I only started getting into New Balance at the start of the year after picking up a pair of the Tiago 1010 in January. Bought the 991v1 a few months back and love them. The midsole on these reminds me of the 993 a bit and the toe cap is reminiscent of the 990v1. I’d like to see NB experiment with 99x models with minimal or even zero drop but still with all of the tech.
Legend getting it early! I'm not exactly a Stone Island fan, but the colourway looks cool and as the first 991 V2 pair created, I want it. I am 99.9% sure I won't be able to get hold of it at retail though ☹
Im a fan of the v1. Definitely want to go for these too. If they are anything like the v1 im gonna love them im sure. That grey colorway looks nice with the light blue popping out of the outsole
Managed to get these today at the flagship store. Got lucky and they had my size in stock with one pair remaining. Didn't like them at first but they look great in-hand/on-feet and they are really growing on me.
My biggest complaint about the 991 was always the tongue and how the patch shape made them look weird on feet. I love these and hope they release GR colorways

I got these in 9.5 and width wise they’re perfect, but there’s definitely room in front of my toe, which I’m used to, no heel slipping either. If I find the width good going down to a 9 would probably be uncomfortable, right?

Great review, Sean! The only difference in opinion I've ever had with you on NB sizing is the 990v2 where I find that going down 1/2 a size is the better fit. That being said, how would you compare the fit between the 991v2 and the 990v2? Do these run as long, and do they run as snug in your opinion, or do these have more or less room?
Since NB stops the half size after 11.5 and the 991v1 in my TTS 12 fit tight and narrow. So I'm thinking about going up to a size 13 to solve my issue. What do you think? Im not a wide footer but its definitely not standard its like in the middle almost boarding on a wide but have had my foot scanned and it said standard but my right foot is 12.5 and my left is a little under 12.5 lol explains why most TTS shoes at 12 fit a little snugger on my right foot. I am asking so I can snag the GR grey before it sells out as there are 3 pairs left in stock on NB. Thx in advance.

991 fit more narrow than 990 v2. So these have a bit less room than a 990 v2
