E-Bike Question of the Day ⚡🚴 Would you use the Pace 500.3 for casual evening rides, daily commuting, or something else? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
The throttle on demand makes this perfect for all of the above in my opinion. Getting that extra boost from a stop sign and being able to conquer that last hill on the way home. Great for commuting to work. If you need to get there fast , perfect. Great for making runs to the store. Great for just cruising around town. I have the Gen 1 and the Gen 2. Great for everything.
I got this exact bike 2 weeks ago. Literally the same color. I do not drive a car and this is my daily driver. I am loving the experience. It takes me my 4 mile commute to work no problem!
Today i took a ride, 33 miles on a full charge. used less than half of the battery , 53 pound pace 500 3 , 115 pound rider, no other load, projecting 66 miles on eco only and throttle to cross streets. My hubby has a Lectric XP 3.0 long range, 63 pound e bike , wag a long trailer 10 pounds and 40 pounds in the trailer. He weighs 170 and ran on pas 2 and 3 plus throttle to cross streets . we both averaged 15 mph. His e bike ran out of juice at 39 miles but wasn't completely dead, when into limp mode to make it home just fine. We are doing the KATY TRAIL in October, are longest daily ride is 34 miles,
Just purchased the step thru model a few weeks ago and love it. Coming off an IGO Elite (Costco bike) the hydraulic brakes, torque sensor and weight difference are highlights. So far loving it for all around use. Aftermarket fenders, bell, tailbag and rack round out the accessories that should have been included with the bike but I do understand the price point. Only thing I'm disappointed in is the squealing rear brake I have been unable to solve. Being in Canada, Aventon Canada has made suggestions but have not adequately addressed the problem so customer service is a bit of an issue. Thanks for your review.
Love the review! I am now thinking of actually buying this e-bike as my first ever e-bike. Also, great work on the camera angles and shots, whoever is doing those gotta get a raise!
rode today - great ride but wish gear changer was integrated into handle grip to twist on the fly vs clicking the lever - makes a big difference to me!
For Hill climb, how does it compare to the ebikes with the Bosch performance line CX (85nM torque) mid-drive motors? I live in an area with very steep hills (22% grade) and I want to know if this will get me up the hill with pedal assist.
For those grades a mid drive will always do better, 22 % is quite steep so you'll definitely be standing while pedaling at the least. 500 watt with probably around 65 nm torque can easily tackle 10-15%.
I wish they would rearrange the controls on the handlebar. It's confusing because all Powersports vehicles, like motorcycles, ATVs, Jet-skis, scooters, and mopeds, typically have the throttle on the right. For those of us used to that setup, this feels counterintuitive.
Basically a Velotric discover one. It’s interesting how both of these companies founders last name is the same. They use some of the same apps on their websites. And the Discover one in this bike is almost identical.
Yes indeed, I used to have a Pedego City Commuter, it's very similar to the Pace, though the model I have is outdated. Take a peek at the Gazelle Arroyo Elite C8, re Dutch bike.
Based on the frame sizing I know from buying light road bikes, I'd think this bike was under-sized. To be specific your leg extension at the bottom of the pedal stroke - I'd think the your leg would be closer to (but not) straight. Do E-Bikes size differently because of the motor assist?
I am considering this bike for casual riding. I struggle with the conflict of buying online vs my local bike dealer who will support me. Your thoughts and opinions, please. I am impressed with your video and testing it!
The tail lights are so far down that cars aren't going to notice unless they are farther back and as you know most cars keep right on your tail if your in the street . No racks no fenders and the bike is like $1800 ! No thanks I'll stick with my wired which runs $1999 and gives you fenders, a rack and hydraulic brakes not to mention it tops out just under 40 mph for close to 30 miles of range !
The main benefit of having two lights is they can judge your speed, direction when its dark. The human eye can see the widening of the lights which can translate your position sooner then with a blinking light. Blink will let you know your there, have dual constant lights will give your direction and speed.
Bro, it's an e bike. Good luck finding an affordable e bike that isn't a carbon fiber frame at that weight. Average mountain bikes without batteries or motors weight around 30lbs.
@@michaelkuhner1955 the controller I believe is what it was called broke, I called and they sent me the piece had to spend like 60 dollars for labor tho, and it’s malfunctioning again now

Man. That’s really cute. One day that will be me and someone
My girlfriend has the first Pace 500. We just got back from a nice 16 mile ride. She love her bike. The newer versions look great as well
It's a great series of bikes!

Thanks for watching! Hopefully the brake noise works itself out.
Other people have had the same issue, a new disc rotor and brake pad can fix it but, try to put it on Aventon's tab.
You never mentioned the hub axel instead of quick release.

I have been biking in SF with a weak Aventon Soltera 2 and I’ve been doing fine. I think a Pace 3 would be fine on first gear
I do plan out a route ahead of time

Do you think this is a little quieter than the original? I have the original and love it but am debating on upgrading to this model. Thanks!🙂

Dutch style bikes are the future!
The Dutch set a heck of a standard!

How is it in wet roads?
It explodes instantly

He could have raised the seat a little higher, definitely looked a little low when he was peddling
I would prefer an Aventon with front suspension as the streets and bike paths where I live are really rough.
You could look at the Level or Aventure
@@ElectricBikeReport Thanks.

If you know nothing about bikes bike shop, if your somewhat savvy and have a torque wrench just get it online.
I'm getting ready to purchase locally but I'm hearing customer service horror stories!
I'm 6'5". The Large frame says 5'10" - 6'4". Can I make this work, or should I look for another brand?
Bro , it's perfect , i'm 6'4
We've had somebody your height ride it and he reported that he felt 'mostly good' when riding it.
I am almost as tall. My local dealer was able to add a special high rise seat post and handlebar post. Ask your dealer.
What class of ebike is this
It ships as a Class 2.
I really wish they had an upgraded version with Belt drive and IGH. Don't care how much more it would cost!
Aventon is always improving, so maybe that will be an option on the Pace 500.4. We'd like that setup too!

The Wired is basically an eMoped.
It's too heavy. Prefer bikes under 40 lb with belt drive. 52 lb it should have some type of suspension.

@@tokiburoak7457 Ride one up has one for 32 lb. You can find a lot of e-bikes for under 40 lb they're not that hard to find.
If one uses throttle at all, do not expect decent range.
A universal truth for all e-bikes: use too much throttle, expect worse milage.
I bought this bike 3 months ago and it’s already defective, not worth the money
Can you say a little more? What has gone wrong? I’m considering this bike but your experience would be great to consider.
