    I feel like AI Frank handled that question regarding Woke Culture extremely well. Very nuanced answer imo.

    I always watch Barry's reviews on TH-cam, so great to see him chatting with you blokes. I remember Frank mentioning the hoop with the 6 microphones and I have seen it in a photograph, but never heard anything that was recorded with it. I think he planned to use it with the Ensemble Modern? Of course the earliest quad recordings he made are on the quadrophiliac album. I am looking forward to the surround sound mixes of Apostrophe. I remember Frank saying that the fill bits on Excentrifugal Forz whizz around the room, so I hope they do indeed whizz like nothing has whizzed before. Personally I have had surround sound systems for over 30 years and am glad everyone seems to have settled for blu ray format. I never understood why there was SACD and DVD Audio when blu ray was already waiting in the side lines. Thanks to all involved for taking the time to discuss all this stuff. Anything Zappanese is always interesting.

    Thank you Barry. A fine job putting together some basic concepts for this interview. Your preparation helped facilitate a really fine interview.
    As we can hear between the concepts of Unreleased Songs, Sheik YerBouti and KISS The Greatest Band Ever there is an answer to as where there are music scores that have yet to have been performed. As much as a person conducting the interview can have some really fine questions prepared, it’s hard for many interviewers to react to the fore mentioned responses such as never before heard scores. Yes, if I may input a question here.
    When and if we will ever have a recording of Hunchentoot?
    While the score was written in 1972 what we have is a number of different arrangement that were recorded at the Caribou sessions in 1974, some of which has vocal overdubs at a later time. While I won’t go into the breakdown here , time is of affliction, the anniversary of the Caribou sessions is a reminder of the Hunchentoot Screenplay deserves a Broadway and or Theater Stage Production.
    Great to hear how these segments flow to Sheik YerBouti , IMHO Frank’s overdub Masterpiece.
    Where I have been living in Queens NY for 62 years a number of neighborhood folks were going to see KISS since their 73’ dates at the Coventry in Sunnyside. For further Conceptual Continuity that where Spider-Man comes from. I had to wait until their 2nd MSG engagement in Dec 77 but it’s great to hear the connection of 2 overdub masterpiece productions.
    The World Needs Hunchentoot

    1. Always nice to see 3 bald men in black T-shirts discussing one of the greatest composers of the 20th century!
    2. Where can I get Frank's phone number?
    3. My request to Joe would be to have a look at the You Are What You Is album. It would be nice to hear an official release of it with corrected speed adjustment.
    4. Failing that (or not) I'm also curious to see what can be done with the Thing-Fish album, which is the one and only Zappa album I detest.
    5. Kiss are OK, but they're not the greatest band of all time, Ahmet. Genesis is.

    As a huge Zappa fan, it's always great to hear people talk about his stuff. Joe is a great guy and has done a ton of work as the vaultmeister but it's really very sad that Dweezil and Ahmet can't patch up their differences. Everybody knows that Dweezil has 'the ears'. He's the real musician, he's the sound guy, he should work on Frank's music, at least co-operate. Ahmet has his merits, the guy has real charisma, he can be goofy and sincere at the blink of an eye, he cares for the music too but he's not a musician on Frank's level. Dweezil is. It's a goddamn shame. Gail sure spawned some ugly things before she joined the bleedin' choir invisible.

    • @johnnyb8250
      @johnnyb8250 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ahmet explains the truth behind Dweezil's complaints on his latest podcast. Dweezil is the only person who has been consistently disagreeable, and just as delusional as Gail could be. They have been trying in vain to get Dweezil on board and have been supportive. They are not shunning him, he shunning them. He is not a victim and people need to get over that idea. And if you look at the releases Dweezil was involved with early on, I would much rather have Ahmet and Joe in charge quite FRANKly.

    • @splankhoon
      @splankhoon หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johnnyb8250 You know the split of Zappa's legacy wasn't done right. Gail gave Ahmet and Diva a bigger share than Dweezil and Moon. Moon talks about it in her last book very clearly. As siblings they ought to even that out and hold equal shares.

    • @johnnyb8250
      @johnnyb8250 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@splankhoon Of course. But Dweezil's ideas about what should be done with Frank's vault would be disastrous for the fans. He also has no business acumen. There would be no deal with Universal and they would still be millions of dollars in debt. People are doing a lot of pro-Dweezil grandstanding without being informed or considering what it would have been like. We owe a lot of gratitude to Ahmet and Joe, and things are fine the way they are.

    They are faithful to Zappas intentions while he himself did not let sentimentality get in the way of changing things if he felt it was an improvement. Still they have seem to find a great middleway.

    Very good idea Ahmet, to focus all wokists on your dad, while he had those lyrics that can hurt them but they didn't know about it. 👍
    You think you can convince a population liying to itself and using legislation to chase all people not thinking as they do ? We'll end up with "He's so Gay" and "Bobby Brown" erased from the discography, amongst other tracks... Thank you a lot.
