- Well, it's the first Saturday of Fall league for the Roswell Varsity and Roswell Junior Varsity at Brunswick Zone Roswell in Roswell, Georgia, and we had enough interest to stage a PRODIGY event, so here we are with our first big competitive event of the year. And we have a somewhat unusual cast, as two players qualified for the stepladder finals who had never survived through a qualifying round until now.
As always, comments are welcome, but please keep them in the spirit of our slogan: "Celebrate Junior Bowling while we Elevate Junior Bowlers." Constructive criticism is always welcome. But cheap insults and dissing of junior bowlers is not.

This channel has gotten me so much better I’m 11 and I went bowling w/ my friend a couple days ago and scored 151 and a few weeks before that I scored 174 thanks brownswick!

Thanks for the great video! Funny thing...my home house is also 40 lanes, and 39 & 40 is the goofiest pair in the house, with extreme reactions ( and non-reactions). Must be something about end pairs.

I was in a bowling centre recently, and the mechanism had a horse kind-of-game, with spares! Do you think that you would consider that at all or, one of my favourite formats was the Halloween 1-2-3 I wad thinking a great format would be have a SR. roll off, AND, a JR. roll off! and then do a best of 7or 9 games in the 1-2-3 Halloween format...A kind of Best of Jr's and best of Sr's format! Does something like this seem feasable! That 1-2-3 Format proved truly exciting!

Zquigly - This pair had been bowled on so much that they were hooking quite a bit. I haven't seen players have to get so deep on the lane on our house shot in a while.

I hope my local center is this active. I'm 23 now but I'd like to find a semi-competitive adult league to join. I just bought a new Pyramid Pathogen and I'm excited to get it drilled and start bowling again. I've been on a 6 year hiatus since high school.
Hey coach Randy, I just got a new bowling ball, and I'm trying to learn how to throw it so that it will hook (my old ball was just a plastic one). Do you or anyone else have any tips for me as far as how I should release it. Thanks
FaZe Monkey - Don't "spin" it at the bottom. The modern ball is made to hook. Keep a real relaxed thumb and just roll it off your fingers.

When does bowling season end
Toy Freddy The Adrian The Great Palmer - The bowling season roughly parallels the school year. It starts in the Fall (usually just after Labor Day) and ends in the Spring (usually just before Memorial Day). That's how long most full length "Fall leagues" go.

I have a t-zone deep space and that's what I use to shoot at 10 pins and I use my strikeking to shoot at the 7 and 6 pins
I really really like tristins swing. It looks like it's super free and he doesn't muscle it at all. It seems that way from our perspective anyway.
Flaming Seagul - Yes, that's the goodnews. The fact that his swing is so tension free is a big, big thing. But it travels on one path going back, and a different path coming forward. If we can get those two swing planes to align, Tristin will start to be dangerous.
Yes. If he fixes that, he will be golden. I had issues with muscling the ball early in my career bowling, it's much easier to fix swing plain then muscling it in my opinion.
And I'm very impressed with christian(apart from the tantrum). I've been watching since you first started these, he's really got some power in he swing and can definitely hit it on the bottom now.
I agree that he should most definitely have Come up the back of it more; been a little more firm and straight. Straighter is greater as they say.

Chalie buddy, your only issue this show was not recognizing the ball you needed to use, the ball you were using on 40 should have not been the same ball you use on 39, the first ball you threw to begin the match is more aggressive you should have used it on 39. starting at 25 throwing to 10 at the break point.

BullyBrian 82 - Because he gets around it too much. He almost throws a spinner, as the ball is rotating around an axis that is almost vertical. I would like to see him stay more behind it as he lets it go.
Before I really had a hard struggle in hooking a ball. Well I just got in to bowling, but I tried so many times watching TH-cam tutorials watching Prodigy Bowlers Tour and I really wanted to learn how to hook a ball. And I watched Jason Belmonte, Ej Tackett and others but Jason Belmonte got a lot of awful comments that 2 handed bowling is cheating. So I decided to learn one handed hook ball. But just a while ago, I played bowling and my friend tried two handed bowling. And I wanted to try. My friend's throw was a gutter ball. I tried and it hooked. On the next frame, I tried and got a strike. So now, I use two hand to strike and one hand for a straight ball spare.
Well I just use those plastic balls in the bowling alleys
Val Nathan Ferrer - If you were using plastic house balls, that's likely why you weren't able to get the ball to hook one-handed. Plastic balls are used by pros to shoot spares with because they don't hook. Consider getting a reactive resin ball. Your pro shop operator will know what that means.
As a mechanic on these things, seeing bowlers hit ball returns makes me cringe. Don't be that person Christian
Cody Miles sorry, after that 9 / when I left the 4-6-7 I couldn't take it anymore. These lanes feel like I was bowling on the PBA Wolf pattern. They were extremely dry. Especially lane 40. Again sorry.

I would love to, Raul. I spent the better part of 25 years living in the Dallas-Fort Worth "metroplex" and have fond memories of my time there. In fact, that's where I lived during the brief period of my life when I was a PBA member. I am planning on coming to Junior Gold next Summer when it'll be held in Dallas. So maybe that would be a good opportunity to film a PRODIGY episode that's TRULY a "Road Show!" (Although I can tell you my first choice would not be Lewisville. My first choice would be to go to the bowling center where I spent so many hundreds of hours practicing -- at Forum Bowl in Grand Prairie, TX.) I might just have to try to work that out between now and July.
It was crazy on our first day back. I just got back into bowling this summer and my first day was great. This was how our bowling league was divided into.
***We got Bummer Bowling for Ages 5 and under
***We got Spare Shooters for Ages 6-9
***We got Stars Strikers for Ages 10-14 that's where I'm Bowling in
***Then Finally Splits And Grits. Or that's what I think it's called 😂 for Ages 15-20
My first game was like a warm up. Though I didn't do bad it could of done better. I shot a 123 and so did one of my teammates
The second game, I don't know what I was on the pocket pretty much most of them time. That game me a high game of 180 like WAHT?
Third Game, It was pretty Sure Like the Second Game with a 163.
But I can tell you this? This kids done here are some good split spare shooters I tell you that much😂😂 Every week they say it's gonna be a sports shot but since it was the first week, we bowled on house shot. Wish me luck next week!

Not a fan of Christians temper tantrum at 1:21:00 or so. He has needed to move right on that lane all day and didn't make the adjustment. Don't hit equipment just because you need to vent. Get a grip young man....no one likes to see that behavior
Agreed on all counts (except the part about needing to move right -- you're wrong about that -- everything to the right was burned up). FWIW, Christian went out of his way after the filming to apologize. He's one to stomp his feet sometimes, but that was the first time I ever saw him bang any equipment (besides the floor).

Personally I think if you use a plastic ball to shoot at spares you should throw it at all single pins. Take the lane out of question and make an easy spare.
B Fielder - The only exceptions I make are when you're shooting pins that call for a strike ball with, possibly, just a slight adjustment. 1 pin, 5 pin, 3 pin, 8, 9. And I recommend throwing a reactive ball (or whatever you're using on strikes) for all spares with double wood (sleepers).
