Great blog Rachel. I lost my sewjo a year ago when my husband died. I have now come back to watching you and you are giving me the will to sew again ❤️ Thank you.
Your Thea’s are fabulous- as is your top. You’re doing brilliantly on your crochet. I seem to remember my mum made me a skirt in granny squares in the 70s. I wanted her to finish it so as I got the needlework encyclopaedia out and that’s how I learnt to crochet a very long time ago! Be kind to yourself you’ve done brilliantly.
Great video - the lace is actually the same as the lace on my wedding dress (which was RTW not me made) - absolutely love it! Can't wait to see what you make
Trousers are amazing, and your top looks great. The colour really suits you. I think it will look great in the autumn time with a blazer or jacket of some sort to compliment it 😊
The Tudor blouse by Stitch Witch. Lovely makes Rachel, you look so happy with them. It's great when your sewing plans turn out exactly how you imagine. ❤ Also great purchases, that Mulberry voile colour suits you.
I made view A of the simplicity dress. The sleeve construction was really interesting- I really like the yellow monstrosity 😊. Mine was a red floral print though.
Hello Rachel No apologies are necessary for buying fabric Something that I have done is with your fabric for coordinating set It's what you want to make with it and I put it with the pattern or a note with the fabric so that I Don't forget what project I got it for Of course sometimes we buy fabric and Don't have a specific plan But if I do I label the fabric its less likely to sit in the stash Does that make sense I love the blouse I have just used a older vogue pattern there good can't go wrong With the right fabric it's great Happy sewing 👗 ✂️ 🪡 🧵 Take care
Love love love your Thea’s, I would like to make a floral pair with a cotton I bought from your destash. Just need to find some time!! Love your Seamwork blouse. An inspiration as always. Have a lovely week ❤
Oh Rachel those Theas are just gorgeous and the top looks really good on you. The colour suits you. I am the same height and very😊 similar build to you, and wonder if you would be kind enough to tell me what, if any, pattern changes you made to the Thea pattern ? Can’t wait to see your Goth dress. I always love your Goth creations 😊x
Thanks for sharing Rachel, it was lovely to catch up. So excited to see what you make with that beautiful lace and well done on persevering with your crochet. 🧶🌈🍓💙
That scalloped edge lace reminded me so much of my bridesmaids. Pale blue satin dresses with hooded capes over made of lace with scalloped edges. So 60s
The blouse is a wonderful colour on you & the trousers look amazing - great match. So many animal prints, look forward to seeing which ones you make first. Love you saying you hadn’t bought much fabric 😂🤣😂
I love your outfit. It’s absolutely gorgeous. My hubby loved them too. He’s all about color. Lots and lots of color 😄. Beautiful fabrics. You’re going to one busy lady 😊. I knit too. Like you I’ve tried crocheting. I haven’t caught on yet. I might be overthinking it 😅. I think your granny squares are pretty. I think granny squares are beginner practice and you just build on it from there. I’m hoping to have a sewing day tomorrow. I want to finish my Donny shirt before the summer is over 😂. Thank you for sharing! Your friend Diane ❤
Love the tops, the Vogue and the Madhu. And good to hear you've mastered crochet, like you I had a few goes before I got it but once you are there it's not difficult to try other things as someone else said. Enjoy
LOVE LOVE LOVE your Vogue top and Thea trousers. They look fantastic on you. Somehow or other I always manage to miss the fabric destash 🙄. Anyway have missed the vlogs and it’s nice to have you back again. 😃
One of the lovely things about crochet is that once you’ve got the hang of the basics, it’s really just variations of the same. Just make sure you know if a pattern is written in UK or US terms because of course you guys couldn’t agree on those 😉 Have fun!
Love the platinum blonde hair-looks lovely -and goes perfectly with all of those fabulous animal prints! You are my inspiration! ❤ can’t wait to see goth dress!
Hi, just watching your vlog - what a great selection of fabrics! When i saw the lacy voile and you mentioned big sleeves i thought you could make the body of the shirt in a fine cotton lawn and then use the lace for the dramatic sleeves a la Sian of kittenish behaviour. Just a suggestion. Happy stitching! Caroline
Terrific trousers! I’m not brave enough to wear patterned pants but they look great on you. As you were showing all the animal prints (😍) I was imagining them all in hanging in your closet- open the door and welcome to Rachel’s Zoo! 😁. Thanks for sharing, can’t wait to see final garments.
Nice to hear what you’ve been doing, thanks. 😊 Maybe a very light plain white chiffon or something would work as sleeves with a white lace bodice (or vice versa).
Love the top. I use the Fibre Mood Sky top which is very similar(made a couple of versions) but do like the cap sleeve effect of the Vogue one. Hook and bar on Thea waistband is good too. Very timely for me as I am literally just finishing the Sew House Seven Oxbow pants and not really wanting to do a buttonhole on the waistband ( they never go well for me 😮). Voile top is fab. Happy Sewing 😊. Lynne
Very cute trousers. Like the pattern a lot, and a nice cotton sateen would make a nice trouser as well. I am busy doing crochet while I watch you. I am making a shrug for a friend for Christmas. I have made oodles of things for my pandemic Grandbaby. Lots of fun and easy to do.
I add a hook and bar to my trousers too, much nicer than a button, but it usually takes me weeks to actually sit down and sewing it on! 😱😱😱 Seriously ridiculous but I feel like I don't really know how to sew it in the right place and properly lined up...do you have any tips? It seems such a simple thing but I feel like there's a right way and I don't know what it is 🤣🤣🤣
Could you make Layla a little sleeveless dress from the leftover fabric from your trousers? Maybe something sleeveless, she could then also wear it with a tshirt and leggings underneath. Does Martin ever roll his eyes and say "more fabric?!" ? I try not to buy more as i have too much now, but my husband questions it and just shakes his head. I'm in the slow process of organizing my fabrics and i know some will be donated to a special charity in the spring. You have some lovely fabrics, i love the postcard fabric, so unique.
Lovely vlog, Rachel. Really like the Vogue pattern. It looks much more modern in the sleeveless version. I can recommend a book with the dubious title of “Stitch’n’Bitch: The Happy Hooker” by Debbie Stoller for when you are ready to build on your crochet knowledge. It’s US based and as another person has commented, you always need to check patterns to make sure you know what is required, but the instructions are so clearly written in this book, it’s well worth it. I'm less sure about the sizing of the patterns in it as I made one which turned out huge even with the right tension but I often use it as a reference guide.
Part of the issue is stitch names. What we Americans call single crochet is a double crochet for those of you over the pond. There are charts that show the difference.
Hi Rachel! 2 videos in one day! Very exciting. Ok, you are to blame for me breaking my no more patterns buying ban. When I saw the Thea Trousers you wore to Kent, I just broke. I've been resisting and resisting and now I have 44 pages to tape together! But I loved yours so much I really wanted to give them a try. Thanks for sharing!
Ohhhhh how about a waistcoat with that leftover fabric from your Thea’s? Something like the Trish Newbury Vienna vest? You could colour block it if you couldn’t squeeze all of it out of what you have as it has side panels and princess seams. 🥰
Hi, thank you Rachel. Yes, that was the trick. I don't know why I didn't think of that. I do know that I've been sewing all day and I guess my mind is a little fogged.
@@nancypollard4531 sometimes when I upload and publish if you tube is still running a few checks it seems to throw in a gremlin or two, glad you’ve got sound now anyway xx
Love the trousers. Can’t wait to see the black goth dress ❤
Well done with the crocheted granny squares, I cannot read crochet patterns but I find the videos by Bella coco brilliant as a visual learning aid.
Great blog Rachel. I lost my sewjo a year ago when my husband died. I have now come back to watching you and you are giving me the will to sew again ❤️ Thank you.
That’s lovely to hear. Take care x

The Sabina skirt by the Little Pomegranate would be good in that black voile❤👍🏼
Trousers are amazing, and your top looks great. The colour really suits you. I think it will look great in the autumn time with a blazer or jacket of some sort to compliment it 😊
Hey Rach 👋👋 Lovely to see what you're up to, I'm so behind with vlogs!💗💗
Awww we miss your gorgeous face

I love that blue on you. It really suits you. You look lovely today. (Even though it's late.) I wish I could do that. 😂

Everything is beautiful. I love your blouse.
It's a truly wonderful blouse on you! And it looks great with your slacks. Wow! Well done!
Love your Vogue top. It looks like it can be dressed up or down. Beautiful ❤
Love the outfit! The top especially! Beautiful on you too!
Love love love your Thea’s, I would like to make a floral pair with a cotton I bought from your destash. Just need to find some time!!
Love your Seamwork blouse. An inspiration as always. Have a lovely week ❤
Lovely catch up honey. Those Theas are truly INCREDIBLE! Love your impromptu makes too - they always end up being gorge! xxx

Thanks for sharing Rachel, it was lovely to catch up. So excited to see what you make with that beautiful lace and well done on persevering with your crochet. 🧶🌈🍓💙
Love the new fabrics, especially the one with the monkeys. I bought that one in my favourite fabric shop in Palma Majorca whilst I was on holiday.
That scalloped edge lace reminded me so much of my bridesmaids. Pale blue satin dresses with hooded capes over made of lace with scalloped edges. So 60s
So many gorgeous fabrics. I LOVE the top you are wearing 😍
All the makes were great, look forward to the matching skirt. Lovely to see you back, life does happen ♥
Love the Thea’s, might give them a go seeing as I’ve got the pattern!!!! 🐾🐾
The blouse is a wonderful colour on you & the trousers look amazing - great match. So many animal prints, look forward to seeing which ones you make first. Love you saying you hadn’t bought much fabric 😂🤣😂
Love your makes, and you look fabulous! 😊😎. I think I have that same vintage Vogue pattern!

So good to see you again! Lovely clothes and I can really see the top that you're wearing in lots of colors under jackets or cardigans or whatever.
Gorge fabrics and love that black top. It’s gunna look so good as a co-ord 😍
Your Thea's and the Vogue top look so beautiful together! And the top is indeed so unique. Super curious about your next goth dress 🖤
Loved your vlog, as always🥰 Get your skirt done and you have your coord set made up😉 Wishing you a wonderful week😊
I am seeing your vision with the goth dress, and it's going to be fabulous!!!! Good luck!! Lynne 🤩😍

That’s a very good point!
I love your top. The color really works with your lipstick.
Great vlog again. Thank you Rachel - if only I could get my own sewing projects going! Maybe this week.😃
I really love the tip for the trouser hook and bar closure.
That top looks amazing on you!
I have the same orange and pink viscose and made the simplicity 9125 jumpsuit! In love with it !
Love the platinum blonde hair-looks lovely -and goes perfectly with all of those fabulous animal prints! You are my inspiration! ❤ can’t wait to see goth dress!
You've shown us so many gorgeous things. And that Art Deco fabric ...oh my!❤
I love those trousers and that fabric is gorgeous. The top you have made to go with it is right in fashion now.
You look amazing your hair colour and the blue top makes your eyes pop. Especially noticed it on your northern sewl video

Love the blouse! Simple and classy look!
Cute combination!

Ah that’s brilliant I hope you love them!
I love your Thea’s Rachel. I think we have a few fabrics the same 😅
That color looks so pretty on you❤
I’m spending a couple of days trying to organize all my patterns. Keep looking at yours-how do you find the one you are looking for?
Ohhhhh how about a waistcoat with that leftover fabric from your Thea’s? Something like the Trish Newbury Vienna vest? You could colour block it if you couldn’t squeeze all of it out of what you have as it has side panels and princess seams. 🥰
Bell sleeves! ‘70’s style to put over a 1 pc jumpsuit?
Could you use the Thea remnant to do a visible bias bound finish on a plain top, that would tie in with the trousers without being too full on?
🐯
Actually I like your hair today. The little bit of curl is pretty.
Animal print never seems to go out of style😅
I need to destash but I am having problems letting go. Does it get easier?
It really does the more you do it
I have a question how long have you had your Phaff machine? I need a new one
I’ve had it about 7 years now it’s brilliant never lets me down
xXX👍👍👍
If you need pattern designer you can contact with me, I will design any kind of pattern
No sound 😢
Please refresh and try again it’s working for me 😊
