass series as they are big. You’re making me want to buy this book and push on with Empire of Storms
I have never read a Sarah J. Maas book and I feel like starting with this one would be best for me. So I am excited to read it and see what happens. :)
I also love Sarah J. Maas, her books are just so addictive! I pre-ordered this one and started it as soon as it arrived yesterday. I haven’t made it to far in yet but so far I’m enjoying it. Can’t wait for the other SJM content! ❤️
I'm so excited can't wait for my per order for this book to arrive; I've read acotar for the first time last month loved it! i was glad that i enjoyed Sarah J. Maas writing because i know how much hype her book gets which was similar to how hyped Cassandra Clare shadow hunter and infernal divides book got
I bought the audiobook today. I didn't like Throne of Glass (the first one), but I know her writing has grown since then, so I'm going into this with an open mind. I absolutely love urban fantasy, so that will definitely help. I'm very excited about reading it and hopefully loving it. I'm looking forward to your SJM content this week. I've been playing with the idea of giving the Throne of Glass series another chance.
Hope u read ToG. The first two books were slow for me but I think sjm tends to start series slow and build world and characters before she releases the crap storms and romance. The heir of fire and rest of series for tog were fire. It took me a few weeks to get thru first two books and I finished the last of them in less than a week. I read kingdom of ash (final book that is 989 pages) in two days.
I just stumbled on your review of this book... I must say, i read it in 4 days! Insane! I think Mass has grown with her writing style, even though it's still her voice some things do seam different. Maybe that has to do with this book being an adult book. Anyways your review sums it up beautifully, i really enjoyed listening to you. One thing I did not understand was when you compared Bryce and Hunt to Celena and Cassian(sp)... They are from two different worlds/series unless that was your point. Thanks for your great input and can't wait to watch more of your video s.
I got two of her signed copies and she is also my favorite, I am also afraid of it being a different fantasy cause sadly I have very singular taste in books. *Cough* fantasy, is high Archy
I'm excited to pick this up. I have only ever read Throne of Glass ( the first one but I do plan to read more) and even though I didn't love it, I want to like her books so I want to give this one a try since it is an adult book .
Hey my lovely, thanks to you I finally picked up Maas after having it on my shelves for so so long and shit did I regret not picking her work up sooner
Yay! I’m so excited! This was a really good review I think. I love that you love her so much and vocalize it. It’s a bit tiring seeing all the hate. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion but I don’t understand reading a book knowing you’re going to hate it. I usually avoid books I think I’ll hate. 🤷♀️ Either way though, I really like her books so I’m looking forward to this especially since we tend to like the same things. 😊
Question. I've never read any of Sarah J. Maas books before. So I dont know if I will like her writing style, I'm not interested in ACOTAR (mostly because I thought it was a faerie adventure fantasy, even though it's more of a smutty romance😶). But I do love urban fantasy, so I definitely want to get this book.
I’m sooooooooo excited to read it! ACOMAF is like one of my favourite books of ALL time too! I’ll probably get to it in the autumn or when the sequel is announced.
The SRC is so beautiful, I wanted one for my Sarah J Mass collection but my book blog isn’t popular and ARCs are going for $500 on eBay. Congratulations that you got it and great video
Honesty, I wasn't really interested in this book but you really sold it to me. When you were mentioning all the things that people might dislike about SJM books I just kept thinking I like all of those things! So I think I'm going to finish the Throne of Glass series first (2 books left) and then get to this one. (maja)
ok how did u keep the metallic on your arc from fading bc mine faded SO much when i read it🥺 also i absolutely loved this...i’m a fellow VERY biased sarah j maas stan lmfaooo
I heard someone say that she didn't seem all that effected by what happened to danika and just went about her life🤨 i was so confused, did we read the same book? She was pretty clearly effected. Sjm gets so much hate and some of it i get but ppl really go off. I don't get y ppl get so pissed about males and females, i mean its the equivalent of guy and girl, or man or women. Its a completely different culture.
Finally read it and finished it a few hours ago. I am agreeing with most of what you said. I'm not as big a fan of Maas as you are so this is not a 5 star book for me. I've read a ton of urban fantasy and this follows a lot of what is in those, particularly character-wise. I do love the romance and the other relarionships. But watching this now I am trying to figure out who this male/male couple is. I missed that completely. I'm off to watch your book diary now.
I was wondering if the cover you have of this book is the arc cover or the UK version. Do you happen to know if the UK and US versions are the same or different?
Lol I absolutely love you this is so funny! Anyways I thought this was a great review and I'm super excited to read it but I think its going to be a bit before I get around to it.
I would say that depends on you as a reader. It looks like it's gonna be 2 years until the second book so we're in for a long wait but I would rather have read it and just reread until then that have to wait. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger if that helps! It's a nice place for the book to end but the story is super addictive so you will definitely either want more when you're done or want to reread
@@BeccaandTheBooks Well, im 15 and ive read all of the sarah j maas books. I think we can all agree that they are also full of swearing and sexual content. GRAPHIC sexual content. Especially ACOMAF
This is my least favorite out of her dearies but I still thing it was good. I wished she was nicer to her brother. I know she had to put up a front to make him less suspicious of her but I felt so bad for him.
The Indecisive Readers I started reading Throne of Glass series from my library for exact same reason but I got to book 4 and realised how much I love this series and am now looking to buy the box set! 😜

I’m so scared lmao I also haven’t even read Kingdom of Ash yet WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE
I think I’m the only person that’s not interested at all for this book. Since Sarah’s writing is still in this book I have zero interest in picking it up and I’ve thought about it multiple times this week and in the end it’s an absolute no for me I cannot stand her writing it’s too feminine for me
this was perfectly timed, i’m about to jump into this one and this got me even more excited 😍
You are going to LOVE it! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this because it is 🔥🔥🔥

As Maas Trash who is also extremely biased towards anything she writes, I'm so excited to finally read this!
Yes! A whole week of Becca AND Sarah J. Maas content! Sounds wonderful!
Currently on 26% and all the info was overwhelming but I’m looking forward to it picking up! This video helped!!
i just got this for Christmas today and just read the first chapter,, i’m already in love.

@Madi. Ben10 I just finished it yesterday. I have never cried and laughed so hard when reading any otherbook. It's just amazing!!!
Dark, Brooding and Delicious? Sign me UP! Good thing I already pre-ordered the book 😌

I love this book so much! You explained it perfectly!

I hope you love it!

Becca and The Books me too. It sounds great. I do have to say I’m not huge into smut but I can skim those parts. 😆

nope
