nitro ride op (michael) here, i was the load attendant when yall boarded. it was cool to see ya'll finally! good video collin :)
What trains are y’all using this year?
Thank you!
Hey Michael, were u the man w those glasses? I'm the kid who marathoned for a few rides lmao
@@JD.778 right now were using A and D train. hopefully before memorial day weekend we'll have A, C and D trains running. so we can move lines quicker!
I just want to say thank you. I stumbled upon your channel because I'm coming to the park soon and I needed information. You seem to have the most consistent coverage of the park. I really appreciate it as someone who's never been there and needs to learn as much as they can before they go. My son and I are hitting Great Adventure, Six flags america, Kings dominion, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg as a 13th birthday roller coaster trip. Our first stop is Great Adventure. We're so excited. Thanks again for being so thorough
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy your trip!
Free lockers is a massive plus. The current system is essentially charging you to ride
YES MEDUSA IS OPENED!!!
Saw a Ka rollback happen on Saturday, I was in line at the loading station for Toro, it was so cool to see from that angle!!
i was there.. managed to ride el toro 29 times since the park was so empty 😂
I feel like they should put a flat ride (flying scooters?) at or at least around the same area where El Diablo used to be. Hopefully they might do something like that next year.
Or they’ll finally use Chaos old spot
Never rode the log flume ride before and I’m dying to!!! Hope it opens soon
I hope the entrance plaza and station for flash is as good as bobcat at great escape
I was there so it was a pretty cool day until it was started raining and I finally got a chance to ride Kingda ka and then it closed down because of the rain
I was there while y’all were there!! I was on a 8th grade trip and im so sad I couldn’t see you guys lol 😂
Woo hoo 🎉
I'm just hoping the new flash ride with be available by mid-June.
I’m thinking 4th of july
My best guess would be Late June/July!
Dang. I'm going on a trip there maybe the 20th so hopefully it's up by then. I mean with the progress they are at its looking like it might happen
I asked the employee at toro and he told me that lockers were just for flash pass. I could see more lockers being added during the off season and then next year they become fully complementary
That's what we employees were told but from the positioning and fact that Toro's lockers will be double sided, they might be for everyone after they exit the set of switchbacks. There's also not really anything stopping standby queue people from using them since that's where the merge is.
@@ZMSaypol true I hadn’t thought of it like that
Mine train getting ready!
Wanna get out here soon definitely exited to get on ka and el toro when I do
Do you think flash will be open by June 22?
we were there same day. Unfortunately had an issue with trying to ride Toro. I've gone thru the single rider line since the season opened without a problem, but this time the guy said that they only allow single riders when they have 2 trains running. Which is crazy and not true, because every time this year I've been on it there was only one train running. and what's worse is there were so many people in line and they were sending up trains that were not full.....very disappointing!!
I just went yesterday. It was fairly crowded. Do you know why they are only running one train for many of the coasters? Green Latern, Batman, JD, and El Toro all had only one train running. Nitro had two, which wasn't bad, and Kingda Ka had all 3 (incredibly fast ride operations as usual). The one train operations really slowed down some of the lines, especially JD, which was almost a 90 minute wait for me. JD running on one train is a joke since it can only fit 12 people. I have noticed this one train operation on other days I have been there as well. I am hoping by memorial day weekend they will have more of the trains running.
Employee here. Because the park opened very early for the year and the high amount of projects the park has got going on for the 50th anniversary, the lack of time has unfortunately resulted in one train ops for nearly all coasters. I hear a few rides should be getting their second train next weekend but that the B&Ms will have to wait a tad longer.
@@ZMSaypol Thanks for the info. That sounds good. JD is the main one that bothered me, because as you know, it can only fit a very mininum amount of people. The B&M's are usually much higher capacity, sitting 4 in a row, so they tend to not be as bad, even with one train operating.
@@josephmoore5949 of course! From what I understand the only reason Devil is on one train is a tech issue with the other train that’s fully built. Once that’s fixed, it’ll be good to go!
I went to sfga thi Sunday and I saw they were starting to build the final part idk what these guys are on to be working this fast lol.
Which rides have the double sided lockers (flash pass queue)?
Joker, Jersey Devil, and Kingda Ka
I’m coming to the park in exactly 2 weeks from now, June 4, and I just had a few questions. What rides should I start with? I’ll arrive at 12 and leave at 3, so about 4 hours. I just wanted to cram in as many rides as possible in a short time. Sorry for the long comment. Keep up the great content.
It depends on what you’re prioritizing. Jersey Devil has been tending to get the longest line, so you may want to do that first. Superman and Green Lantern have also been tending to have longer lines, and El Toro may as well.
@@ColiwoodStudiosGreen Lantern and long lines shouldn’t be in the same sentence
At the bottom of green lantern’s drop right before the track changes to yellow I noticed some test paint that looks like the same shade of green as Medusa which seems weird to me
That may just be weld spots that they covered with that color of paint since they don’t have Green Lantern’s actual color available
@@ColiwoodStudios that makes sense
Do you think flash will be open before TT2?
Maybe!
You grilled magic mountain for one train operations but when great adventure does it you gloss over it. Same goes for rides closed right now.
Big difference is that at Magic Mountain, that was during the middle of the summer during the most busy time of year (excluding Fright Fest). Here, we haven’t even reached summer yet. If capacity doesn’t improve by the time summer starts, then absolutely, the same criticism should be applied here, but that’s not the case as of now.
Alright buddy. I just visited Magic Mountain this past weekend and Great Adventure is my home park, so I think I’m pretty qualified for this issue. When you run one train, obviously capacity is going to suck. When parks run one train, they do so for an issue with one of the trains, a lack of staff, or a lack of guests in the park that makes running multiple trains necessary. When you run one train in the middle of the summer on nearly every ride, it becomes apparent that the reason is usually a lack of staff. Because this issue is relatively fixable (especially when compared to the other reasons), you’ll often hear people complain. Additionally, I found Great Adventure’s employees SIGNIFICANTLY more engaging than the Magic Mountain ride ops who look bored out of their minds. Guest engagement is key to making long lines feel shorter, and is something that’s not that hard to do.
Coliwood, what IS the scoring record on b4m?
I’m pretty sure it’s 999999!
when do you think the skyride buckets will return?
Hopefully at some point this season!
I thought the 50th anniversary started June 1st
The website just says june
@@TheEman123 so what is it June or July
The official 50th anniversary is on July 1st, but the celebration runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, all summer long!
So is flash going to be done by June or July first most likely July tho right
Are they removing skyway?
I doubt that from what I’m hearing. It just needs some work done on it
No official word has been shared on Skyway as of now
