    In San Diego, USA, I ran out of gas on a freeway ramp that was very busy. No one stopped to help me, except a Mexican family from Tijuana. A young (and beautiful) lady got out of the car along with another family member to ask if I needed help. This in spite of cars whizzing by at high speed. I could not believe it. I reassured her that I was OK and let her know I had called a tow service. I won't forget that.

      Your country is not your politicians. I feel that's where you're going at.
      We're not proud of our politicians, nor the corruption, violence, classism, among other things.
      But..most of us are not like that. The vast majority of us are warm and kind. And I'm sure it's the same for your country as well.
      Always be proud of your heritage. The good kind.

    • @ninjask8ter
      @ninjask8ter 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@unusuario5173 The thing is that there really isn't any heritage in the United States. There's no culture like there is in Mexico. A good example I saw one time in Mexico. They had just won a football championship. There were literally thousands of people in the street chanting "Mexico!" "Mexico!"' That would never happen in the United States.
      Secondly- ' Warm and Kind' people in the U.S. ? All politics aside- the people in the United States are NOT nice, warm, or kind, in any way shape or form. This is especially true in the big cities. Most are entitled and they think of themselves as 'elite'. The only reason I come back home is to get paid- that's it!

    • @jaysonemile6633
      @jaysonemile6633 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ninjask8ter i agree with you on the part their is no heritage. I am grateful for the opportunities this country provided my parents because my parents are from Haiti which is a really poor country. And they have made a good living here for me and my siblings. But I never felt connected to “America” I guess it’s a lack of culture. I’m Haitian American but I just say I’m Haitian. I’m 16 btw.

    • @kellymckay4169
      @kellymckay4169 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your lack of connection can also come from within. It’s totally false there is a “lack” of culture. It might not be as old or deep, but it’s equally rich. Id go as far as to say that only Worlds Wars and Vietnam did more to define the 20th Century than culture. Cultures were born, some carried on, some evolved, some died as time went on. If you don’t see culture, you’re simply not looking for it.

    Mexico is unique in many many ways, to me, there's no other place like Mexico, there's poverty, yes, there's drugs related violence, yes, there's corruption, yes: it's not picture perfect, yes we know that, nevertheless there's something about Mexico, after you visit or live there for a certain period of time, that makes you want to go back. Hi. My name is David. I'm 65. So when I was 18 back in 1971, I lived in Mexico City. I totally agree when you said "you can leave Mexico but Mexico doesn't leave you". I lived there for three years. Your videos brought back so many memories. I have been to all the places you have been to except Oaxaca. But I myself have many experiences to share as well. I have enjoyed very much Your videos. I lived in Villa Coapa which is in southern Mexico City. This year is the 50th anniversary of Villa Coapa. It was built for preparation of the 1968 Olympics that were held in Mexico City. Villa Olímpica was also built and was the first time that housing for the athletes was rented and then later sold as housing. Villa Coapa was close community where it seemed like everyone knew everyone. Many friends I knew then I still keep in contact with today. Some still live in Mexico. But others in Cuba, Michigan, and Canada. I love Mexico for the warm and caring people I have met over the years.
    I love the history of Mexico because of many great cultures that have been a part of it. Thanks for the great Videos and keep them coming. I will also share some tidbits with you.✌

    I won’t forget one time back in 2011 I went to visit some family and friends, it was fun. One day I got bored and decided to visit the cyber cafe because it was so close to the house I was staying at. After a few hours I finished with my internet surfing and went back to the house, but along the way the roads I miraculously confused myself and was totally lost on how to get back. I started panicking and was so worried that I was lost in a country I’m not native to. Some young lady realized something was wrong because she told me that I went in a complete circle a few times around the block LOL. Anyhow, she offered to walk me back and help me figure out my way back. I was so shocked and happy. She didn’t have to do that for me, but she did and got me home safely. I gave her clues on the appearance of the streets and the nearby businesses around that street. Soon enough she figured it out and got me to the right street! From there on I remembered what house I was saying at. I won’t ever forget that kind deed of hers.

    I first started going there when I married into a family from Mexico 18 years ago. Every year we went to Celaya GTO to sell toys in the Pulga for Tres Reyes. It was there that I fell in love with the country. I have never felt so at peace there. Where I live it is a Buffet. I walk down the street and this place sells fresh fruit and veggies and next door I can get fresh juice made right there. The tortillas are just down the street. Barbacoa to die for is next door. In the U.S. they have a yearly National Night out in Mexico that's every night. I saw kids playing on the sidewalks and being watched by a sister or Aunt or Grandma. The adult would get up and another would sit down to supervise. They have almost no racism because walking down the street you will see a gentleman with blond hair and green eyes holding the hands of an indian. Kids help out the family in getting along. There is a 10 year old girl at the Pulga that runs her familys booth and keeps all the records as if she were an adult. I love it so much I bacame a resident and will soon be permanent. Yes it really gets in you and stays!
    Comencé a ir allí cuando me casé con una familia de México hace 18 años. Cada año fuimos a Celaya GTO para vender juguetes en la Pulga para Tres Reyes. Fue allí donde me enamoré del país. Nunca me he sentido tan en paz allí. Donde vivo es un buffet. Camino por la calle y este lugar vende frutas y verduras frescas y al lado puedo hacer zumos recién hechos. Las tortillas están justo bajando la calle. Barbacoa para morirse está al lado. En los Estados Unidos tienen una Noche Nacional anual en México que es todas las noches. Vi a niños jugando en las aceras y siendo observados por una hermana o tía o abuela. El adulto se levantaba y otro se sentaba a supervisar. Casi no tienen racismo porque caminando por la calle verás a un caballero con cabello rubio y ojos verdes que sostienen las manos de un indio. Los niños ayudan a la familia a llevarse bien. Hay una niña de 10 años en la Pulga que dirige el stand de su familia y mantiene todos los registros como si fuera una adulta. Me encanta tanto que soy un residente y pronto seré permanente. Sí, realmente se mete en ti y se queda!

    I left Mexico 22 years ago. Interestingly, I didn't really "know Mexico" until now that there's so much access to the internet. And it's sad. I was too young (and too broke) to travel. But now that I'm grown and making my own many, things might change. I see there's a lot to love in my own country. And in this one (United States) too. This video has helped me realize that a country doesn't necessarily belong to only those who live in it. But to anyone who's willing to love it, see it as their home, or open to learn more about it.

      The New Travel what a beautiful video! I'm Mexican-American but visiting Mexico City at age 20 changed my life. From bus rides through Oaxaca, to cabrito in Monterrey to strolling through Taxco, I come back for more and more.
      One of the major ways Mexico has changed me is the example you gave of the tequila shot: when you visit people in Mexico, sometimes even to an office, there is a socializing process that is very unique to Mexico. I love it, and have to remind myself to slow down, talk to people, acknowledge their presence, say hi, how are you, bye. ❤️

    Awww... you made me cry. As a Mexican American I always have this double edged sword. Because on one hand I’m proud to be American, yet on the other hand my parents background and the Mexican culture are so engrained in me that Mexico has my heart. I’ve been with family and visited here and there, but last year I went on a vacation to Cancun in Quintana Roo and also went to Yucatán. It was the most beautiful experience to see the native dancing and the culture being so full of life. I cried, I cried so hard. The warmth, the kindness, the hustle, the people... I love everything that country embodies. Despite having such a corrupt government for so long, those people overcome anything that they’re faced with. Amazing. Thank you for this. I loved it!

    So correct..The kindness and spirit of Mexicans is noticeable right off the Airplane. I was in huge store months ago and could not find something. Another shopper walked me across the store right to the product I could not find. Been visiting MX for 40 years with many, many pleasant experiences in my memory.
    The speed of life is awesome in MX. I can say however, I have never had a "dinner date' where we were to meet that anyone was more than a couple minutes late.
    Most people outside of MX have no idea how diverse the country is top to bottom. Oceans, mountains and in between. Great food, art, centuries old cultures and very nice people.

    I perfectly understand that feeling ❤️ but I didn't know it until I decided to explore other places. I don't know if everyone has this feeling with their countries, it might be. But this experience outside home (Mexico) has made think of all the times that I watched TV and life seemed so much better outside Mexico. No violence, less corruption, more money. But now that I have lived away for many years and have contacted other cultures I can see our differences and similarities, and probably is because of the family lacking living overseas, but I feel many times empty. While I was feeling too much full when I was living in Mexico. I felt there was too much of everything, probably good and bad and maintain my mind occupied not having to look of what's going on outside for many years. I have noticed Mexico is many times discriminated because of its bad things but the problem is that that's the only thing people know about it. I'll just say I love Mexico ❤️ and I look forward to coming back to help it become better for the many beautiful things and good people it also has. 🇲🇽❤️❤️❤️❤️. Pd. I moved to Vancouver to study (I'm a graduate student) almost one year ago, I lived in Mexico City for 10 years, and I have to say that the city is beautiful and many things are better here, but still miss Mexico a lot!, like you say the warm of Mexicans is something awesome, I've had good experiences with Canadians, they are friendly, but superficial friendly and not warm at all, it is something I still don't understand because most people here seem to live so alone! but I guess is how life is here =) thanks for this video, you made me feel nostalgic but in a good way!

    With this video you remind me how fortunate I am to be Mexican, I been away from my country for over a decade now and I still missing my warm culture.
    I'm glad that our people in México made you feel at home. #5 Made me feel nostalgic. Great video ❤️

    I completely agree with you on #4 when we first started visiting Mexico we would always be in a rush but as we visited more we started realizing how everyone is so relaxed and not worried about time as we are in the U.S now we take our time and appreciate everywhere we visit. And last but not least i really enjoy your videos

    Maaan that's a nice homage video for Mexico! Thank you for sharing your feelings and observations about my beautiful homeland. The Dalai Lama himself called Mexico "The Heart Chackra Of The Earth". When you express your love of Mexico like this, sir, you win Mexico's love right back. (looking for the follow button)

    You are so humble; your way of thinking, the way you talk, makes me feel like you're putting your heart in my hand, and that's beautiful. I think that's why you loved (still) Mexico, because you gave it your heart and all Mexicans and the whole country could feel it too.
    Thank you for making this great, warm and beautiful video. We appreciate it, Dan, leaves me with a good taste in my mouth, it's my first time watching you.
    Saludos. México mantiene sus puertas abiertas, te esperamos pronto de regreso para que sigas exprimentándolo y disfrutándolo.
    HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

    I love that you make these videos, mexico is very misunderstood and people think about bad things when they hear Mexico. But it’s beautiful and has a lot of culture into it! I’ll share this video and I say GRACIAS for visiting Mexico and letting the world know how special we are as well as all of the other countries!

    Thanks for your kind words. I live in Guadalajara, I have been in Montreal and Quebec and I love your country in return. One of the things you mention about knowing so many different places in the different states it’s so true. I have been from Nortn to South in México and I keep on planning the next trip, even in my own state, Jalisco, I still don’t know many touristic places. Come back and ask that we recommend you the hidden treasures. For instance, I have missed to visit the Monarch butterfly or Día de Muertos in Pátzcuaro.

    Hey! This is the first video I've ever watch of you and your channel. I'm very moved about the way you speak about México and the only thing I can tell you this late in the run is: I hope you can be back soon. Anyone who loves México as much as a Mexican, deserves all of México's heart full of love back.
