When did Kamala Harris call people that? If you're insulted by being called a fascist or being called a racist, then don't behave like one. If you're wrongly labeled you can take "sticks and stones" approach. If you are a fascist or racist but don't like being called one, ask yourself why you're bothered by others revealing the truth.

I'm a cis-gendered, straight, white, Christian male from Mississippi that abstained from voting in the 2016 & 2020 presidential elections but voted for Trump this year. The leading Democratic public figures think of me as the most privileged person in the world. They believe that my socioeconomic status was ill-gotten; therefore, they believe that my status should be taken from me and that there is nothing I can say about this that is reasonable. You can hear this nonsense from them by the way those public figures are talking about WHY she lost: white supremacy, bigotry, transphobia, etc. If I'm in the cross-hairs, I'm going with the other guy.

As a middle-American, upper middle class white male Republican, I largely agree with this assessment. I told a liberal friend a few elections ago, "Why would I vote for a party that openly hates me? I'm not insane." However, I think that the Democrat party in its current form is completely incapable of fixing this. The most dynamic constituency of the Democrat party today is the hateful far left, and they would never agree to make any of these changes. The Democrats may therefore have achieved permanent minority status.

Two more presidential elections , and they will be a third party. I'm aware they are hoping that it will just be bad enough that they can win next time... The problem is they are well on their way to twenty years of being the negative nancy in the room.
By the second obama term they had already reached the point of being primarily the party of not like the other. Hillary's statement of deplorables was not out of the blue. Obama had said the same thing four years before.
Interesting enough, The votes are finally getting close to allowing the popular vote initiative to be activated. The democrats had assembled that in the years of believing that demographics meant that they would eventually win. That eventually , there would be enough young people and hispanics to finally give them complete dominion.
We are 5-6 states from the 270 mark, and the US finally becoming a popular vote nation... In four years I honestly would not be surprised to see the republican win the popular vote again. And when California's facing the high likelihood of having to put their electoral college votes behind the popular vote winner... And it be a republican?
At that point the democratic party will cease to exist. And we will finally have the multi party system that most democracies wind up with.

The Democrat challenge is to figure out non-government subsidy ways to benefit average people. The usual response is tax the rich. But average citizens hear this as tax the middle class to benefit the lazy poor while the rich dodge taxes with accountants and lawyers.
Republicans have a low inflation Energy Policy and will NOT go green until China and India are compliant too.
Republicans will impose tariffs on countries running trade surpluses for more than 5 years.
Republicans want Europeans to pull their own weight on European defense in NATO. The fact Trump gets European Leaders upset, is priceless to average Americans.

Why is Brokerage Account margin interest tax deductible but auto loan interest not tax deductible? I would allow both but with an annual cap for both at $5,000 per year.

    • @LittleRadicalThinker

@ Then you don’t even understand economics at all. Middle class is always being taxed regardless of policies. However, the poor is also always being taxed through something else other than the taxes on the paper. Who pays sales taxes, everyone, and it discriminately targets poor people much more. I never asked for democrats’s trash tax the rich policies because they are also rich people and will structure the laws in the ways so that they can avoid taxes too. Unfortunately closing tax loopholes are impossible unless prolonged social unrest occurs to force government to make good tax laws. One way is to tax all the assets by a percentage with a minimum wealth across all states, regardless of profit except something for basic survival like the house living in, and we don’t have that and we will never have that. It’s only time will tell what the future holds for this world.

Trump's vote from 2020 to 2024 was static and stayed at 72 million but the Democrats went from 82 million votes to 69 million. It suggests Democrat were staying at home rather than voting for them. I agree with everything he said and I admire his honesty that the Democrats lost the election but I felt the endless lawsuits and the nastiness of the campaign hurt them more than Trump.

What it suggests, to thinking people, is the Democrats has a massive cheating campaign in 2020, with electronic voting machines and mystery mail in votes that poured in at 03:00 from trucks all over the swing States.

Something to ponder: A candidate wants the most visible, and some would say - one of the most stressful jobs in the world. And you are not comfortable holding a real press conference? If you cannot think on your feet and spar with the press and deliver a clear concise message, then maybe this job just isn't for you. There were other much more qualified Democrats (Like Dean Phillips for example) that would have done better. A proper primary process, even if abridged, would have delivered a better candidate. People coalesce around a vision...Kamala never had one.

I'm a first-time listener, and really enjoyed this episode. The self-critique of the Democratic party offered by Christopher Hale was insightful, fascinating, and above all...very honest. Near the end of the episode, the narrator asks what the Democrats need to do to win in four years. I'd tell them: Listen to voices like Christopher Hale's.

The Democratic Party in the current state hates common sense and authenticity. It makes me sick to hear people talking about voting patterns a by race education and wealth. I defy all of what you expect based on how you think I would vote. Furthermore we don’t vote straight tickets. As long as politics deals in people as demographics you will miss the big picture: authenticity and common sense are key. The days of feeding the candidate on what to say based on polling are over.
