I kinda disagree with most of the points made. I like the V2 wayyy more than then V1. The V2 is more slim in look, I feel like I’m wearing a heel when I put a V1 on. The absorb pods look cool to me and give the sneaker some contrast. The toe box and sole just look sleek. I put these on feet and everything feels inline. This is definitely one of my favorite’s this year.
The color on the pods I don’t mind, I just wished it had the same clear cover as the 991v1. ✌🏼
Same yhere with the heel and the 991 is very uncomfortable for my feet. I prefer the v2 way more than the v1. Sold my jjjjound 991 because i can‘t wear them 😢

😂 the colour pods is the main reason I bought this cause the blue/greenish colour parts really popped out and got my attention. It had the similar colour pods on the anniversary edition 991 but it only for the women version( men edition was just black pods) so I saw this on the v2 i instantly bought it 😂
@user-mz9me1fd3r I like the teal colored pods, wish it had the clear cover like the v1.
Personally think the v2 is a big upgrade overall. Much better look and slightly improved comfort. Once collabs start hitting more people will see
Oh yeah collabs will have an impact. But sometimes the collab will overlook the model used.

Looks awesome. The 991 v1 was great but this one is a definite improvement. I would be willing to pay even a little bit more than retail for something like this. The colour is clean. For some reason, I think the blue/green colour contrast accentuates the beauty of the grey and the white, thus making it look clean. Definite cop.
I need to half size up because the heel to toe ratio will make the toe push to the edge. So need to half size up for the extra room if u don’t like the pressure on the toes. Fyr I wear us11 in 990v6 and us12 in 991v2 and it feels good when start walking. Even though there’s a little gap between the toe and the edge but as soon as you start walking the toes will be pushed forward.
These are my first NB's and i found them for cheaper on an Australian website than on NB's website. Makes me feel a little better about copping them, because i see what you're saying about the 991v1's. Makes me kinda wish i pulled the trigger on a pair of those instead, but I like how they looked on feet in your vid. I'm sure i'll like them a bunch once i get them in hand
Good review and appreciate your honesty. Not a huge fan of the Made in UK models, my feet prefer the comfort of the Made in USA line. However, imo the OG 991 looks better than this updated version.

They're sweet bro, excellent purchase. Now, i think next u should get a pair of NB 1600 (the one with shiny gray, not the new ones in nobuck). Get either the normal 1600 or the gold limited edition. Trust me, u wont regret it.
Can you explain sizing on these? I have heard conflicting recommendations..i generally go half size down on 990v5 and 993s. Should i be getting half size down in these as well or stick true to size?
Just got mine in the mail today. I went true to size 10 and they fit great. Hope this helps.
This one is a bit complicated, my gut feeling says go with your made in US size. I feel like they changed the fit here compared to a 991.
I don't know but for me the design is way better than v1. I love the sleek look like the 990v2. I dig it. Great review though. 👍
Think you got unlucky with your pair of these as mine are absolutely flawless. No glue stains etc and the craftsmanship is excellent. Vast improvement on the 991 too imo. P.S

compared to v6, which cushioning do you prefer?? which one is softer in your pov?
I haven’t yet tested those two models. V6 vs 991v2. But between the 991v1 vs v2 I didn’t notice much of a difference.

Im fine with the shape but imo they went too hard on the branding. I dont like the 991 on the side heel or the v2 on the tongue/back (especially the tongue)
I do like the midsole look better than the v1 and the toebox re-shape is a nice touch.
All in all i woudlnt say its a complete miss but id prefer v1 or 992 any day

Those were my second choice if I didn’t cop the Carhartts V6 , but think I will wait for a sale or different colorway for the v2 instead

I never have NB
, only wear Nike or adidas true size 9.5Us. 911V2 will be first shoe, question for sizing choose true to size(9.5) or half size up(10)
Maybe stick with your 9.5.

bought them as soon as they became available via BTSN. i have them in hand and like them.
not worth that exorbitant $250 retail price at all. this was my 1st Made In UK New Balance and probably around my 15th NB pair this year alone.
that said, this pair had the most QC issues out of any NB i’ve owned. bad stitching errors and my left outer midsole came with bad glue marks and even a spot where the white rubber midsole was snagged or something.
as far as your review, 🔥🔥🔥 as usual bro.
Same QC issues as you can see in the review. Very disappointing.
In your opinion what is the one first pair of NB shoes one should get?

Do you own a pair of 991v1 as well? If so, was the sizing different?

I was pretty excited about this but 991s are such an iconic shoe that v2s needed to come with something truly outstanding. How can a company improve from something that good? I hear your inputs as I know you have pretty much all the 990s models and know your thing. It will have to be the 991 in this grey then XD
This model may be loved by those that didn’t like how the 991v1 looked. And at the end that’s what it’s about. But that $250 price gets me when there are flaws 🤣

@eja35oz To be honest didn’t really like the Stone Islands, didn’t feel like I needed them. More hype than anything IMO.

The colour of the heel cap looks out of place, the blue fuel cell looks out of place, the “V2” stitching on the heel and tongue looks tacky, 993 and 992 can’t be compared
