Not that you asked me, but imo, swig has terrible frame data, a weirdly skinny vertical hit box and inconsistent damage ranges. While swig has spread moves, their killing time is awful and hard to reliably anticipate as a user, while having to jump for verticals to only miss in the end makes it far less consistent. It feels like a wet, flimsy noodle compared to stamper. Also, swig's kits suck, especially compared to stamp. I used to try to get into swig, stamp feels much better imo

@@SALTYTOAD00 My guy splash wall is 65%, Burst can't possibly be worse at draining the ink tank mid-fight than that. One of the cool things I found when playing Wellstring is if you want your spread of shots to be closer when charging up for a longer shot, jumping and letting go half way will bunch the shots together! It’s another reason why I love this weapon so much as it feels incredibly flexible for a backliner

Splashdown on custom Explosher is still one of the dumbest kits I have ever seen. I want someone to make one of those “who do you think took your…” memes with Kensa Machine, Splatoon 3 Machine and Custom Explosher.
@@yoursnatchedweave641 Splashdown is a special that requires you to be near the enemy in order to do anything beneficial at all. Because of this, its only useful on Explosher as a panic button. Realistically, you shouldn’t need a panic button as the best play is to just not be near the enemy in the first place, as Explosher is a backline weapon. This means that outside of the specific scenario where your team has already failed to prevent the enemy from advancing, filling up that special gage and painting does absolutely nothing to help you push the objective - this means that it also helps cause the problem you’d like to avoid that it can occasionally help solve, because other specials like killer wail, booyah bomb, tenta missiles, ink strike and trizooka would allow you to push the enemy back *before* you have to use a panic button, while also being useful to push objective. its only useful if you play super aggressively, and can be punished easily since explosher has a slow fire rate meaning that if its dodged, you’e going to get splatted. Technically triple splashdown has a much larger radius than splashdown and it can help explosher stay in a position as an anchor (explosher has trouble painting its own feet too) but I still feel like its only situationally useful. Splashdown was even worse on Kensa Machine, as though that was a midline weapon, Machine generally wants to keep enemies just within range, original splashdown had such a small area of effect that it couldn’t be used offensively by Machine very well and was only useful as a panic button. Panic buttons are more useful on backlines than midlines which don’’t need them I guess, but still not fantastic.
@@yoursnatchedweave641 You cared. You asked for my opinion and then said i’m “sucking the fun out of the game” because I analysed the kit. This video is literally about competitive Splatoon, and you’re surprised to hear serious analysis of a weapon. That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it or its special, i’m saying this from the perspective of someone who mained Machine in Splatoon 2 - fun has its place. I’ve started maining Bamboo MK 2 literally just because it’s a fun weapon, doesn’t mean I think it’s perfect. If for you, analysis and playing a game competitively is the antithesis of fun, why are you watching this video which would clearly ruin your mood?
I actually quite like Wellstring's Autobomb. For me the Tracking is easier to play off of than Point Sensor's. On top of that, a main of Sub Power Up makes it's throwing range similar to Wellstring's max, which is good for trapping at range, especially against other backlines. Also, dropping one at your feet when being Rushed down is suprisingly good at trading you out if you don't escape. I was wondering at first why I recognized the background music, then I realized it was from Kid Icarus Uprising. An excellent choice.
I love running opening gambit on Custom Wellstring :) It might not always work out but it can get early assists and/or kills fairly easily and is fun to play aggressively!
so glad to see explo love even if it has some competition!!! im 100% biased, but i feel the comfort explo brings me from having played it since s2 puts it above for me. i dont have to spend as much concentration on using my weapon and can worry about other things as a result. plus, giant radiator tossing out massive balls of ink is so cool to me. again, so glad to see explo love!!!
As a (Custom) Wellstring main, I LOVE the thrill of being able to switch from passive support to a full-on slayer! Cool to see the weapon get some much needed recognition. Really is a slow burner type.
In splatoon 1 the heavy weapons were just that but since 2 they put so much originality in them, they are by far the most fun weapons in the series in my opinion
I feel like Explosher with Angle Shooter and Crab Tank would go so hard. Angle Shooter is basically a cheaper but much harder point sensor that can paint your feet and deal combo damage. If they make the line do 20.0 damage then that can combo with a 90. And Crab Tank is great with shredding objects easier, hitting pesky enemies on grates and Inkjets more easily and protecting itself with ball form if it needs to, like Baller in S2. Even if it's not the best kit it still sounds like a ton of fun. Please Nintendo there's still hope!
I'd love to see a comparison between Dynamo Rollers and Pain Brushes! I used to play Dynamo back in Splatoon 1, and Pain Brush reminded me a lot of Dynamo when it first came out with its paint and AoE!
As a person who has mained the Tri-stringer class since launch and has learned how to properly and consistently use them, i am very happy that Wellstring has gained popularity. This makes me feel like that i am not basically the only one playing that class. ...on the other hand i now have to deal with people actually knowing how to counter that weapon and i don't see people on x rank trying to hide behind obstacles i can shoot over too much anymore.
I used the Custom Wellstring for a good bit, the combination of wave breaker and point sensor is an absolute recon paradise, if your team relies on constant intel of enemy's location to play well you will absolutely swear by this weapon, hell why not even tag the enemies and kill them yourself!
Suprised you didn't mention this for Explo: Hitting anybody with the glob/explosion reveals their position on the map for a few seconds as if they were standing next to a beacon. its absolutely a niche mechanic that isn't going to impact the general playstyle of the weapon outside of those specific situations, but its something interesting to mention
@@Swarming-Languendono it's just anyone who's taken that much damage period. Including if they're standing in your ink, it'll reveal their position till they heal
A good comparison would be splash-o-matic, splattershot, and 52 gal. It is hard from a solo player's perspective on which is better since they have similar roles and are generally good regardless of the meta.
I really wanted to see explo have wave breaker. It just feels right to be on explo for some reason. I’ve always wanted it on tri stringer before wellstring was announced.
I want to see a video comparing Very Cool Gun (Nzap 89) versus Very Cool Gun 2 Electric Boogaloo (Hedit) Ig in general is a video explaining the viability and comparison of the current Cooler weapons, and what could be done to make the lesser prominent cooler weapons more viable (if this wasn’t was video you’ve already made)
Bonus category: Which is easier for new/returning players to re/learn? I would have to give the edge to Custom Explo. I think the kit is easier to learn, and the charge can be a bit trickier to navigate at first due to it being more complicated than just tapping ZR.
i hate to admit it, but i really think people are underrating vwellstring right now. the option for self defense paired with wellstring's superior mobility shores up the close range weakness in a way that makes explosher look like chump change hoping explosher can get some buffs to put it more on par with options like wellstring and rapid pro, that object damage is enough to make me blush...
For me I prefer custom explo purely because of splashdown. It's a free ink tank refill and melts anyone nearby which means your going to have way more uptime, and also allows for explosher to have more aggressive plays than usual. Although I think wellstring is a better main weapon I'd pick cexplo purely because of splashdown and how nutty it is rn

Panic buttons are more useful on backlines than midlines which don’’t need them I guess, but still not fantastic.
@@Big-Chungus21 who cares. it's a fun special. if you want to suck the fun out of everything go play splattershot
If for you, analysis and playing a game competitively is the antithesis of fun, why are you watching this video which would clearly ruin your mood?
guys stop fihgting lets all woomy together....
Explosher mentioned 🗣️🗣️ my weapon since Splatoon 2. Big heater goes boom
I love running opening gambit on Custom Wellstring :)
It might not always work out but it can get early assists and/or kills fairly easily and is fun to play aggressively!
so glad to see explo love even if it has some competition!!! im 100% biased, but i feel the comfort explo brings me from having played it since s2 puts it above for me. i dont have to spend as much concentration on using my weapon and can worry about other things as a result. plus, giant radiator tossing out massive balls of ink is so cool to me. again, so glad to see explo love!!!
As a (Custom) Wellstring main, I LOVE the thrill of being able to switch from passive support to a full-on slayer! Cool to see the weapon get some much needed recognition. Really is a slow burner type.
Roller and decav comparison one billion percent maybe swig and dynamo comparison too
In splatoon 1 the heavy weapons were just that but since 2 they put so much originality in them, they are by far the most fun weapons in the series in my opinion
Please Nintendo there's still hope!
i think wellstring shines most at area denial. at least that's the impression I have from all the games i've been playing against it recently
Chara talking extensively about my two favorite weapons in the game ??
This is a good day.
This makes me feel like that i am not basically the only one playing that class.
...on the other hand i now have to deal with people actually knowing how to counter that weapon and i don't see people on x rank trying to hide behind obstacles i can shoot over too much anymore.
so nice to see the explosher no longer being slept on, it shredded during tricolor
Guys I have a feeling the editors miiiiight like kid icarus uprising (based)
Hopefully explosher doesn’t push dynamo down at all. I have trouble fighting exploshers with dynamo
All the weapons I happen to like have been meta for some reason. It’s pretty awesome.
I used the Custom Wellstring for a good bit, the combination of wave breaker and point sensor is an absolute recon paradise, if your team relies on constant intel of enemy's location to play well you will absolutely swear by this weapon, hell why not even tag the enemies and kill them yourself!
If we’re doing more comparisons, I’d love to see Gloogas VS 96
Unfortunately to this day you can still parry every stringer direct with squid roll. Unlikely, but when it happens, it hurts
Picking Pit and G&W was intentional because of their neutral B and down B 🤨
Suprised you didn't mention this for Explo:
Hitting anybody with the glob/explosion reveals their position on the map for a few seconds as if they were standing next to a beacon. its absolutely a niche mechanic that isn't going to impact the general playstyle of the weapon outside of those specific situations, but its something interesting to mention
That's a mechanic for anyone who has more than 20 damage, so it's not unique to it. You can do the same with Wellstring if one explosion hits
Thats just due to the amount of damage it does, it gets stuff out of that but I don't think its a major point.
@@maskofice9432 HUH? Thats a thing? I genuinely never noticed that. Is that specifically if an explosion hits someone whos taken more than 20HP?
@@Swarming-Languendono it's just anyone who's taken that much damage period. Including if they're standing in your ink, it'll reveal their position till they heal
I’d love to see a comparison of the snipers. All of them, any of them.
A good comparison would be splash-o-matic, splattershot, and 52 gal. It is hard from a solo player's perspective on which is better since they have similar roles and are generally good regardless of the meta.
So glad I’ve been a wellstring believer since day 1
Wellspring is definitely my favorite to use. Especially in rainmaker. It demolishes the shield in like two hits usually.
Q. Explo or Wellstring in zones?
A. PEN is better.
as an explosher main who also enjoyed the idea of wellstring, I see this as an absolute win.
Can you make a comparison with 52 & Gloogas ? :)
You should compare vslosher and maybe deco slosher to stamper
I think it would be interesting seeing something like the Splat Rollers vs the Tri Sloshers. I find both weapons to be quite similar
I really wanted to see explo have wave breaker. It just feels right to be on explo for some reason. I’ve always wanted it on tri stringer before wellstring was announced.
In my opinion, the secondary explosions alone on wellstring hand it the painting category
Great video idea !
I want to see a video comparing Very Cool Gun (Nzap 89) versus Very Cool Gun 2 Electric Boogaloo (Hedit)
Ig in general is a video explaining the viability and comparison of the current Cooler weapons, and what could be done to make the lesser prominent cooler weapons more viable (if this wasn’t was video you’ve already made)
Bonus category: Which is easier for new/returning players to re/learn?
I would have to give the edge to Custom Explo. I think the kit is easier to learn, and the charge can be a bit trickier to navigate at first due to it being more complicated than just tapping ZR.
Stringers mentioned😍🗣️🎙️
i hate to admit it, but i really think people are underrating vwellstring right now. the option for self defense paired with wellstring's superior mobility shores up the close range weakness in a way that makes explosher look like chump change
hoping explosher can get some buffs to put it more on par with options like wellstring and rapid pro, that object damage is enough to make me blush...
I like the wellspring! feels like a good heavy bow!
You should do 2 of your favourite weapons next time!if you don’t have any favourites that’s ok😊
I do not care, both have "the funny" in all parts of their kits
Me, who has played explo since splat2, happy to see my main shine bright: ^v^
For me I prefer custom explo purely because of splashdown. It's a free ink tank refill and melts anyone nearby which means your going to have way more uptime, and also allows for explosher to have more aggressive plays than usual. Although I think wellstring is a better main weapon I'd pick cexplo purely because of splashdown and how nutty it is rn
I hope you can eventually make another “tips for the weapons” video now that we got a bunch of new ones since the last video :)
Mint and Vroller/Carbon will be a very good comparison
i wanted wave on explo since they started releasing second kits, the combo potential would be crazy
Wellstring can very easily just tap shot when you're trying to close the gap, typically killing you without delay
i need explo to be good so badly
Bow if you want damage, explo if you want stability
Explo and Wellstring my beloved…
I wanna see a Bubble matchup: vRoller vs Mint!
These are everywhere. I would say the wellstring is better because it has less endlag and shoots more. It also does more object damage.

I remember when Custom Wellstring V was announced, people were upset about its kit, since point sensors and Wave Breaker seemed, repetitive? l would still prefer a different special that would make it easier to protect you if an opponent got too close. I like Wave Breaker, but I still feel it doesn't belong on that weapon.
I think a good comparison would be Douser Dualies vs Jet Squelcher
Man it’s funny how people thought custom explo was garbage on launch, but it wound up being better than vanilla
“Radiuses” 😭
I’d love to see a comparison of Dualie Squelchers and Douser Dualies
