      I’m a junior kicker for varsity. BIGGEST MOST HELPFUL TIP. Every in game kick is all mental. Work on mental exercises and breathing things to calm down. Have confidence, that’s the biggest thing. Don’t overthink.

    Im 14 and in 8th grade my parents won't let me play football cause they say its to rough and dangerous so now im starting to kick and i can hit 35, thanks for the help im hoping there'll let me

    Hey Caden great video. I struggle with getting that little hop off of plant foot after I strike the ball. I don’t know if it could be that my last step is too far or what could be causing it. Any tips?

      Sometimes it can be because you are not fully getting through the kick. I don’t know if there are any drills to help with that other than just mentally thinking about it as you kick.

    Hey Caden, I have a question you might be able to answer. When im kicking, I get a muscle pain right around where you would get shin splints. Is there a way to fix that? I thing it might be because im turning my foot too far out but I don't want to self diagnose.

    Hey you got any things that I can do to kick the ball with the correct part of my foot? When I’m practiceing and going slow I can get my foot right to hit the ball but when I am actually kicking it full speed I can’t get my foot in like the right angle. And most the of the time when I go to kick pat and toe kick it and end up missing bc I struggle with getting my foot in right angle. Thanks!

      Maybe practice one steps... i personally have problems with this too and for me its a hit or miss. You also have to respect something like this takes time and practice.. i would say keep practicing and get into a habit of doing it slow then try it fast.. so basically prob just need practice...

    i have a question, the "pole drill" includes the leg kick movement or is a static drill for 10/20 seconds?

    I must be doing something wrong. I don't have cleats and kick with my tennis shoes. I am saving money to buy cleats but am wondering, If I do have good lean,good posture, kicking on the right part of the foot, can It put all my effort in vein if I don't have the cleats? I can kick a 20 yard field goal distance wise but height wise I can probably make a 10 in reality. So my question is, if I don't have the right shoes, can it effect height and distance? If you can answer it would really be helpful, love your vids thanks.😊❤

      You will probably lose some height and distance kicking in tennis shoes vs in soccer cleats, but you can still make progress and improve in tennis shoes if you don’t have cleats yet.

    I just began kicking the other day after years of playing soccer and it has been a rough start. When I kick it, it doesn’t float in the air the same way it does for other kickers? Any idea what the problem could be? It’s my dream to be a kicker and I don’t want to give up

    hey caden. another great video as always. just wanted to give you a little bit to think about when talking about the lean. when i train kickers, i look at their body type and how they move. we look at kickers in two general categories: long leg/short torso; and equal leg/torso (about the same length). The reason we do this is that their leg/torso ratio often dictates the kicker's natural swing pattern. an ll/st kicker tends to naturally use a bigger lean and an el/et tends to naturally stand more upright. the muscle groups usually are used differently, and sometimes if you force an el/et kicker to have a high lean, they sometimes end up crowding their body when planting. now, all kickers have to lean a little bit, but look at the difference between tucker and janikowski. seebass almost stands up.

    when we get into the weight room, we try to maximize the muscle groups natural to each type of kicker and the lean they end up developing is not forced, but a natural result of figuring out how their bodies develop the most power with the most consistency.

      Thanks for the feedback! This is just general information that has helped me and many kickers. I know each person and their body is different which is something I take into account when coaching them. Again, thanks for sharing this information, as most people don’t realize how this affects kicking.

      @@cadennovikoff btw, we are always trying to figure out the best way to evaluate body type, so any videos on that would be helpful. we see so many times in these kicking camps that they teach one way of doing things, and it is often nonproductive and sometimes can hurt them.

    Sometimes I feel like I plant too deep and I wrap around the ball/pull it left. Should I move my plant back in line with ball? There’s definitely some kickers in the NFL with a deep plant like Wil Lutz but they manage to make it work.

      You could try moving your plant back and see if that helps, if not, then it’s something else causing you to wrap the ball
