    Nice job there but... the way the device works is that the device you plug in has a signal generator that injects the signal on the active ac line. When you turn on the detector aka "signal tracer", it is looking for that particular signal which actually is present on all active breakers. The trick is that the signal is strongest at the line it originated on. The tracer senses the strongest signal as you scan the breakers. You are supposed to scan ALL breakers first so it will know what the strongest received signal is. Then when you scan the breakers again it should only trigger and beep on the correct breaker. Also note that the tracer should be held perpendicular to the breakers. If you had a panel with horizontal breakers you would need to hold the tracer accordingly. I hope this helps explain how it works.

    At the panel part Your supposed to first go over the breakers slowly for the tracer to “learn” the panel, then it should tell the correct breaker on the second pass

    It's very simple solution, I use it.

    explained clearly! wondering if the circuit lost the power and does this tool work for tracing the wire back to the panel?

    Does this tool locate which panel the breaker is in if you are working in a building with multiple panels?

    Not working for me. Getting false readings on a different breaker. Just beeping green when on the actual breaker

    Does anyone have experience using this tool with an electrical panel that utilizes tandem breakers? Can it pinpoint the correct individual circuit on the tandem breaker device (hope this question makes sense :)?

    What’s the difference between the Klein ET310 and the RT250 testers, do you need both? Thanks

    • @Suckitdownpipe
      @Suckitdownpipe 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The ET310 is for finding what breaker the outlet, light, switch, ect is on. The RT250 is a tester that lets you know if the outlet is wired correctly. It will display if it is correct or what the problem is. Also tells you what the voltage is and you can test CGFI circuits with it and it will display how long it took to trip it. It is the best recepticle tester in my opinion on the market and is the only one that I use. Check out a video on it. Hope this helps you.

    My breaker finder is a screwdriver

    The first run through the breakers is a "learning" run. The second will tell you exactly which breaker is the one you're tracing. You don't need to go off to the side like that.

    This is a great tool to have. The video is ok. However you're using it wrong. When using it in the panel you need to scan each breaker one at a time slower. Then scan each one again a second time at the same speed. On the second time this will let you know what breaker you are looking for. You where going to fast and bouncing back and forth from side to side. This is not a helpful video for someone trying to learn how to use this tester. Sorry but that's my opinion.

    You really have to figure out your focus situation. I think you’re using the wrong lens for your specific videos.

    I see what I was doing wrong. You have to scan next to the breakers, and not on them.

  • @JackElectrician

    To be honest, I used to use that tool and it’s didn’t work for me. Its was a wasted a time vs just turning off breaker one by one.
