I actually started off the series with OneeChanbara ORIGIN. The story of 2 sisters kicking undead a$$, having some sisterly bonding time, and Aya is just so beautiful in terms of her appearance and personality.☺️❤ As of late, I’m trying to platinum the game before moving onto Z2: Chaos. I highly recommend this series if you’re into good relationships between older and younger sister, hack n slash, zombies, and fanservice via Aya if that’s what you’re into.😉✌🏼
@@redmage8719 - That costume was waaay too close.🫣🍓🍌 I even wonder if that’s possible for *Origin* if they ever update the game. Idk, Aya’s model from the latter just looks so huggable and kissable to me.😚🫂❤️⚔️🧟♀️

@@redmage8719 Yep and hopefully Nintendo keeps the Fan Service Game Remasters coming to also for the Nintendo Switch 2 Physically I'm not a fan of Digital Only games.
I just got into ORIGIN last year. I noticed that for a self-taught, younger sister, Saki hits harder than Aya, lol. Having to switch between the Nodachi and Gauntlets was awesome, but that doesn’t mean I’m bashing on Aya’s Katanas.😁🗡️👊🏼⚔️
Wii game play was different compared to other games in franchise. You used nunchuck and wii mote, each controlling a sword from Aya. Depending on your swings for each sword affected the combos on screen. It was fun, but a workout, a fun workout if you got the timing of swings to make combos.
As a long time vet of this series im glad its getting recognition more and more, i hope that they make another game in the origins art stlye cuz i feel that it fits the franchise best 👌
i got into this series years ago, cause i would see Z2 pop up in alot of "hidden gem" videos and i was fiendin" for a simple hack and slash game to play. so, i took a chance and loved the series ever since. some time after that, they announced origins which was good for me, cause it was essentially a remake of the first and second games and the older games seems to be japanese only or from older systems i'm not willing to buy. just wish they'd remake the game that started the vampiric sisters or maybe even make a brand new game for the series. if you want a simple game with mindless fun, you can't go wrong with oneechanbara.
Haven’t played these games for a while but I love zombie games and anime fan service games. So these games are right up my alley. Thank you Scott the woz for getting me into it
Nice. Oneechanbara Z was the game that made me learn about CERO ratings when I tried to make a digital purchase in 2017. Can’t buy Z rated games without a credit card kids!! The series is fun but the older games are really frustrating, especially Revolution for the Wii. Playing it makes you literally exhausted. I always thought the Wii and 360 games were the same. Lol oh well. Fun series glad you finally picked it up.
I got one of these games in highechool on my xbox 360 - it was my detune kusoge slash ‘em up after school when I wanted to just chill out. But I got Origins last year on a steam sale, and then the other one… ZX2? Played those two a good bit, but really enjoyed Origins the most. Great art direction and awesome modes.
My only experience was one that was on wii. It had the same problem that TMNT had on wii, they mapped the basic attack to a wii remote shake and you're just basically shaking your hand 10,15, 20 minutes at a time 😵💫 Both games would've so much better if they had classic controller support
I only ever played the Wii entry but that was probably decade ago but I do remember not liking it maybe the later games are a bit better the game play footage does seem a little better then I remember it being on Wii.
Wondered if a retrospective or a single game. But nope retrospective. Didn't know the School one was a spin off. Not played the others besides Z2 Chaos, only seeing videos on the entries. May have to check them out via emulation to see the differences between them for now then buy them later when possible. The series has its moments. Simple series to Z2 chaos. I agree you do feel it's an arcade story presentation. It is pretty good Z2 Chaos even thought jumps as a dash is awkward, the rest is good enough even if I find Senran Kagura more polished probably even other TamSoft games of certain eras. The games are good enough but yhe jank is there or odd decisions besides their low to higher budget at times. The older ones I don't know enough about but seem basic but thr seires is very much enjoy the cutscenes, dialogue and basic hack n slash/fair violence. The series is yes pure fan service, sometimes Splatterhouse overdone blood (I like the blood shaking off the sword mechanic) and fun silly moments. Something you only get with certain games. The combos are basic but fair, the weapons different enough, artstyles vary and well . Difficulty can be awkward though. Not played Lollipop Chainsaw but Wanted Dead with the chainsaw or probably boomer shooters but still the heavy weapon attacks in hack n slashes vary in good and not sure risk use cases.
Also thanks for confirming 60fps! Other reviews didnt even mention it.

Lei is the best character too
I want to be into this series.
Great video! A natural progression for a next video might be Samurai Maiden, which has somewhat similar vibes.
Thanks for the effort!
Solid review!

Nice, I was on the fence with the series, but they sound like a fun time, I'll have to check some out!
Also, the Z II chaos disc, DAMN
Excellent stuff as always, thank you. Leaving a comment here for the ole algorithm.
IIRC you mentioned it in Senran Kagura alternatives
(Even explaining the prononciation of the name)
Both are Tamsoft games respectively.😁👌🏼
when I played the game I always thought: this looks like and feels like an arcade game I can't explain why

I wonder if this series inspired "My one-hit-kill Sister"?
Yeah the fan service is change because of the PlayStation new policy of censorship which I still hate and I need the gun game haven’t both it
I play this on PS5 and really love it.

Fun fact: Saki in OneeChanbara Origin is voiced by Cristina Vee AKA Compa and Shantae.
Murderous, Dangerous. Two Deadly Girls.
I only heard of the game after watching the live action movie subtitled.
The one on the wii hurt my wrist in a different way than journos would have said in reviews.
Really wish they release all of oneechanbara on switch
Interesting, this recently went on sale, on steam.
I had issues with z2 chaos on my ps4 pro ,,, it crashed while playing and at one point it froze my ps4 and had to force reboot it ,,,
I think they also made EARTH DEFENSE FORCE.

is this the funny japanese zombie movie where everyone was so sexy
Is that why your Super Nintendo is yellow now?
Honestly Origin is the only one worth playing imo. The rest are just not very good.
So its like Drakengard 3 but with a less attractive main character.
don't play the last remake one its awful its anti-Fanservice
Origins is great and Rei is the best character
Suck it
